  1. I'm another guy who would like to see that Monogram Land Rover released again. I've seen it built up, but I've never owned one myself. The examples I've seen have all been over $100. Now If I wanted to take a hit for the team, I would buy one of these. That would instantly result in the kit being reissued! Here's the three that pop up on an eBay search: IF Revell has this tooling, it would make sense to release it as a Revell of Germany kit. I'm sure the rest of the world would be more apt to buy this than the US market.
  2. Nice work on the Riv! I remember when I was a kid, my parents friend had one and I didn't think it had headlights. I worried about driving it at night! I didn't make the deadline with my '50 Ford truck. Sign me up for the next round! It really doesn't have all that much work left, but we'll see how July goes. My daughter will have the twins this month and I see at least one more trip to the west coast! Also, sign me up with that '57 Nomad I promised Sam I'd work on!
  3. That's cool! Glad you saved it! Not a bad model for a teen back in the day either!
  4. Not that difficult. Buy another of those Pinto kits. Then buy a Monogram Mustang coupe kit. A bit of cutting and grinding to mate the two!
  5. The '53 Ford! The colors are perfect!
  6. I saw it! There were many display cases of all kinds of cool nostalgic things! I looked quickly as I had a tight connection. Wish I had more time, I would've photoed it all.
  7. No accomplishments this weekend! My goal was to power wash the deck around the pool. Yesterday, I got a slow start because I took the Buick for inspection. I finally get home after lunch and drag the power washer up to the pool. It's hot and humid, at least I'll be wet. Then I notice the sky getting angry... I go in the house and all hell breaks loose! A storm rolls through with hail and the emergency warnings go off on our phones. Our power goes out! Storm is over, it's now nice and cool out. Everything is wet and and the sun is back out like nothing ever happened, still we don't have power. It finally comes back on as it's getting dark. No power washing! Today I get out there early and start. I get about half done and the hose on the power washer blows out!
  8. My Nomad dates back to the late 1980s when I got back into the hobby. I had just finished the 57 Ford and started the Nomad, never to finish it!
  9. Cool, you are on Sam! I am back home from a week away, business trip to west coast, so I got in zero model work done! I’m still plugging along on the 1950 Ford but will drag out that Nomad
  10. Saw this neat little Beetle out near Kirkland, Washington on Wednesday
  11. Very cool!
  12. I wanted to use Facebook for family and friends, but the model aspect is taking over my feed! My wife will ask if I saw something about my cousin and no, my feed is all model car stuff!
  13. The oldest kit in my collection.... I didn't build it. And people have the nerve to complain about new kit releases today!
  14. I seriously wonder how many modelers will actually even notice the rear end? I know I'm as anal as most of the guys on this board, and I cannot tell rear ends apart. Once it gets down to the general public, the consumers of 99% of kits, it's immaterial.
  15. https://public.fotki.com/modelcitizen/11_car_reference_library/light_commercial/mobile_home_deliver/ I think you are further along than needing my help, but here's a photo set I took back in 2005. This truck came to my work to take away a construction trailer.
  16. Thanks and a good coincidence! I will be flying United through SF on Wednesday! BTW, this is hanging from the ceiling at the Seattle airport. Came through there on Sunday!
  17. Thanks! Until I read this, I was about to post that I'd have to decline! I've been way too busy lately with my new job and am in Seattle this week! July looks like a lot of travel too!
  18. Very cool! I have the original release, not the food truck version. They restored one of these on Wheeler Dealers, you may be able to find the episode. And there is a company in South NJ that imports the 1:1s
  19. I have a similar one. I found it sitting out front of a house on bulk garbage week. I had to drag and pivot it into the back of my Geo Tracker convertible! Still stuck out the back swinging door, had to tie it open. Scratched up my interior! Mine had bad wood grain contact paper on it. I've had shelves made for cabinets in the $10-20 range per shelf. Get the front edge rounded. Extra cost but well worth it!
  20. I have one similar, maybe not the exact same year though. Mine came to me with three holes drilled down the center of the engine cover. Yup, right on that character bump!
  21. Back when my kids were young and involved in town sports, they made all the fathers work two Saturdays as “Field Day”. They just took these untrained office workers and set them loose on equipment! They had an International Harvester large mower that was essentially a small tractor. On my day they asked, “Can anybody drive a tractor?” I got the job because I was the only one who could drive a clutch! So off I went to mow the fields! On a day when I wasn’t working my family and I were headed up the gravel path towards the fields to our game and here comes the tractor the opposite direction spitting rocks at everyone. I jumped up on it and disengaged the blades. Nobody had told the guy how to do that.. he didn’t even know he had to do that!
  22. Oh no! Not a Pepsi person! And I liked you! ?
  23. I was just looking at the Coke version of the 32 Ford sedan delivery.. phenomenal decal sheet of Coke logos of different eras!
