Thanks! Ken's a stand up guy and will deliver quickly! He does have some neat stuff on his list. One of the unique items is the correct air cleaner assembly for tri-five Chevys with a six! I bought the correct Ford six for 1957 as I intend to build a postal vehicle out of the new Revell '57 wagon.

Range Rover Police

Hey, it's not about how you screwed up, it's all about how you recovered! And you learned something in the process! Great model! -
Steve, the example I showed in this thread was a house that was sheet rocked. I decided to rip it all out and gut it for a number of reasons, one being the multiple layers of decorating on that old sheet rock. From orange peel, to paneling cement, to the wall paper museum (several layers) in some rooms, I just wanted new, clean surfaces to work with. For a small house it took a few days for a crew to gut it and less than a week to rock and tape! Well worth it.

how to remove glass from rebuilders
Tom Geiger replied to michelle's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Michelle, you have been growing your skills with every build! If you need glass, front or rear, for any kit, I think you are up to making it from sheet plastic. When I say "sheet plastic", that can be anything from a Coke bottle, to any product packaging, all the way to buying Evergreen brand sheets. It's not that hard, especially if you have ruined glass to use as a template. Here's a few items that will help. The Recollections brand tape is a scrap book item. It's available at Michaels, Hobby Lobby, etc. It's thin clear double sided tape that I use to install windshields. Once you have your window taped in, then go around the edges with the Micro Kristal Klear. Between the two products you should be able to hold your new window in place, even maintaining the curves when using flat plastic sheet for starters. -
There isn't much depth to the lettering on the 1:1 hubcap. May be better handled with a decal. That's how I was planning on doing mine before I knew you were working on caps.

I received my order to do the Steinbeck GMC camper the other day. Fantastic quality! The propane bottles are insane with detail too!

1953 Ford “60s” Custom Pickup

Very cool! There once was a question on a board asking if you were stuck on a desert island and could only have multiples of one kit.. which one? I chose this kit because there are so many things you can do with it. -

Very cool! It gladdens my light commercial soul! For a final detail, add a scale to the back. Scale should be very easy to make! -
REVELL Metalflake Kits
Tom Geiger replied to Bucky's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The metal flake bodies were a Jim Keeler invention. Jim was a modeler and a local contest winner. He got hired at 18 into Revell as a product manager, since he had insights into the teenage market since he was one. Jim is still around, attends the GSL and sometimes posts on the boards. As he told the story... A salesman came into Revell with the metallic flakes. Jim was looking at them and wondered if they had a use. He took some out to the factory and asked someone to put some into the clear glass shot machine and see what it looked like. And these kits were born! As said in the thread, they didn't work all that well and weren't that well received in the market place. Most of the kits got built without paint like the photos in this thread and didn't look good at all with glue showing etc. -

Made me-self some grilled wings last night! The Sweet Heat is the sauce I use while cooking so the pedestrians can have wings. The Spicy and their Wicked Wing Sauce is kept on the side of my plate for dabbing! -

Hey Adam! Fun progress and a wild little engine. I'll have to see if my local HL has those on clearance. That would be an interesting engine to put in little street rods. I saw your description of the top end of the engine as devoid of detail, so I had to take a look at what should be there in 1:1 for myself. With Google as my friend, I input "Subaru Brat engine" and a mess of stuff popped up! I don't have a copy of the AMT kit handy, but could this be why they didn't bother to add much detail to the engine? The spare tire was there in most every photo I found!

Prowler wheels.... Yea, they're worth eight bucks! -
Same view! My last renovation on my New Jersey house. House was about 80 years old with good bones. Real 2x4s and tongue and groove siding! So I figured what the heck and did a total renovation. New everything. All new electric, plumbing, high efficiency heating with a/c and high efficiency water heater. Interior included all new insulation, sheetrock, doors and molding. New carpet and flooring throughout. All new kitchen and baths. Added a bath. and a laundry room on second floor. Exterior is all everything too! Total cost was around $80,000, but it's a new house. Haven't regretted it for a minute!

Overnight some neighborhood jerks tossed my lawn furniture into my pool. And the tossed my trash pail full of lawn debris in too. The furniture is bad enough since they did toss it in the deep end, but now the pool is full of leaves and weeds. Not fun. I reported it to the police and have sent it to my neighborhood email chain. The last time we had an incident, it resulted in a father dragging two boys to my front door to apologize. No doubt neighborhood kids. Little felons!

Valiant VC Wayfarer Ute This one is my itch to scratch! I've always wanted a 1:1 VC Ute. Maybe with my lottery winnings! My buddy Alan from Perth brought me a resin copy the last time he visited. -
White Castle is an acquired taste! Usually from having them since you were a kid. It will be interesting to see how they do in Scottsdale where nobody has the nostalgic memories. Ever take a newbie to White Castle? It's fun to watch their face!
