  1. black = '53 michigan red = '53 missouri ellyow #1 = '83 nevader ellyow #2 = '53 nebrasker (middle of sheet)
  2. another way i've used is to gently rub the assembled & wheeled chassis on a piece of 120 grit sandpaper "vroom, vroom" style. this can even out 4 spots on the tires so the whole thing sits even. some guys do this a little more aggressively to simulate the weight of the car on tires in real scale ( or 1:1, whatever we're calling it this week). aircraft guys will go to the trouble of bulging the sidewalls on resin tires, but that's not in my handbook.
  3. the grain changes direction from driver to passenger side?
  4. those skin tight uniforms always made me uncomfortable
  5. on the other hand, i undeniably know any 18 year old understands more about phones, apps, and computers, than i ever will.
  6. anyone (else) worry how about light transmission through a light body color showing the understructure ?
  7. it was most likely the Battery Club that brought them down. also, first store to ask name & address whenever you bought anything, so they could send the free monthly flyer.
  8. but you're in florida ... ?
  9. hope you're leaving the lettering as pedimento. i'm in process with an original revell parts pack bantam body and have left the Revell 1962 stamping under the trunk lid. since it was 69 cents then, and a whole 3 in 1 kit was only $1.19 at Flemings, it was way overpriced for this 10 year old.
  10. almost every time i open liquid cement i think of the frogmen & udt boat kit i had when i was about 10. it's been reissued and i, temped to actually build it this time.
  11. i dunno .. was really looking forward to the lift off roof ....
  12. wood-burner?
  13. yup; you're two cylinders short of a full six! always wanted to say that ......
  14. true, and when you modify things to accommodate your body and its needs, you'll feel a heckuvalot better after a rainy sunday afternoon at the bench. just because a thrift store or sidewalk salvaged chair or desk is configured a certain way doesn't mean it can't be changed. legs can be shortened (chair or table - not modeler's!), cabinets, too, or built up higher. ergonomics, light, & ventilation can go a long way towards making building comfortable.
  15. everything/ everywhere/ everytime
  16. reminds me of a Ron White skit: i had the right to remain silent but not the ability ... or words to that effect
  17. i gave up trying to register for the forum after a couple of years http://www.fredsresinworkshop.com/forum/index.php i think the problems were just overwhelming the Owner and exacerbating the health situation. if you're dealing with chronic illness, it affects every aspect of life. even well wishers and meaningful do-gooders get on your nerves. sometimes a guy just has to go down the rabbit hole for a spell ....
  18. bummer .... although i can only imagine the volunteer hours put into something like this.
  19. Dion was too frugal to fly to the Winter Dance Party. he took the bus. i figure if man were meant to fly, henry would not have invented the flathead.
  20. been there
  21. i saw that yesterday on the mega-website and thought it would make a great woody
  22. share how you got the square bents bent? i understand the rod within helped prevent kinking, but how did you get them so uniform? did you need to compensate for spring-back or was the tube soft enough to stay where it was put? thanks; following along here.
  23. $$$ any questions?
  24. i often think that when i see someone tugging on a leashed animal. and letting them ride in the back of pickup trucks.
