  1. Made his debut in this 1970 horror / stop-animation film , Equinox . He's credited under his birthname in the film ; the 'Bonner' nom-de-arté was employed later .
  2. Heck , even I overlooked that panel separation line ! Good catch !
  3. Thanks , firstly , for your detailed reply . I can only attest to my own experiences , past and present ; health , dental , vision , etc. When I was young , my mum had outstanding insurance ; she worked for the telephone company ( G.T.E. , which became Verizon a few years before she retired ) , and they offered excellent benefits. I can only recall her and my dad talking about how " The co-pays are increasing , and the coverage percentage hasn't budged [ since prior to 1980 ]..." . Long story short , that $ 1,000 / year which was covered by the insurance company for dental , was amazing in , say , 1975 , but was a pittance by 1980 , ad seq. I pay out-of-pocket for visits to my G.P. ( primary physician ) , as he doesn't accept the health coverage that I have via Covered California [ et al. ] . I'm fine with that , as my rapport with him goes back 20 years . He did accept my insurance ( Blue Shield ) when I was employed , but the co-pay was ridiculous . Truly , it's not much more than my out-of-pocket payment --- this whole reverse-deductible mess which is the common practise in the U.S. these days , is a joke . Truthfully , I don't trust most of the dental practitioners on the regional Covered California roster . Oftentimes , their offices are located in the same centre as , say , an oil change / lube garage , a dry cleaners , and a donut shop . Then there's their 'assembly line' manner of handling patients ; you may not see the same Dentist more than once . So , I pay O.O.P. annually for x-rays / cleaning at an office that's in an actual medical centre ( haha ) . Those trips cost me +/- $ 110 , which is a bargain . Prescriptions are zero cost ; lab work is zero cost . I'm quite happy with the coverage that I have . I wish that I had a more comprehensive , all-encompassing answer for you , but unfortunately , I don't . Suffice it to say , the 'reverse-deductible' which most folks are stuck with here is a ridiculous notion and practise .
  4. I now have a question for our fellow members whom reside in Canada , Europe , etc. , etc. : Do you folks have good dental insurance ? If so , is there any out-of-pocket expense ? *DISCLAIMER* I'm definitely NOT inquiring about this for any reason other than my curiosity . I'm NOT attempting to "back-door" a political argument .
  5. As one whom has a propensity toward vertigo , and having a mostly-manageable anxiety issue ( side bar : I subscribe to the 'GABA Theory' as it pertains to panic / anxiety ; I summarily dismiss the serotonin theory... ) , I've always found trips to the dentist to be a frightening experience . I'm not concerned with the credibility of the dentists I've been to over my 51 years ( pædiatric , then three 'adult' practises ) , but rather the environment of the respective offices : oddly-angled furniture ; overhead contraptions ; bright lighting ; Medieval appearing instruments ( " Is it safe ? " ) ; and the "floating" sensation from my brain's recoiling in horror . I have some molars which need to be extracted , and I MUST be "knocked-out" for the procedure . Since my sinuses dip-into my gum line so deeply , the chance of 'perforation' of my sinuses is great. Even the Oral Surgeon asserted that I need to be anesthetised because of the high-probability of perforation . Because of the anesthesia , the otherwise-simple extraction is now a $ 1,750 ordeal . So , yeah... been putting-off having that cost-of-a-rebuilt-transmission procedure performed .
  6. While I'm not complaining , I must wonder : Is this the second-and-final iteration of this kit ? Isn't a 'full-detail' version on the way ? I'm digging on the trailer and the accessories , but am hoping for an 'actual' engine for the car .
  7. Perfect . That's what I have and am going to use .
  8. Wonderful colour choice ! Those gold-ish stripes look really good against that blue ! I just grabbed a can of that same Tamiya paint yesterday for the AMT '64 Cutlass Convertible ; what colour of primer did you use as a base ?
  9. !!! WOW !!! Those appear as though you just completed them yesterday ! While each one is splendid in their own right , it's that quarter-scale chassis that's the most outstanding .
  10. Seems like a high-risk-to-questionable-reward ratio . If someone has to gear-up like they're entering the Chernobyl reactor , then that seems like a "stay-away-from" product . Seriously , though : what's so fantastic about 2K clear ?
  11. Hopefully something a little more durable ( not that the Molotow is weak , it's just not a handle-or-touch-it-a-bunch-of-times finish ) . I ordered one just for giggles ; I'll test it upon its arrival .
  12. !!! WOW !!! What a radical improvement ! That as-purchased "thing" looks godawful ! Palmer , indeed ! That's probably thee best 1/32 scale model car I can remember seeing .
  13. After watching Chris' ( @hpiguy) unboxing & build of this kit , I'm terribly tempted to buy one , too ! Is this an old ERTL 'tooling-restoration-and-improvement' project ? I'm truly impressed by what seems to be a 100% new kit ! That cab interior insert (door panels , headliner , sleeper ) is perhaps its finest appointment ! Now if only the pickups and passenger cars kits would have this feature ! According to Chris , this kit "practically fell-together" . That's always good to hear when working with any kit , and especially a tractor . (1) NEW MOLDS! INTERNATIONAL TRANSTAR CO 4070A SEMI TRACTOR 1/25 SCALE MODEL KIT Build Review AMT 1203 - YouTube
  14. Thanks much ! It's so rewarding to have finally completed a kit after so long . Thank you ! I was surprised at how well the photos turned out -- seems like the de facto spot for photographing my kits . Thank ! Had lots of fun (and a few moments of colourful language) building it . Thanks much , mate ! If not for the right-front tyre appearing as though it's off-kilter ( it's not ; it's the stucco surface ) , it'd be even more realistic . Thanks ! When I first heard rumblings about this kit being restored and released , I just knew that I was going to paint it a light gold metallic colour . Me mum had a '63 Chevy II two door coupe ( sedan ? Had fixed B-pillars ) which she purchased new in '63 . It was a light gold colour with beige interior... and practically zero options ( AM radio was it . It had the 4 cylinder , and what I could swear was a floor shifter by the photos . I'd read somewhere --back in the 80's-- that there were a handful of 4-speed 4 cylinder Chevy II's made ; my mum wouldn't have added the option , nor did she ever modify it in any manner ) .
  15. Say , that looks like the interior tub for the phantom 4 door Barracuda !
  16. Thank you ! The perspective of the car appearing as though it's a '1:1' parked in a driveway is purely coincidental --- that's the ideal location for photographing my models .
  17. Thanks kindly . Perhaps I should crop them ! Thanks for the suggestion . Thanks much ! I can't wait for the pending full-detail version ! Thanks much ! Lots of fun in this kit !
  18. Plastic , at least in this iteration . IIRC , the diecast versions are already decorated .
  19. Thanks much ! It was a lot of fun . Thanks much ! I was pleasantly surprised at how 'in-scale' the finish turned out ; just the right amount of gloss . I try to avoid having to colour sand and polish finishes , but sometimes it's required . Thanks much ! I'd have to say that painting and detailing that one-piece chassis was the most fun out of everything on this kit . With careful selection of factory-type colours and finishes , plus some washes to bring-out details ( oil pan bolts , trans pan bolts , character lines , etc. ) , these one-piece underpinnings can look convincing . Thanks much ! It's such a fun kit ; Round2 did a great job with the resto-new tooling of this classic . Highly recommend it ! Thanks much ! Such a fun kit that with a little effort will provide a convincing replica . Haha ! Definitely applied the parking brake -- don't want for that Powerglide to slip-out of 'Park' and roll-down the hill ! It's too bad that I didn't take the photos earlier in the day -- I couldn't get any decent interior shots due to the natural shade ( the wall is on the eastside of the apartment ; I took the photos at around 13:00 P.S.T.) .
  20. AMT 1963 Nova 400 Wagon : After a few hiccups , I've finally finished my copy of the excellent 1963 Nova 400 Station Wagon . I'd learnt some things along the way which I'll apply to the next one I build ( front wheel mounts ; tail lamp bezel & lens ) ; and , in spite of my hyperbolic reaction to the "fiddley" mounts for the aforementioned front wheel assemblies , it's a GREAT kit . Paint , Body : Tamiya Champagne Gold Metallic over -- {{ GaSp ! }} -- the bare plastic ( which was lightly scuffed for adhesion purposes ) . The flawless finish was treated to a few coats of Testors' Wet Look Clear , and that was it -- no wet sanding , no polishing . Brightwork was accomplished with Molotow Chrome pans , and Silver Metallic Sharpie . Tamiya Panel Wash , Black was conservatively-applied to the respective separation lines . Paint , Interior : Tamiya Dark Yellow over Tamiya light grey primer . The 'carpeting' is finished in Tamiya Flat Brown ( so-so attempt at replicating a rubber-vinyl floor mat ) ; Molotow Chrome on horn ring and window cranks . The red rotary-dial phone was painted Molotow Chrome on its backside ; its dial with Silver Sharpie , with a black centre . The 'Mascot' is interior colour with Tamiya Panel Accent , Dark Brown for shading . Chassis-Frame : Red Oxide Primer , followed by body colour overspray , and finally , Tamiya Matt Black to replicate undercoating . Engine oil pan is Testors' Chevy Engine Orange ; transmission is Gunze Burnt Iron with the oil pan finished in Testors' Flat Steel . Various washes and highlights were applied ; suspension and subframe painted Tamiya Semi-Gloss Black ; leaf springs , drive shaft , etc. , various metal colours . Rear licence plate is from a sheet of California : 1963-1969 plates from Best Model Car Parts . The one which I chose is a 1966-issue ( the "R" at the beginning = 1966 ) . Here's a few so-so cell phone photos ; I'll get some interior shots when the natural lighting is favourable .
  21. Sharp companion , @Earl Marischal! He resembles me 'Barn Cat' whose name is Tæo ❤️ . Just so happens that me beloved British Shorthair was named 'Olly' ( Oliver Nathaniel Hawthorne Sabastian , 04.JUNE.2003 - 03.SEPT.2020 ) . Your Olly's fur has a lovely sheen !
  22. Yes ! It truly does have that look to it --- definitely a compliment of the highest order . That has got to be the most unique and interesting , outstanding execution , FoMoCo I've seen , @carbuilder1950!
  23. Excellent choices !
  24. May I make a suggestion ?
  25. Either way , that unique bench seat will look great , @mrmike ! I can already 'see' the finished product ; reminds me of the Buddy Seat mod that you did years ago with the 1968 Charger R/T Build-Off . I'd imagine that some thin , half-round strips would be perfect , but that's easy for me to say from this perspective . Keep up the GREAT work , my good man !
