  1. Unfortunately even with rules there are some who chose to ignore them because they feel it's cheaper to pay the fines. It true there are always risks but the best choice is to try to eliminate all of the risks you can. There is a huge difference in taking risks and being stupid about taking the risks that can be minimized using standard common sense practices.
  2. A couple of observations. First there was a disturbing rumor that the carbon fiber used to build the sub was bought cheaply becuase it was no longer viable for aircraft usage. Second you have to think the proper testing wasn't done because of trying to save money. Was that micky mouse mount done that way because it would cost more to do it right for something that's going to be operated in such a harsh environment. Third if your solution to a credible whistle blower is to fire them then you aren't going to hire people that won't rock the boat. And if you are trying to save money and you aren't going to get people that are best quality for the job. Although given the nature of the monitor mount I find it hard to believe that anyone could believe that was an acceptable way to do it. Not the foundation for making sound decisions for such a harsh unforgiving environment. Unfortunately a guarantee that a disaster is going to happen. Not a question of if rather than when.
  3. This picture is mind boggling. I simply can't believe that anyone could think that was a proper way of doing that. Complete idiocy. Wonder what other things were done like this.
  4. Definitely tragic. Usually when somebody(in this case the CEO) who makes the poor decisions seldom pay the ultimate price for it. When you are going to operate in such a harsh environment you simply cannot take shortcuts. Those shortcuts will eventually catch up with you. And being wrong just once in this case is a fatal error. Doing all the due diligence and doing the proper testing will help but there is always the potential for a failure in such an unforgiving environment. Proper testing always important.
  5. Actually it isn't that simple. Basically the name would be all those rights would be. The licensing from the manufacturers would still have to be obtained. Plus you would have to buy original mint kits to scan. Then you have the cost for scanning and tooling. Also other than the bodies the rest of the kit would need some upgrades. Just don't see that all of the expense would be justified. Remember the prices on eBay only reflect what some people are willing to pay becuase there are a limited number of kits available. If you really want one of the Johan kits then you are going to have to pay a hefty price. If any of the old Johan subject matter would be retooled it would be better to 3d scan the actual car and create an all new kit. Again due to limited appeal the cost cannot be justified.
  6. War games are conducted to fine tune armies for wherever the next conflict will be.
  7. Ii would think that the decanting process would induce air into the paint and degrade its shelf life. You would want to use it as soon as possible.
  8. A very creative solution. https://www.autoblog.com/2023/06/22/phillys-collapsed-i-95-bridge-is-set-to-reopen-in-record-time-thanks-to-nascar/
  9. It's amazing how some can be cavalier by jeopardizing others safety with the potential devasting consequences from their actions. No how remote the possibility of something happening that is still no guarantee that it wouldn't happen. Besides if you speed and you a child it would horrible. If you ship paint and the plane it was on crashes you may not know if you were the cause. Guess one could just be in denial that their actions weren't the cause. But I certainly wouldn't be able be able to sleep at night wondering if I had been the cause.
  10. Great idea on the tips. Have a pinned thread on the forum and then pick a few of the best to use in the magazine. Something along the lines of the forum finds in the magazine.
  11. And how would you feel if that possible. scenario happens. All rules are established for a reason and too many people feel that don't have to follow the rules.

  14. Answers may not be right depending who has answered the question.
  15. That's a good point. Might be your best bet at this point before you try other avenues.
  16. Was IMC. I think the wheelbase was about 100 scale inchs(about 4 inches) whatever a real bugs wheelbase was. Here is link to scalemates. https://www.scalemates.com/kits/imc-114-volkswagen--942364
  17. It is impossible to live in reality when you are willing to believe unproven statements by others becuase those statements are repeated numerous times by others.
  18. It is important to focus all of your attention on today and not be distracted by thoughts of yesterday and tomorrow.
  19. First off did the guy that helped set it up try anything to try to fix the issue? What did he suggest you do. If your tech did that then you need to get ahold of Dell to see about getting instructions for service. At this point you either need to get your tech back or get help from another. The other option would be to try looking at some videos on YouTube. The link to the this site might help if you could use the old computer to view them and do the steps on the new. https://www.youtube.com/@MDTechVideos/videos
  20. Nice work. Nice scratchbuilding. I would think that if you needed more of those parts it would have made sense to do the 3d printed part. Plus it's handy to keep your scratchbuilding skills sharp.
  21. Did you figure out what you want to build?
  22. Beholder is one who observes things and in the world today there are lots of things I don't wish to observe as they are so nonsensical.
  23. Nicely done. Looks great.
