  1. That green shade is called Alpine Green ; I *believe* that it was used on the "--V-71" engines , maybe on the "--V-53" and "--V-92" as well ; basically , the V-composition engines . IIRC , a yellow was used on the inline engines of the 53 and 71 Series . I had one of those Nylint promo tractor-trailers --- but , I was young and artistic and , well , it didn't survive my youth (1980 was the last year I had it --- a Christmas gift from 1973 ) .
  2. If you're open to a suggestion : the 250 OHC-6 engine would be fab !
  3. This will be fun to follow , as I've never seen a built-up 1968 Barracuda ! So many cool features on the '68 (first year for the 340 , etc.) . A friend had a '68 hardtop Formula-S in Q5 turquoise ; it was a 383 / auto powered model . Looking forward to following this one , @mrmike!
  4. Thanks much for rectifying the popup issue , @Dave Ambrose, et al.
  5. Sharp looking companions ! Being the "wait staff" for that super girl Tortoishell isn't a surprise ( haha ) . For some reason , Torties and Calicos --not breed-specific marques-- are concurrently independent and codependent... Which is how my precious , late Molly Anne was .
  6. Ever since the 80's --when I was in my teens-- I've been saying , "Strive ! For Mediocrity !" , as a goof on the "motivational" poster in my high school councillor's office . I was already cynical and bitter by age 15 , 16 ; I saw what the future held , and I felt defeated by grade 10 . I quit my last job because of the way that the owner ran his precious operation : snatch defeat from the jaws of victory ; harangue and admonish everybody ; labour violations ( class action suit changed his tune quickly -- someone got tired enough of the dehumanising , and decided to nail his butt to the wall ) , etc. , etc. I also got sick of seeing part-after-part which weren't made in the U.S. ( or Germany , England , Japan , etc. ) , and the mediocre "quality" therein . Certainly , that last statement isn't exclusive to the parts store I worked at . Add the "Participation Trophy" generation I had to endure --when and if they decided to come to work-- and I was just done with it all .
  7. Both very valid points , albeit potentially mutually-exclusive . Tired , stressed , hungry , etc. , employees are apt to make counterproductive mistakes ; this a potentially very dangerous action... life-threatening at worst . Yes , the media embellishes via hyperbole any event , however minute ( depending upon which sponsors are writing the pay cheques ) . As @Tom Geigerpointed to ; any anomalies are subject to rejection in-regard to immunisations / inoculations . When did mediocrity become the high-water marque ?
  8. That same one which I was seeing yesterday is gone today ( as of 07:00 HRS , Pacific Time ) .
  9. Welcome to the hobby ! The best kit which I can recommend for cutting your teeth would be the AMT 1963 Nova Wagon that's been recently restored / updated / reissued . Great decal set ; ridiculously simple construction ; lots of fantastic detail (engraving is outstanding ) ; simple to paint . The kit practically falls-together seamlessly ! There's virtually NO clean-up involved (other than washing the parts before primer / paint) -- no mould lines at all ! Soon enough , the AMT 1964 Olds F-85 / Cutlass will be released --- another restored / retooled classic which appears to be just as sweet as the aforementioned Nova Wagon . Personal Preference : I suggest Tamiya or Gunze-Sangyo paints , and a variety of adhesives ( Tamiya 'orange cap' cement ; Tamiya 'green cap' "Super Thin" ; dollar store super glue ; Mod Podge Gloss ) .
  10. DeSoto Fire Dome with two custom-only inductions .
  11. The AMT 1953 F-100 has its roots in 1962 ( give-or-take a year ) , but has held up amazingly well in spite of ad infinitum reissues . I recently built the c.2015 issue ( same box art as the original ) , and the only 'issues' I'd encountered were : - Excess flash on some of the parts - The provided tyres are too narrow for any wheel other than the stock wheels Believe me , its upsides vastly outweigh any of its age-related shortcomings .
  12. Any updates on your WS23J8 , @StevenGuthmiller ? Or is it on hold until you get the interior back ? That Hemi engine is coming along nicely !
  13. Here's an article about a male British Shorthair Chimera and his kittens : Chimera Cat Fathers Two Kittens With Each Of His Colors - Go Animals
  14. Hoover is a handsome boy ! Love his marques and his tail ; he looks like he can be a brat for sure (haha) .
  15. I've been shopping / purchasing from eBay's sellers for more than 10 years , and I've only encountered two issues out of hundreds of transactions (both were rectified between me and the seller) . Whenever I purchase an item from a seller , I'm prepared to wait upwards of one month for its arrival (within the continental U.S.) , and I've never been disappointed . Sometimes a tracking number is provided ; other times , a 'guesstimated' delivery date is provided by the seller . I try to purchase from sellers from my 'Saved Seller List' ; sometimes , they don't have what I'm looking for . With that in-mind ; I look at a seller's feedback-to-sales ratio . From there , I peruse their feedback ; what items were sold ? Were any complaints legitimate ? I summarily dismiss any "it took two weeks to get my item" critiques , and focus on "package arrived damaged ; contents okay" , and the whatnot . I'm almost too understanding I suppose... I know what it's like to deal with logistics , individual seller or brick & mortar store type . I also never leave negative feedback . Heck , I've never left 'neutral' feedback for that matter ! I only provide positive feedback , even if the item(s) arrived well-past their expected delivery date . I avoid amazon [sic] at all costs . That clown doesn't sell anything that I need badly enough that I can't find elsewhere... even if I pay more for "x" item(s) .
  16. I apologise if this isn't the first time that this has been proposed : I wonder with which plating service that the now-defunct Modelhaus contracted ? Their plated items were --in my experiences at least-- the best ! I recognise a couple of 1973 & 1974 Plymouth Duster bumpers on that rack , @GoodbuildNY! Too bad that the spares that I have a marqued for projects , otherwise I'd send them to you at no charge .
  17. Gravity-Fed Waterbed ! "I'll sing you a song with no words and no tune Tweedle dee bite To sing in the khazi while you suss out the moon, oh yeah !"
  18. That Continental Mark IV looks sweet ! Wonder if its dies were scrapped ( hope not ) during the 'great purge' ?
  19. Here's a 1971 Road Runner with the standard hood and 440 Six Barrel engine : 1971 Plymouth Road Runner (americanmusclecarmuseum.com) . The 1971 GTX shares the hood with the Road Runner .
  20. Excellent ! And , here are images of the c.1986 build-review by @tim boyd of the then-new 1987 Turbo Coupe : Photo: DSC 0352 | Late model automobiles 1980's, 1990's, 2000's album | Funman1712 | Fotki.com, photo and video sharing made easy.
  21. I love it ! Was that a brief embrace before the 'toilet paper ticker tape parade' that our feline family members are famous for ?
  22. The Old Car Manual Project Brochure Collection (oldcarbrochures.org) , is a nice reference . For Chrysler products , Hamtramck Historical is tough to beat . The non-seq. images ( e.g. , Porsche appearing in a Chevrolet search... though it's possible that a specific-search like 'small block chevy engine' could algorithm conversion kits for SBC Chevy-to-Porsche 914 ) are frustrating .
  23. Exact menudo . I ordered one from Model Roundup about ~one month ago ; I'm personally in no hurry to receive it . Thank you never-the-less , @Casey , for posting the availability of this long-awaited beauty !
  24. One of my favourite kits from back in the day ; this Thunderbird , and the Monte Carlo 1986 . These then-new kits were groundbreaking for their time : separate headlamp lenses , better detail , and more realistic than their predecessors . In late 1986 , @tim boyddid a build-and-review of the 1987 Turbo Coupe . The article appeared in (the now-defunct) Scale Auto Enthusiast ; a fantastic article , should you be able to find it . I really like how you made the alternator bracket , and the interior door pull-straps ; they are perfect ! What are your plans for this ? Factory-stock ? Customised ?
