  1. Not much in Vancouver. There is a Hobby Town off Andresen North of Padden Pkwy. But it is not large, and car stuff varies. The best Hobby Shop is in Beaverton, OR. Called Tammies Hobbies. But, if you are doing it weekdays, watch for traffic snarls as you need to get past downtown Portland or use 205 and work your way back.
  2. Well, I was extremely fortunate today. I brought 4 models to the Oregon Society of Scale Modelers Show today and 3 wound up collecting some recognition.
  3. Not difficult if you align them correctly. But, for a two pin setup with a hinged hood you may need to do some extra setup. But the PE pins are so fragile that they'll likely break after a few uses. I used them for my 68 Hemi Dart, which required 4 pins instead of the usual two.
  4. Yep. Forgot about those. No C7 from them though.
  5. They have. The Gen 5 and Gen 6 Camaros are new tools. Can't recollect any other automotive at the moment. I believe their Space 1999 Eagle (at least the larger scale) are new (or significantly modified)
  6. I'd like to see him turn the crank with a ratchet wrench ??
  7. Still in the throes of unpacking everything. May get model room "operating" by Christmas. Almost all unbuilt kits on the shelves. Sorting out the aftermarket stuff (real pain) and dealing with a damaged display case (mover needs to send repairman). Now a member of Scale Auto Builders Assn. May be back for a visit in May. Looks like we may have a buyer for the Palatine house.
  8. Are you in the Lake Michigan Model Car Club?
  9. I stocked up too on what I thought I needed. In fact, at the August GTR NNL, I bought about 3 more to keep in the decal stash.
  10. I'm going to miss those Open Houses, even though I didn't get to many.
  11. He wasn't interested. I mentioned that to him, or the selling pages on FB. He's retired and still has some inventory left. But, he is not trying to get a retail operation going again. As I said, he does sell some of the remaining stock to a couple of hobby shop in the area, such as Model Empire. A friend of mine in the Lake Michigan Model Car Club saw Fred at the Countryside show the other weekend. He said Fred actually bought one of his decals that he had out of stock. He has decided he is going to create a scrapbook of all his decals. Hopefully he'll include photos of the cars they are for as well. Now that would be a piece of Hobby Memorabilia.
  12. He talked about holding it until you follow back with the order. I can have someone try to follow up with him on how long he would hold something waiting for the order? Or, you can make that inquiry if you are interested as part of the letter. Fred's a standup guy. I find it hard to believe this would be a Modelhaus overwhelming order blitz.
  13. Hopefully Fred still has them. Not getting any commission, but he a lot of some decals and very few of others. Worth a try to see.
  14. Since his inventory changes and he isn't making any more, don't send remittance until he tells what he's got and the price. In other words, don't send in a formal order until you hear back from him. Contact him first. And, I'm now 2,000 miles away from Mount Prospect, not 11. So, I won't get many chances to run into him any time soon
  15. I am doing this as a favor to my friend, Fred Cady. I last saw him at the GTR NNL in August. Although retired, he still has an inventory of SOME of his decal sheets. He was selling them at the show. I suggested that he send me a copy of his catalog and I would post it on the message boards and Facebook. If you are interested in any of the decals, send a letter (yes snail mail) to Fred letting him know which decals you are seeking. Include a Self-Addressed Stamped Envelope and do NOT include a Check or Money. Fred’s inventory is constantly changing as he sells it off. He will respond to you on availability and steps to complete the order. Fred does sell to some vendors such as Model Empire, who keep stock on hand. But, as the inventory runs out, no new copies are being made. Fred’s address is on the order form. Fred Cady Decal Catalog
  16. Correct me if I am wrong. I have a lot of ROn's excellent parts, but don't recollect or see the BBC Cross Ram in his catalog. I do see in TDR Innovations. Could the manifold be theirs?
  17. MPC offered this on a 69 Chevy truck chassis and cab. The camper is what is in the Model King release of a few years back.
  18. Franklin Mint did a larger Airstream, but long OOP and quite expensive This is the Greenlight Airstream Bambi that should be readily available
  19. first place to look is Scale Productions
  20. WOW! Looks great. You are an artiste!!
  21. High quality resin, but curbside. Heavy, thick body casting, but not slush molded. If you've seen their postings on Facebook, you get a good idea of the parts. I wish they would do an engine/engine bay and more chassis detail, but you get a resin equivalent of a diecast with no opening hood. Not maligning it, just stating fact. Haven't fully "grokked" them yet. Also, not sure level of detail I want to add. Looks like you are in Scotland. Check out Steve Hemmings Hiroboy store as he does carry them.
  22. Got these at a garage sale (of all places) before we finished up the packing for the move. They made it here safely: These were waiting at the Post Office when I picked up our mail:
  23. Just having a little fun here about building refrigerators or AC's
