  1. Family matters always take precedence in our lives. Any progress is good. Enjoy the bench time when you get it.
  2. If you insist on using restoleum then one needs to test every kit to make sure the plastic is compatible. No guarantees that all kits will react the same.
  3. Harry Bentley Bradley passed on May 13. He was 83. Besides being an automotive designer for GM he also was hired by Mattel to design the first 16 hot wheels. My condolences to his friends and family.
  4. Coming along nicely. The willingness to redo some parts makes the difference between a great model and a dood one.
  5. Casey where did you read that. Did a search and didn't see anything about his passing.
  6. Hope you continue to feel better. Congrats on your awards. Hopefully you will return to posting wips I always enjoy watching your projects coming together.
  7. True that some cleanup needs to be done. However if the resolution is low that cannot be fixed. A good example of this is digital photographs. Low resolution is fine for the web but not suitable for print. Still it's still impressive that a scan using a phone can be done. I'm sure that the technology will improve over time.
  8. Impressive engineering. Great color. Flawlessly done.
  9. Some amazing models to view so far. Again thank you for taking the time to post the photos. I have been enjoying them immensely.
  10. I looked at the site and I didn't see them saying that the 3d scans were for 3d printing. It is my understanding that that not all 3d scans are intended for 3d printing. Your results are consistent with the suggested usages on polycam website When you did the scan is there a fixture for the phone to be able to do a 360 degree scan?
  11. Cool. Glad to see the restoration complete. It's neat that your model got to join the other winner in person for the first time. It's always nice to see a piece of history restored.
  12. Nice start. You've got a bunch of body work to do.
  13. First off judging someone for having a low post count is not taking into consideration for what's happening in their life. Second the way people participate is as varied as build genre or build style. Some build only car or trucks while others build a variety of subjects. Some post wips and finished projects while some just finished projects. Some build one project at a time to completion. Others have multiple projects going and then slowly finish them. Some have multiple projects going that may never be finished. Who has the right to judge what is the right or wrong whether it be model building style or how they choose to participate on the board.
  14. Thing was the nickname of Ben Grimm of the fantastic four.
  15. Happy birthday. Remember it's not the years but the mileage.

  17. You could check his youtube channel. Not really surprised he hasn't been on the site. He was be accused of padding his post count not sure why that was important. He was also getting flak for acknowledging sponsored items. Definitely would not make one feel welcome.
  18. I agree. If one reads this thread they will be aware of the pitfalls of using Rustoleum. With that in mind they can make an informed decision about rolling the dice on a project and use Rustoleum.
  19. Very nice. Well done. Definitely award winning work. Congrats on your best class GSL award.
  20. Thank you so much for sharing your photos. Lots of great models to look at.

  22. Coming together nicely.
  23. Was a great venue for viewing the completed model. Came out beautifully.
