I sectioned that piece as I just couldn't handle the way it looked, It helped that i also sectioned the body about a scale 3 Inches. Go with what you have and if you need some other grilles bumpers PM me.
You can use whatever you want to primer...that don't necessarily mean the results you'll get is what you want. I use automotive primer in quart cans and this is so thick that I thin it 2: 1 and more. I think you have more experience using gesso so give it a try. Test on some junker bodies or the plastic spoons
Good question. I tried the Second kit I ordered and although it's better (acceptable) I am looking for a clear adhesive to fill the gaps.On a positive note A brief go around on the rear glass with some 400 grit paper yielded a perfect fit.
Glad I ordered TWO kits. Echoing Harry P why should i have to do this. It's a great idea, but now I get a chance to practice fitting another one from the second kit. We waited a loonng time for this kit and this is disappointing. Mike
If you cast these parts as they are you would not need a 2 Part mold. You could also glue and refine the unit and do a 1 piece mold, but the RTV should be VERY flexible. You may get only a few copies.
I never have used Future as a stand-alone clear, but use it to protect decals before a lacquer clear application. Also until I started thinning it about 1:1 wit denatured alcohol, never got it to lay down smoothly.
