  1. These wheels were on the original issue. Some later reissues came with a BBS wire basket style, but these are my favorites. I was going to go with silver or India red for the paint, but there are so many in those colors, I picked a less common offering from the 1979 Porsche color catalog.
  2. I wish there was a source for decals like this. THIS is a model that i keep coming back to look at again.
  3. You guys really raise the grading curve for the rest of us! B-E-A-Utiful!
  4. You did a really good job on this. Congrats! I love this type of what used to be an everyday car. I've started working on a 65 Fairlane in similar condition. Hadn't thought of using BM foil to redo the bumpers.
  5. THis is great! Love the wheels. It looks like something you would see driving around here in Austin..
  6. In the late 70s, Monogram did a pretty great line of curb side cars. (I wish they would reissue them, hint hint.) One of my favorites was the Porsche 924. I got one from Woolworth's for a birthday and built and rebuilt it until there was nothing left. In an attempt to recapture a memory of my childhood, I bought a couple of these on eBay. I just finished this one. This time, it will go on my shelf and not get destroyed playing in the yard! I built it right out of the box with only some mold line cleanup. Even by today's standards, I think this is still a nice kit. The proportions are dead on and it is a fun kit. I was going to do it in red, but decided to try one of Testor's One Coat Lacquers. I really like this stuff. A much better finish than the old brush paints from way back when. Anyway, here it is, glue spot and all. The color is Star Spangled Blue which looked like a close match to Petrol Blue Metallic. It is painted over Duplicolor sandable primer. Rattle cans all the way...
  7. I finally finished a couple of builds! (Pause for shocked silence.) I started on this Revel Snapfast Porsche Boxter a few months ago. I wanted to turn it into something different. I decided to make a Speedster style Outlaw Porsche out of it. For a simple snap kit, it fought me continually. Parts would disappear, the paint was great until the clear coat brought out the red plastic underneath. I stripped it and a bug decided to check it out and on and on.... I finally got it where its a decent 10 footer and called it good! I chopped the windshield and did new hood and trunk lines. I lowered it on special wheels and opened the intakes and put the air filters on the deck behind the driver. It features retro lowback buckets modified from sprint car seats. The fuel filler is in the center of the hood. Custom taillights. I'm thinking of buying another of these to redo it, but for now this will do.
  8. I have about 15 built, 12 that are partly built and maybe 100 that are unbuilt. I tend to make an enthusiastic start and then lose interest for a while, then pick up again.
  9. The one on the left is the drawing I used when I made mine. I just scaled it to 1/25th and printed it out to make a pattern. The other tank is from when I was thinking of making one based on the first bellytanker, before they went to the larger ones. Hope it helps!
  10. I stopped by Hobby Lobby tonight and they have the Richard Petty Kit Car marked down to $14.99. If you've been wanting one, this may be the time to get it!
  11. Looks really good! I really need to get one of these..
  12. THis is super great! I am working on an original issue stock body 924 kit and just received the Group 4 kit. Can't wait to start. Won't be as good as yours, but I'll have fun. Do you, or anyone, know if the bodywork in this kit was based on an actual 1:1 racer?
  13. They just put out the Soapy Sales Challenger and the Cushman Kit car and a couple of others.
  14. I have searched my old magazines, but I can't find what I am looking for. Anyone know who offers the resin re-pop of the AMT Bonneville Go Kart and the Triumph motorcycle with the fairing? Is it still available? Hoping that someone here might remember.. Thanks, Gary
  15. I bought these through seller name teresawulf and had excellent service. I paid and they shipped the next day. I had them within 4 days. They also refunded part of the shipping because I bought two items. The same person has another 27 T right now. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1927-Ford-Roadster-1-25th-Resin-Body-Kit-Jimmy-Flintstone-NB175-NIB-/331791439461?hash=item4d404f9665:m:mcaUo2Oh3T3Nmpuepy47vLw
  16. Looks good. Somewhere four meddling kids and a dog are wondering who stole their van!
  17. That's how Rat Rods got their start! LOL
  18. I asked the lady yesterday and she said they do one major reset and several minor resets during the year. They have the AMT Roadrunner, the one with the yellow car on the front and the Barris Dune Buggy on clearance at $14.99 so far.
  19. I've been thinking about possible ways to build the Mercedes, and will probable do it stock, but there are some other weird ideas out there. How about this one? Not!
  20. You can find some stuff for pocket change, but you definitely have to be patient and keep looking. Oh, and watch for shipping, some sellers offer a cheap starting price and super high shipping. Most of the kits I was bidding on ended up at 40-50 dollars plus shipping. I found some that were in the $5-10 range, and somebody sniped me literally at the last second. I finally came across a couple that nobody had noticed and lucked out. Guess it's like hunting. You have to be vewwy, vewwy quiet!
  21. I think the Ferrari and the Capri have to be next on my want list!
