  1. Explained here: Sorry, that takes you to the end of the thread because I already read it.
  2. This hood is really thin and soft, and mine has a little warp to it as well. That said, if you want it, it's yours. PM me your info and I will get it out by Saturday. BTW: as a former '68 owner, I am peeved by the rear markers on this kit. They are correct for the early build cars and the "factory" Wimbledon White race cars, but incorrect for the stock 68 1/2 GT 428 CJ cars. They were all built late in the year after Ford changed the quarter panel and the marker.
  3. I will look when I get home. Mine is being built as a CJ, so I should have a spare hood that I would be happy to send you.
  4. Which hood are you using? The Cobra Jet one with the scoop, or the 390-style hood with the indentations for the turn signals? I probably have one of the 390 hoods. (Not all kit versions have both hoods)
  5. A coat of the floor polish of your choice?
  6. Except the inventor was German, so the actual prononcuation is using a "V" sound -- Vaŋkəl
  7. Mac folks don't matter, LOL (j/k)
  8. Not my pic, but this slightly interrupted our trip to dinner tonight. Auto transport trailer with three GM U-Haul vans aboard tipped over exiting the freeway on a slightly off-camber left turn from the offramp. The chaos lasted for at least 2 hours.
  9. You know this is a South Park reference, right? Warning: potty words in the video.....
  10. I don't understand the year wait, but at this point I think I would just go drive it around at steady speeds of 40+ for a few miles, and then some stop and go. Then take it in. Chryslers of that era don't seem to be particularly hard to complete all the monitors. In fact, pre-2000 you can have one incomplete monitor and still pass. I think the chances of you getting pulled over for expired tags is pretty slim given where you live.
  11. away from shoplifting
  12. Was unseasonably cool today in northern California for this time of year. Had a bit of rain. Air was totally calm. Annoying neighbors' yappy dog seems to have disappeared, hopefully eaten by a coyote. Too cold for the other three neighbors' grandchildren to be screaming and thrashing in their pools. Got a new bar-height outdoor table to commerate 33 years together and 30 years in the house. Nice dinner of semi-homemade spaghetti, salad, and wine outside.
  13. alt + 0162 if you really want to use it ¢ ¢ ¢
  14. I owned a 1:1 '67 GTA in the late '70s and it was "corporate" blue with chrome rocker covers and air cleaner lid. The '66 had a chrome open element air cleaner like on the 289 HiPo.
  15. I will miss him greatly. He was always a voice of reason and intelligence on the forum.
  16. OK, here's one for you fans of Moose and Squirrel.
  17. Saturday night, a dear friend treated us to an amazing birthday dinner in my honor at her son's restaurant (the actual day was last Monday). Beef tartare, salad, and we ordered the chicken, the salmon, and the gnocci to split. Amazing bottle of champagne, and an amazing bottle of wine with dinner. Cheesecake for dessert. Then we went home in an Ecto-1 RAV4.
  18. We have been banking with Chase for many years. I know what their texts look like. I received one recently when I transferred a significant amount of money to another bank. It was something like, Did you just transfer $xxx to blah blah account? Yes or No. That said, I hope folks pay attention to their email and texts and know which ones to ignore.
  19. Not only did I see it, I rode in it. Owner is part of a local Ghostbusters cosplay group, he also drives for Lyft. All that junk on the roof rattles a bit, and like most Toyotas the shocks had nearly zero rebound damping.
  20. This kit should be bought and built as the timepiece it is. If you want to kitbash it with the '67, it can be done. The shock towers and underhood area is a bit different on the 1:1s, but most onlookers won't know that.
