Multiple sheets of photo etch... There are about 1200 parts altogether in this kit. The engine stand that you solder together is included. Pros....Everything about this kit is first class. From the instructions to all the beautiful parts. Cons...I do wish the rest of the motor would have been included. There is no exhaust or turbos/air boxes included and no transaxle. Price point is high, about $1200.00 There is a WIP thread started in the All The Rest section by Pascal from France. Hope he picks it back up as he has posted in awhile. Randy

Hi Folks, I received this kit recently and thought I would share a what's in the box review. This is a limited run multi media kit from Michael Trape, a well known large scale model maker from Germany. A few pics of the completed model... This is a multi media kit containing every thing needed to build the model above. Kit is shipped in a sturdy box weighing in at over 5lbs. Parts list and instruction manuals .... Smaller box inside of the big bow holds all the hardware, wiring, and machined parts.. The rest is a whole lot of really nice 3D printed parts...

A recent addition to the project pile. Ferrari 288GTO Engine kit in 1/4 scale from MWT Modellbauwerkstatt-Trape. Michael Trape is from Germany and is well known for producing beautiful very limited run large scale models. The pics of the motor are the actual kit built up by Michael.

Hi Folks, I would like to thank the people that took the time to peek in and those that took the time to comment. It really is appreciated. I doubt that any video showing my banging around on this body will ever come about:) For my friends who are curious, I am using tools and techniques from the jewelry making world. Slowing figuring out "chasing" ""planishing" hammers, using different sizes and shapes of "stakes". Pretty much just beating copper sheet between two harder surfaces:) A pic of some tools.. I think I am on my third attempt to get the front end the way I want it..... Slow progress but am starting to get the hang of beating the metal and not leaving to many marks !! This update is to show some progress on the bodywork. I was attempting to do it using aluminum but have not mastered the art of soldering that metal:( Maybe next project. Going with copper sheet stock. After wasting a lot of time trying to build a miniature English wheel, my friend Steve " Muncie " told me that what I have going here is a "hammer and dolly" project. Well ...yeah...he was right. Light bulb goes on and progress is made:) Starting with the front clip that tilts forward. Figure if I can master these curves and shapes the rest is a little easier. I use p.e. parts from Detail Masters as guides for scratch building parts. I glue them to white metal or aluminum stock then file to shape.. This has been epoxied together, with some paint it starts to look like a cast part.. more....

Tim, I really need to get to work but I keep getting sucked in looking at your build threads:) Okay, Next up for this little motor is the rather loooong distributor that comes off the front of the head casting. It even has it's own V notch in the framework. For a 4 banger there are alot of wires going on here. Twin plugs, twin coils and two outside condensers.... I showed the beginnings last update that were mocked up. The gear tower and the base of the spacer that Maserati used... A ref. pic for the spacer from the site of an 1 : 1 English shop that does some really cool stuff "Crosthwaite & Gardiner". The color engine photo above is their work. More.....
