  1. I have an original unbuilt 65 that I could check if need be. Have to pull it out.
  2. Lots of good answers. On classic cars, the wiring harnesses depicted are good. Fo exotics or modern EFI cars, there are also harnesses on the engine that control the injectors and often the plugs. Some of the techniques above can be applied to that as well. I did a version of this to my Ferrari SA Aperta about 3 years ago. It was very minimal as was barely visible in the engine bay
  3. Moving to the body, the clean up of sink marks continued. Everywhere a rib or part connection is, a corresponding sink is on the reverse. I did decide to open the hatch on the cab. I will need to figure out how to hinge it. The kit provides the roof hatch, but it mounts on a roof section that then gets mounted to the cab. I assume this is to account for other variants of the Unimog. But there is no reflecting hatch detail on the cab inner roof. The kit comes with an engine, but the hood is molded shut and there is no engine bay detail. So, it is basically a curbside. I think I will let that be and concentrate on detail in other areas.
  4. Neither have I. There were a couple of shops that carried a large selection back about 20 years and it dried up. I switched to MM and have been reasonably satisfied. Likely I'll look to Humbrol again.
  5. This one looks like the 2020?
  6. At our club meeting last night, all the models of the month for 2019 were lined up and the club members selected the 2019 model of the year. My VW Samba Bus Woodie was selected (down to a tie breaker vote). A lot of very well done models were amongst the candidates (3 of them mine) and this model was fortunate enough to be chosen.
  7. Not having a kit of that year, I am guessing your best bet might be seeing if the 1969 to 72 PE set might work.
  8. Haven't seen one, but that "era" Corvette is not high on my build desire. The only Corvette PE I've come across is from Model Car Garage https://www.modelcargarage.com/eshop/pc/showsearchresults.asp?incSale=0&IDSale=0&ProdSort=&PageStyle=p&customfield=0&SearchValues=&exact=0&keyword=corvette&priceFrom=0&priceUntil=9999999&idCategory=0&IdSupplier=&withStock=&IDBrand=0&SKU=&order=0&VA=1 I thought I had come across some metal transfer logos, but can''t find the reference. I do think they were for later models. What, specifically were you looking for in a PE set?
  9. Well, Maisto is coming out with a C8 diecast in the reasonably near future
  10. They are MCG and as Jen said, the tabs should face the driver. See the picture
  11. 409 replaced approximately mid-year by the 396. My Dad bought an Impala SS coupe, but with the 327 - 300 hp engine (and Powerglide tranny ☹️)
  12. Well I started this kit today. On car models I usually start with the body, cleaning things up, scribing and doing any needed customization. As this is my first big rig, I concluded that the frame. suspension and engine were likely the best start points. Getting to the frame, it needed a lot of clean up. Given it is a 30 year old kit, but the mold lines and sink marks on the frame were unbelievable. Took a bit of sanding and some Tamiya putty to clean it up. And, to make the build start official, I glued the engine halves together ?
  13. If I am not too late, I'll give it a try with my first big rig, the Revell Unimog Fire Rescue
  14. I just pulled out my Foose Impala kit. The stock components are there. One exception. The provided engine is a 396 BB with single 4 bbl. The decal sheets include script for a 409. So, you would either have to source a 409 for the engine bay (Monogram 65 Impala included one) or 396 script. The interesting thing is that the Impala Overhauled is a Small Block.
  15. Foose kit has the wheels he designed for the Overhaulin version (although that was a small block), decals, and some dress up stuff. I'd have to dig mine out to see if the stock components are still in the kit
  16. From Revell Newsletter https://www.revell-news.de/display.php?M=24826&C=1fa1f3311dfd1f271ecefcbde84c5eae&S=289&L=2&N=249
  17. Thanks Kevin. I have made several friends and learned much. A Happy New Year to ALL
  18. The Revell Germany site is where you must go and select customer service. If the model is recent or still in production, odds are good. If not, odds not so good. I just got replacement tires for the Unimog Fire Truck, the 20 year version. Mine were "melting". I expected to pay, given the age of the kit, but replacements arrived with no charge. I am sure each case is different, but that would be the place I'd start. https://www.revell-service.de/en/
  19. Looked around but never came across any but the SMS
  20. Will need some tweaking. But I already had the Goldfinger DB5 and didn't want to "cobble" it into a stock version. It even has the figures in it. When I compared that to the DB4, there is less size difference than I expected, given that the 1:1 DB5 is slightly larger. It will be a while before I put this on the bench, but they are getting more rare
