  1. Nicely done. Parts box builds are always fun.
  2. Definitely not a good way to start off the day. Hopefully surveillance got some good pictures of the thieves. Doesn't sound like they were too bright if they damaged a car they were trying to steal.
  3. Interesting info Bill. I've never heard that term before.
  4. I remember that the now defunct scale auto magazine did an article for pro stock and prostrate chassis for kitbashing. I know there was an article for what modern kits would be useful for updating older kits with minimal chassis details. Such a database would be useful. However it would take a quite a bit to design it . Also it would have to be updated. Besides that if it was something like scalemates how would you make sure the information was accurate.
  5. Society has become more divided because of social media rather than being unified by it , it allows people to live in a world of only others that agree with them all the time.
  6. The intent for that release is for the collectors of corvettes and those who collect 1963. It's the same idea as the coke or other themed issues. Most will never be.built rather the sealed kits will be displayed.
  7. You have the right attitude on making mistakes. Learn from them and don't make the same mistake twice. Side note when sparying a 2 tone paint job the lighter color is sprayed first. It can be harder to cover the darker color with the lighter. I definitely think you need to let it sit for more than a month. Let the black completely out gas.(the paint is fully dry when you can smell it. I'd then carefully mask the white and sand the black.when done remove that tape. Remask and shoot the black.
  8. I suspect another issue is when they are making changes they aren't doing adequate testing. Sometimes changes can cause unintended problems and rigorous testing is the only way to find them. As with most companies these days management wants to cut corners to save a few cents.
  9. I agree I enjoy seeing your build articles Tim. A fun kit but certainly not worth the crazy money they go for. Wouldn't spend more than the going rates for it. If the molds had still existed it would be fun to build one for nostalgia. Definitely don't see that it would be viable to create all new tooling for. I remember building one as a kid but that one is long gone.
  10. Definitely sounds like there is a sorting issue that is caused by a combination of issues that are causing problems. If the data isn't being entered correctly then what comes out isn't going to be right and there not a lot ebay can do about that. In addition there is a problem with the sorting algorithm.
  11. Coming together nicely. I enjoy seeing how you use a mixture of techniques for making the parts you need. You choose what suits the need best.
  12. First off I think this question really belongs in "Model building Questions and answers". Make a request for the mods to move it. I would say if you are looking for a quick build I would suggest a kit. You might even consider taking a different second kit if you get stuck on the first one for some reason. I would also suggest you make sure there are no issues with the short shots or missing parts. In my stash I have gotten kits that intend to build out of the box for doing quick builds. The Revell 1932 Ford kits, and the Revell 1929 Ford Roadster are great quick build kits. They go together well with little drama. The Tamiya kits are also a good choice. Hope this helps.
  13. Smart move. Don't think you will regret it.
  14. First off I disagree with deleting this thread as the information is very b useful. The problem with people hijacking the thread is it makes it difficult to get the information presented about the Revell chrome. Before you decide to hijack a thread to add off topic information at least ask the original poster if they object. If they do then start another thread titled to suit the subject matter. Shouldn't be that hard to extend a little courtesy to the op.
  15. East coast hot rods styling was different than west coast hot rods styling.
  16. Them against us is a common problem in the world today.
  17. Looks like a great issue. Looking forward to read it
  18. True both are Rustleum however you are using two lines of Rustleum paint. The color coat is painters touch but the primer is not. Even though you are testing the still could have issues because these products may never have been designed to work together for all conditions. So slightly different conditions when spraying could cause an immediate paint reaction or one down the road such as the cracking above. Just something to consider.
  19. Looking good. Nice progress.
  20. I would hazard a guess that the top paint was drying faster than the primer coat. Another reason not to mix manufactuers
  21. Just did a Google search and the$8.29 is in line for what most places are selling including Amazon. Guess Rustoleum has raised the price to.
  22. Great concept. Nice work so far.
  23. Given that project x has always been a test bed converting it to ev was a natural step. EV do have the performance but not necessarily that long of a range.
  24. In my book it being a space capsule it is even more agregious considering the higher requirements. You don't get a mulligan when something goes wrong and the errors with take up to 7 astronauts out in one error. It's also their first involvement in reusable space capsules. Not a way to instill confidence. Gotta wonder did they use the table on their aircraft.
