  1. Unfortunately I don't see this as economically feasible. My understanding is the tooling was designed for a very different injection molding machine that may or may not exist. What would be required is a complete clone of the kits to allow the kits to be run on newer injection molding machines. Unfortunately I just don't see the market being there to justify the cost. If you really want an old Johan kit you are going to pay some big bucks to get a rebuilder.
  2. Guinnevere should not be confused with Guinevere who was king Arthur's queen.
  3. How about some table shots for those who couldn't make it. Please
  4. Just some table shots would be cool.
  5. Thanks for translating for me Bill. Between being half awake(was working on my first cup coffee I'm not functioning before two normally ) and spellcheck helping(not)6 that post was out there.
  6. I second the motion.
  7. The cardboard version sounds like a great solution. Using it for a template is a great idea.
  8. Thanks to the entire team for getting MCM back on track. Personally I think the mix of content is just right. To add more of any category would mean something else has to get less coverage. A better way would be to have more content on Patreon with a small subscription fee. Although it wouldn't be printed on paper it would be an easier solution to adding more pages and increasing the cost.u
  9. Video(VHS) tapes have been replaced by DVDs.
  10. MPC 1/20 Paxton turbine car. Also have a hot rod magazine and several books for reference detailing. Paid $75 for it about 25 years ago.
  11. Hopefully someone will post some pictures for those of us that couldn't make it.
  12. The tailgaters are the one that drive me the most nuts. Lots of narrow two lanes roads with limited visibility ahead and mostly 35 to 40 mph. An added attraction is a fairly large deer population, which I've had to make a a panic stop when they've come out from the brush on the side road. There's no way they are going to avoid rear ending me if I have to avoid something. It's gotten to the point I chain a bunch of errands together to avoid the gauntlet of stupidity they any drive has become these days.
  13. Nicely done. Looks great.
  14. Nicely done. The weathering is perfect. Like the idea of a well used but well taken care of older vehicle rather than a factory fresh concourse restoration. Your version has much more character and visual appeal.
  15. This is the typical case for most consumers. Decisions are based on cost only. A lot of people buy low quality tools because of the price and then complain about how poorly they work. The model companies can only provide what the consumer is willing to buy or they won't be in business long.
  16. Ray, You might send Brudda or Bill Geary(MrObsessive) a pm and ask them if they had issues with the chrome. I believe they both have built this kit
  17. I think that is a pretty small group in the United States. If you look at a lot of the builds here you don't see that many people buying 2 kits to create a more detailed one. Can't speak on Ebbro but Tamiyas market is different than Round2.
  18. Is the issue with all the chrome? What about requesting a replacement?
  19. Function must always considered over form.
  20. Shaggy can often be your nickname depending how often you get a haircut.
  21. Yup this sums it up exactly. Painting is a process. You can't cut corners and get consistent results. First you have to be meticulous in your prep work. Second lay down your paint as smooth as possible using the right materials. Third is the polishing process. Would it make sense to cut corners on the prep work and not clean the plastic and get fish eyes. Are leave mold lines, injector pins, and sink marks because it takes to long.
  22. When you take all the costs in consideration buying another kits works out to being cheaper in the long run. You can either trade or sell the rest.
  23. These are the things that have to be considered with a business. Resources whether it be money or time are limited. You have to do what you believe what is the best choice with those in consideration. Unfortunately when the question is asked about any product there are those who show interest but never follow through. I wonder how many who say they will buy one or say they will buy multiples follow through and actually do that.

  25. Nicely done. Those door panels look great. Great color choice.
