  1. Video stores are extinct becuase of streaming services.
  2. Thanks for digging into this. I agree with your comment on this not being an outright ban . Contrary to what some want to believe Tamiya paints are not the focus of this moratorium. It just happens that Tamiya to use this chemical. I'm am curious what products use this chemical.
  3. First off saying there is a ban is an overstatement. What is actually happening is a moratorium . There was a similar situation a few years ago with Tamiya having to change the labels on the spray cans and it was unavailable for a while. Sounds like a good time to buy and learn how to use an airbrush.
  4. Good choice on not clearing. Can't see that it would have improved and potentially might have messed up a strategy paint job.
  5. Francis thanks for the update. You definitely have a full plate. Take care of your dad. You know we will all be here when you get back to the bench
  6. I wonder what they are doing to get the redirect. What else did they add to that computer?
  7. Hopefully you caught the last of the computer glitches that were out running around. They're known for committing all sorts of havoc.
  8. I have to agree with it being a scam.
  9. Besides the stupidity of the idiots doing the fraud the banks also are contributing to the problem. In this age of computers this never should have happened.
  10. What amazes me is one these idiots didn't think that they were going to have to pay back this money and two is that they did videos of committing a crime and then posting on social media.
  11. The old joke comes to mind I can't be out of money I still have checks left.
  12. Plus whatever they overdrew their account for..
  13. Proof that stupidity has no bounds. On tiktok some bright bulb discovered if you write a check to yourself and you have less than that in your account you can withdraw from that deposit. In their grand stupidity they thought they were getting free money. lol
  14. Back to the drawing board is what Boeing is going to have to do with Starliner.
  15. And the saga continues. Today is the day for Starliner to unlock. Will it crash into the ISS, burn up, or actually make it back to earth.
  16. Even with testing mixing paint brands always has the potential for issues. Companies produce paint systems. Mixing brands means that you have no niceties like recommended recoat times. You used three different brands of paint on your project which is always a recipe for disaster.
  17. Got my copy on Friday.
  18. Cool. Glad to see you back on this great project.
  19. Yup this is spot on. And between the lower volumes in kit sales and the limited appeal of certain subjects it limits what can be produced. In most cases any new kit has to have several versions to make the numbers work. Al5hough that limits new styrene kits 3d printing does allow a larger number of options for subject matter.
  20. Fact or fiction it's often difficult to determine these days.
  21. You have to make the decision if something is worth the price. However you also have to realize that the final price has to reflect the costs to produce thar product.
  22. Considering that buying a airbrush and compressor package if a builder doesn’t think the airbrush works for them why would you buy one if you're not going to use it. And there is a little more than just the cleaning an mastering the airbrush you also have to figure out the mixing ratio for the paints. So not only are you dealing with cost but a learning curve..
  23. Whether intentionally or unintentionally some of the posts can be interpreted as if things aren't done this way it is wrong. I think there are merits to both spray cans and air brushes. It really depends on which works best for you.
  24. You are the master of your own destiny.
  25. I think there is a lot to be pleased with the hobby these days. There has been some great diversity in the kits being produced. The biggest Iissue is sufficient sales to make the financial aspect work. The problem with non mainstream subjects is in most cases the volumes don't exist to justify the development costs for styrene kits. 3d printing will offer more opportunities for those subjects to be produced. As far as the 3d prints and resin kits not having plating I think it is a lack of vendors that are willing to do small volume plating. There is a need for a plating service for the hobbyist. The other option is electroplating parts which is more likely. And I agree with others this thread belongs in the aftermarket section. At this point resins kits are what is being sold.
