  1. Carl, I am very sorry to hear this. I wish that I could send you self-building models or something to help comfort you. Hang in there....
  2. No, that was the VX220 and Opel Speedster. I don't believe that Vauxhall got a version of the GT/Sky/Solstice.
  3. containing alligator poop
  4. That Citroen blue looks very nice. I could see it fitting in on a number of 60s American cars. How hot is that paint? Plays nice on styrene with the right primer?
  5. Thank you +1
  6. Amazing. As I have said before, I am constantly stunned at how "Our Friends Who Don't Live In America And Have Probably Never Laid Eyes On A 1:1" seem to always knock it out of the park with their builds. Thanks for sharing this, and don't be a stranger to the forum!
  7. This is all great information. I am tempted to decant my Acapulco Blue Model Master before the can dies.
  8. I have dabbled with casting small parts, with varying degrees of success. I would much rather buy the parts though, I have little enough time for building anything as it is. I totally "get" that most of the kits with issues are old tools (not old fools) and aren't up to the standards we expect from newly tooled kits like the Revell Chevelles, 69 Camaros, etc. The resin Ford and GM boosters I mentioned are from FAB Resinworks.
  9. I got these on eBay a few years ago. They were designed for the AMT and MPC pickups which have even less under the hood that the Jimmy/Blazer. It was too long ago to show up in my history, and I don't have the original package other than a Ziplock bag. Obviously, they screwed up with the quantities, but at least I have two master/booster combinations, two wiper motors, and three HVAC housings, one for A/C. The seller may have been Hopper's Bazaar, but it has been too long ago to remember. Maybe this kind of thing will reappear again with the reintroduction of the Fleetside and Racer's Wedge kits. The Revell Camaros have a very nice Bendix booster/master combo that would be good on most GMs of that era, but I don't want to buy a kit just for the booster. I have been lucky enough to get a few of them from generous forum members over the years, here and SA both. I have some resin Midland-Ross boosters that would go on Mustangs, Torinos and such. I don't remember the caster, but they also make GMs.
  10. Sometimes the leftovers are better than the first round.
  11. ....is a failure.....
  12. Agreed. After all these years, this is one of these kits (along with the Blazer) that I have had in my hand at the LHS many times, but it has never followed me home. If one does, I will probably either strip the chrome from the kit wheels and get some dog dish caps or order a set of the 15x8 6 lug "rallye" wheels and some suitable tires from Fireball. I have some resin engine compartment pieces I bought on eBay a few years ago that solves the lack of underhood detail on these and the MPC pickup versions. But that roof looked like a hot mess. I am sure that it could be fixed and glued to the body.
  13. Put a row of apple trees in the background of your pumpkin patch and you have explained the "orchard".
  14. Actually received this yesterday. After reading the Mill City thread in the resin truck forum, I ordered the GS convertible trans kit from eBay. It only took two days from Minnesota to California, so the Post Office isn't screwing up EVERYTHING right now. It appears to be a nice casting, but the top is kind of thick and amateurish IMHO, almost like different people made the masters for the body and top. I thought there was just enough flash to protect the windshield frame, but I managed to break it while taking it out of the box for the photo. I have a MCG PE fret on the way as well. Planning on a GS Stage 1 version, probably my favorite A-body. I *think* I have the original yellow version of the GSX donor kit in the stash. If not, I will have to hunt one down or wait for Revell to reissue it.
  15. Revell '66 Chevy has decals for an orchard and a dairy, IIRC. Not exactly pumpkins though.
  16. Watched that last night. Not impressed by the fit of the roof or rear window.
  17. HÃ¥kan, I am really happy to hear that. RoG seems to be kicking stuff to the US as well. Happy news for the hobby.
  18. +1 on Burbank's. I like that they are on "My Coast" so the shipping is quick. They also seem to discount from MSRP on many kits, so that gives me warm fuzzies as well.
  19. Don't limit yourself
  20. Thanks for the tip on the woodgrain. I have one of the 66s and have been searching for the correct shade for the outer wood trim. Everything seems too dark or too yellow, although I think that the 66 trim was lighter than the 63-64. Coincidence that both you and Paul live in the Redding area?
  21. Yeah, somewhat incomplete thought. What I really meant was that I have seen pictures of the '68 in a RoG box and it may be easier for him to get one in Europe than some of the other US vehicles.
