  1. The thing will people using their personal vehicles is the insurance. A long time ago I worked for a courier service. The job didn't last long because the courier company wanted proof of insurance from my insurance company. Insurance company said no as my policy was was personal use and not for business usage. I doubt that changed and I wonder how many people using their personal automobiles are not covered when they are doing these jobs.
  2. Great color. Nice work fixing the dash issue. Test fitting always reduces the potential for fit issues. One suggestion on the paint. If the paint is really thin you should try reducing the pressure and shooting closer(you might want to try this out on a scrap body and see if it helps). Wondering if your paint issue was the paint drying too fast. Hope you can save the paint as the color looks great.
  3. It was actually yesterday morning. Had summer service checkup for air conditioning scheduled for 10am. Wake up at 6:30 with my day planned. Just as I am getting up power goes off. No problem there's plenty of time till service. Now morning routine is shot can't make coffee or fix breakfast, and don't want to use phone too much to conserve battery. Get email and text from pge but no estimated time of power restoration. Finally call air conditioning company and explain that power is out and no clue when it coming back on and reschedule for afternoon. Finally at 10:15am power comes back on but vague explanation that outage was weather related. Get some coffee made, put phone on charger. My sister called and ask me to go back there house to put air on as they had a doctor's appointment. Came back home and called air conditioning company but tach was in Chico and was not going to be able to come sooner. Service did get done. But it's amazing how much a power outage can mess up a day. Wish pge had been better with estimation of when power was going to be restored.
  4. It boils down to personal preference and choices. Not every builder is concerned with every issue with a kit. I'm sure someone could be happily building Palmer kits somewhere. Just because you don't want to build a particular kit because of the flaws to see doesn't mean that it's trash. If you do have issue's with a kit somebody may have come up with an easy fix for the problem.
  5. Impressive scratchbuilding. Very clean work.
  6. Thieves dragging ATM from bank didn’t realize they left a big clue, Florida cops say https://www.miamiherald.com/news/state/florida/article277592273.html
  7. I agree. It all boils down to how much effort you wish to put into a kit and how interested in a particular car you are. The less effort you are willing to put into a kit is going to limit what subject matter you have to build. Doubt you are going to see a Tamiya 1941 Plymouth any time soon. For what it's worth I've seen some of the 1941 Plymouth and it looks like it builds up into a decent kit.
  8. First AMT was the only manufacturer to do a 1941 Plymouth. Second it would be far more constructive to point out what your objections to the kit are. It would be easier for others to address those issues.
  9. Besides the typical life issues and loss of motivation for a project. There is another aspect to unfinished project. I some cases we've had members pass. Unfortunately there is no indication in a profile that they are deceased.
  10. Memory is an important skill for most people.
  11. Commercials chew up more and more program time in paid programming than they ever did when TV programming was free.
  12. A) sounds like an fitting rant for most social media sites. And now back to a laugh which is the purpose of the thread.
  13. I would not wish to watch watch a movie on such a dark topic as human trafficking. Such a dark topic would only depress me. I watch movies for entertainment and escapism.
  14. Become a positive influence in the world and the world will be better for it.
  15. Would some9ne care to explain what is funny about this. I don't get it and I'm sure there are others. In my book.
  16. Great information. Too often we have people make arbitrary statements about what something should cost without any knowledge of what the actual costs are. Somebody may comment that kit x should cost so much without having a clue on what the costs are. Take the time to understand what those costs are before making statements about what a product should cost. cost. In addition to out of pocket costs there is the cost of time and resources to becoming proficient at doing something like 3d printing. To excel at anything one needs to put in the time to acquire the knowledge to produce a quality product. That needs to be factored into the final cost.
  17. Epochs sounds like it should be the name of alien race in a distant universe.
  18. Great looking project. Looking forward to seeing it completed.
  19. Face your fears to become a stronger person.
  20. This is great information for those of us who haven't gotten into any aspect of the 3d printing. It's important to understand what is involved from someone doing it as a business and not a hobby. Please provide any other information that you feel as relevant.
  21. back to the original topic. Is there a place that has a listing of the 3d files available?
  22. Great points. Although anybody can learn to 3d print or create 3d files that doesn't mean that everyone is going to necessarily going to do it really well. That applies to a lot of things. And yes if those who create 3d files don't get a reasonable return there is no incentive to do it.
