  1. And not a single one of the six is in Cymræg nor in Gælic ! Haha !
  2. Outstanding restoration-transformation on that B-bod !
  3. Because that place is a sweatshop . I avoid them at all costs ( literally and figuratively ) .
  4. You've really got your work cutout for you with that ancient kit , @doorsovdoon ! Haha . Ne'er-the-less , you're building a fine example from that sow's ear - the thoughtful painting and careful choice of colours you've elected to employ certainly exhibit themselves wonderfully on this older-than-dirt kit . I like the revised / replaced core support & radiator combo ( looks like you've found a use for the pieces from the equally-ancient MPC et al. 1969 Charger / 500 / Daytona / Duke of Prunes kit . That Pontiac 400 looks quite nice as well . Funny how the interior-side shows an automatic brake pedal and console / shifter for the Super Turbine 300 ( air-cooled 2-speed automatic ) , with a 4-gear behind the actual engine ( an MPC trademarque of yore ) . The white-blue-blue combo is going to look fabulous !
  5. Thank you , one and all for your replies and for your generous offerings . I apologise for my tardy replies ; I have no excuse for my tardiness . I love LOVE that customised AMT 1953 F-100 , @Plowboy ! Your works are inspirational , to say the least . The Cord wheels / tyres look fantastic on your customised Foose FD-100 , @Claude Thibodeau! Love the concept and the execution ! I found the wheels & tyres package I was desiring . Yes , they're of a contemporary nature ( big-diameter wheels , low-profile tyres ) , but of vintage design ; they resemble Fenton 'Sharks' to an obvious degree . Thanks again , one and all !
  6. Looks quite good , @tim boyd . Thanks much for the preview / overview ! Looks like a winner !
  7. Isn't that an M-E-L engine in that kit ?
  8. Very good then . One of the common misconceptions is that all 1970 Chevelle 396 and 454 came standard with Cowl Induction and stripes . I built a phantom 1972 LS-6 Chevelle from the AMT kit some years ago . I'd figured , Why not ? All of the parts are there .
  9. Are you planning on making a correct air cleaner assembly for the engine , and ducting underhood ? The AMT 1970-1972 Chevelle includes the correct Cowl Induction air cleaner , but it's 1/25 scale .
  10. I'm going out-of-box , curbside , with my copy of the '72 . I'll likely do a chassis , etc. , swap on the upcoming '74 Bruce Larson kit .
  11. Yep . Both are H-bodies ( H-Special , et al. ) . I've not seen the AMT Monza's chassis & suspension , only the MPC version ( had countless iterations of that kit throughout the 70's and early 80's ) . I'll have to look into getting a copy of the reissued AMT 1975 Monza . I'd prefer a chassis sans moulded-in / on rear suspension & axle .
  12. That kit's origins date-back some 50 years to the original 1971 annual kit . Unlike the first edition of Grumpy's '72 P/S Vega , the newer issue doesn't have the dreaded moulded-on exhaust . Surely , the rear axle and suspension is moulded-in , but... Short of scratch building an entire chassis and frame , you won't be happy with the kit offering .
  13. My buddy whom manages the local Pup-N-Taco won't be happy with that news !
  14. '66 Chevrolet Malibu SS, Revell 85-4520 (2021) (scalemates.com)
  15. That kit includes all of the stock --albeit , an incorrect Pontiac engine , an artifact of its Ventura origins -- parts , wheels and all .
  16. I'm embarrassed to state that I'd forgotten that I actually have the Lindberg 1966 SS-396 Chevelle in my stash ! Haha ! Not sure why its presence escaped me mind... I'm planning to buy the latest issue of the 1966 'Malibu' ( it's due for release any day now... ) , and will , like you , enjoy building that rascal out-of-the-box .
  17. Thanks much . I see what you mean regarding the windscreen area ; its overhang , its "brow" droops . It's too bad that there isn't a really good 1966 Chevelle available -- without 'bashing' the Revell 1967 hardtop with the 'clip' from the 1966 El Camino and / or wagon ( different sheet metal on the 1:1 between the hardtop & coupe vs the El Camino / Wagon , IIRC ; differently-sized fenders and hood ? ) . Then there's the 1966-specific tail lamps / rear panel / quarter caps . It's too bad , really . I've always liked the Street Freak look of the Monogram 1966 'Malibu' et al.
  18. Me , too ! I could use those Pan American Airlines tickets for holiday to Nice !
  19. Design flaw ? Typical-1970's-Monogram-cartoon-portions ? Moulding issue ? I know that you're quite knowledgeable about the proportions and such of G.M.'s A bodies -- my queries are generalised ; not questioning your knowledge ?
  20. Thanks much for your recommendation . The wheels from the Revell Snap-Tite '57 Chevy do look quite nice -- I'll peruse eBay to see if anyone's got one they've parted-out .
  21. I took the plunge , and grabbed a factory-sealed Foose FD-100 via eBay , as I've wanted one ever since seeing many awesome build-ups on this forum . The only "complaint" that I have -- and it's not a knock at Chip's design nor execution -- is the tyres and wheels . I just can't bring myself to use the kit's wheels , as they're too , um , modern for my taste . Now , are there any kits or aftermarket ( Pegasus ? ) wheels which will fit with little to no wrestling and modifying ? Please share photos and links / sources . Thanks much !
  22. @Dragonhawk1066, That's a stunner ! Personally , I prefer the first set of wheels ; they compliment the car's boxy lines better than the second set of wheels . What're your plans for the interior ? The factory offered white with red accents ( dash , console , carpet , etc. ) .
  23. My thought exactly . Dark blue with red stripe is gorgeous !
  24. It's been a while since I've perused this source ( see link ) , but I believe that the AMT Pinto kits didn't receive bumper guards until 1973 : AMT | Scale Auto Model Kit Reviews & Reference (proboards.com)
  25. Sounds like 'San Francisco-East' . Hipster junkies and homeless camps , indeed . You should see Downtown L.A. these days -- every overpass of the Harbor Freeway is a block-long tent city .
