  1. I can empathise and sympathise with your personal turmoil , @echoxrayniner. Thank you for addressing concerns and for explaining - expounding upon - the "twigs and berries" of offering cottage industry business. When you get your affairs organised , I would love to purchase a set of the 1971 Demon 340 decals (please add the Sizzler hood decals, hein ? The MPC kit's decals leave a lot to be desired - including the lack of a template for the centre portion of the aforementioned Sizzler decals ( the 1:1 was a full decal, IIRC...) in addition to the full complement of decals fitting of the '71 Demon). Thanks !
  2. Dr. Holden Cox , urologist
  3. Weight saving move, and only for the A-990. Some of the owners added back the inboard lamps (high beams on the pedestrian models) .
  4. THEM was Van Morrison's band, whose song "I Can Only Give You Everything" was 'covered' by the MC5 in 1966 and released as a single
  5. The only thing remotely "pedestrian" about the A-990 is the dashboard with that radio ( a true A-990 is a factory racecar - no radio, no heater, no rear seat, no inner headlamps , no undercoating / sound deadening , no jute backing for the carpeting , and a single wiper . Aluminium fenders and hood and hood scoop (fiberglass was not permitted for 1965) ; Lexan door glass and backlite... and that kit-correct single exhaust , as well as a spare tyre ). Those cars were lightweight rattletraps , not at all meant for street operation ( 4.89 ratio 8.75" rear , "Crash box" 4-speed or reverse-pattern manual valve body - on the steering column ! - Torqueflite ). I only wish that Moebuis would've provided a Torqueflite as an option. Heck , the oil pan for the 727 is on one of the parts trees ! It would seem that the A/FX Dave Stickler version includes the dashboard-sans-radio - maybe a resin caster / 3-D maven will offer that at some point ?
  6. That was part of the Model Master lineup . Beautiful shade of silver, too ! I last used it some 22 years ago on a 1971 "Satellite" ; first time was on the then-new Revell 1969 Dart GTS 383.
  7. I positively love the colour choices ! Gorgeous build-up ! Now I've gotta track down one of these bad boys... Should I get one, I'll paint it like the one I'd see around years ago : white-on-white with dark red accents. Keep up the great work !
  8. I've perused his page / offerings, but it's a no-go with the 1971 Demon decals.
  9. I was looking forward to receiving the set of 1971 Demon decals I'd ordered back in January , but Ray cancelled the order. I'd figured the decals would take about six months to arrive to my address in the U.S. - I can wait, no sweat - and when I'd enquired about the progress (print run, shipping, etc.) , Ray pro-offered a 2nd decal sheet of my choosing ; this was due to the delay. I don't and wouldn't expect some largesse simply because there's a delay, and I mentioned that ; mentioned that he needn't "make up" for the delay. That was in April - my order was placed in January. When I noticed that others' orders were being fulfilled - in July - I emailed Ray again, and again enquired whether this batch was part of a shipment to the U.S. Ray apologised, then he refunded my purchase. This was before I could reply that I didn't want a refund ; that I was just planning my build , and wanted an ETA, and most importantly, only wanted what I'd ordered . It was too late. Now that decal set is discontinued. With all of that being said... I don't fault Ray, nor do I harbour any distrust of him nor his cottage business. Should that 1971 Demon set be offered again, I'll buy one or two.
  10. I believe that a compromise would do the trick : optional, clear doghouse and an optional clear hood . I agree with your assessment , and thank you for presenting a more detailed approach to my (unintentionally) lacking "1971-1977 [&] 1978-c.1983" proposal.
  11. I admit that I'm a rattle can feller 99% of the time - however , I do have a Preval [sp?] rig for the purpose of spraying MCW type paints ( I have a bottle of their Chrysler Citron Yella [ Dodge ] / Curious Yellow [ Plymouth ] , code GY3 , slated for a couple of 1971 - GY3 was a 1971-only colour -builds coming up.)
  12. The tooling for the MPC Dodge Vans is so ancient as to be , well, not worth the effort to backdate . The only 'real' solution , in my shared opinion , would be all-new tooling . I propose two iterations : 1.) 1970-1977 2.) 1978-c.1983 The option to build these as either a Tradesman (sans windows / lights) or a Sportsman (with windows / lights) .
  13. The newer reissues - I only have the Rescue version - have a separate hood in addition to the moulded-on hood (c.1975 - c.2010). The option exists ; this is the best of both worlds : separate hood, but with the rigidity of the moulded-on hood.
  14. MCW offers it in their enamel line : Enamels (mcwfinishes.com)
  15. I'm having a devil of a time recreating the centre portion of the Sizzler 'decal' for the 1971 Demon. Does anyone have a to-scale template ? Measurements ? Bain't that I'm a fan of the kit's decals -- I'm amazed at those whose builds employed the kit's decals with no issues (I've used decal softer and 'aggressive' setting solutions , but still end up with trash), Thanks !
  16. Didn't the same thing happen to Listerine back in the day ?
  17. Teachers - of the female persuasion - in their twenties make middle school and high school a , um , "difficult" time for teenage males
  18. By the time the symptoms present, it's already too late. My mum succumbed to pancreatic cancer in 2005. It was rough and heartbreaking to observe a 72 year old who looked like she was in her 50's , turn into a 90 year old over the course of 5 months.
  19. Fun House is the 2nd album by The Stooges , released in 1970
  20. 1971 ( 1972 also ) Road Runner. I'll take one in Curious Yellow - and the "Hemi , three-eighty-three Hemi" engine ?
  21. One of my "guilty pleasure" cars is a BMW Alpina 'M6' (et alia). I've always loved the lines of the M6 - just a gorgeous car ( especially when unfettered by the U.S.-mandated bumpers and other garbage) !
  22. LS-6 was cancelled as a Chevelle option before production commenced. IIRC, a prototype / pilot model was assembled with the 425hp 454 , but it didn't make the cut - Corvette only engine for 1971 . But, your proposition is sound - and easy to replicate in-scale !
  23. Looks like someone doesn't like vacuum advance !
  24. Circles , green in nature
