  1. That does look good. I didn't realize the Testers kit had recessed panel lines. I've got the Academy Bearcat on my to-do list. Tentative plan is bare metal with French Indo-China or Vietnam AF markings.
  2. The cynic in me has to agree with this. Particularly young or new builders who may not know the history of old subjects and get a big letdown when they open the box after plunking down $20 (for the cheap kits). Personally, any old tool that gets me in the ballpark of something I can work with is good enough to root for. Hooray Round2, I hope this pays off big for them.
  3. It's hard to comprehend this was entirely created out of almost nothing and didn't exist prior. You are an artist.
  4. There could be some trickery to make a real one look like a model. But I think Teresi could pull this off EASY. Gonna say model.
  5. Our hobby level of copyright infringement, I believe, is not a viable threat to manufacturers. But it is an annoyance, a reputable quality concern as well as an infringement on the licensing they had to hammer out. I think an initial request to cease and desist is fair and reasonable. If you're defiant, you deserve legal action. That said, I would hope model manufacturers would be okay with a little hobbyist-to-hobbyist vending. I would hope they'd see the value in home-produced copying of "smalls" to supplement and maintain interest in the kits they're marketing.
  6. Just got my copy. As mentioned, the crisp detailing is quite exciting. So why is the most garish ridge on the model right in the usual place on the outer bumper and covered in chrome? I'd be interested in knowing why that's still the only place to put a seam and why it's the worst of any seam in the rest of an otherwise almost flawless kit?
  7. Jeepers that's a clean build. That dash is amazing. Yeah, Darcy, I don't think you'll be anonymous here very long.
  8. Haven't seen the Gremlin yet. But now that you mention it...
  9. Oh, that's a beauty. I think that's about as complete of a look at one of these as I've seen. Can't go wrong with those Matador wheels. I'd like to have a set cast. Hey, welcome to the dark side Darcy.
  10. My Nephew piloting out of Nellis AFB. My desktop's too messy for a screenshot. There's room for icons to not get lost in the photo.
  11. But he used metal foil to mask it. Just kidding, I've always wanted to see how Alclad would look on trim. Thanks Curtis. I certainly see the realism, but I just couldn't trust my skills. If you get it wrong it's gonna look really wrong.
  12. Ah yes, another splendid wagon. Well done.
  13. As chunky as the TKMs are, I've always thought the potential is there to make them come to life. This is sort of a proof of concept. It would be an interesting challenge to see how far a person could go with one of these. Nice work.
  14. I know they're just photos but I'm pretty sure I detect that "recovered old car" smell.

  16. Don't look now Tomo, but you're a full fledged, card carrying modeler. Anyone who can curse a project, express dissatisfaction, yet still persevere, remain passionate and push through to the end is a true modeler. Doesn't look so bad does it? You made some good choices, covered a lot of territory and dared to try new things.
  17. How likely is it you would use 45 colors? I guess I'm the sort who'd recommend caution about putting the cart before the horse. You're loading up on a lot of supplies before you know what your needs are. However I admire your vigor for the hobby and look forward to seeing your efforts.
  18. Just to be clear, are we talking about painting stainless steel trim or black trim. I guess the answer to both would be Bare Metal Foil. Burnish it down and trim the excess off for silver accents. Or as a paint mask as mentioned above.
  19. Excellent. I think you hit all the marks. Everything looks right. Those wheels man, I think they were worth the money.
  20. I really like what you're doing here Niko and your efforts are paying off.
  21. Absolutely superb. The detail is magnificent and an interesting subject. I shudder to think of the hours in this.
  22. Stance. You get the wheels wrong it'll never look right.
  23. Your engine detailing always leaves me speechless. Okay, I guess the rest does too.
  24. Hoochie-mama! Heart be still!
