What irked me is that we went to a party yesterday with my wife's circle of friends. One of her closest friend's husband is an ass. He drinks too much and attacks me with his purely fantasy political views. After he spewed at me and stormed off, my wife and I decided it was time to go. So yea, we don't need politics here!

Jo-Han 62 Chrysler 300 hardtop

I think the Johan interiors are as bad as the chassis. They are too shallow and sometimes didn't even have trans tunnels. Johan test drivers had very short legs. There is work that can be done to lower the floor to add some realism. -
Lookin' good Mate! I'm pleased to see the RHD conversion too! I've been kinda stuck in the Monogram Model As recently, a phaeton isn't far from happening here !

It won't go well! On my stamp board, there is a message center like this one. There is also a sales area, two forums... one where you can just buy items outright and a second which is an auction. There are two distinct types of people who use this board. Those who share information and forge friendships on the message board, and those who buy and sell on the sales area. Very few people are on both sides of that line. Those who sell, are primarily self described dealers. In the category I mainly look at in the auctions, there were 800 items listed, 600 of them from one dealer. All overpriced past retail. Very few sales. Why does he park his stuff there? Because it's free! That dealer has never posted on the message side. All the fireworks on The Model Car List was due to selling. I left there years ago in disgust. I checked out a few of the Facebook sales sites yesterday and chuckled at the administrator notes admonishing people for poor behavior. Do we need those folks here? Then we will get the scammers, or at the very least the guys who must come out on top of every deal. Just like in the Pay It Forward... "I'm happy to take your Johan Oldies Kit, Here's my Ollie's $8 special in return". Which is exactly where it went!

No, just that one photo! That was just something I whittled up in an evening or two. I got frustrated with the Revell chassis and put it aside. It's on the list to finish.

Similar problems! The above one loves to sit in that spot near the creek. She'll sit there all morning some days. And here's the herd, you can walk right through them and they won't budge.

My bench is a hollow core door too! Mine sits on top of two old night stands. And yes, my very best models came off of it!

I would ask your buddy with the 1:1 trucks if such a rig would have a spare tire. It's not like the driver could change it. Would a truck like that just call a mobile tire repair service? I love the beam. That is one huge mother!

God bless your mom Jim! May we all live this long!

Ditto! I love pics of old trucks in the wild! -
We have enough deer here that you can't plant gardens, it's just called "feeding the deer". The only place I have flowers and such is inside my pool area fence. Elsewhere I've had to plant deer resistant stuff like Lambs Ear and Veronica. And they'll eat that too if they're hungry enough!

Following the money... they probably have a big order from Walmart for diecast and Johnny Lightning. Probably contractual. They paid Coke for so many kits, so many units? Note that the kit new tool is Star Trek.. snapper molded in color for that TV and Movie Memorabilia market.

JoHan USA Oldies

I bought a bunch of the Lindberg 64 Plymouth and Dodges to get the slant sixes. That leaves me with complete chassis for early 60s Mopars. I'd like to try that chassis under some of the Johan bodies. I do have a '60 Desoto that's not doing nuthin' ! -

It's not even like steps were demolished or anything! Maybe it's "No Soliciting" at it's finest? -

We need more pictures and information! I believe you said that's the Franklin Mint diecast Falcon.. what did you do to it? Progress shots? Engine etc?

Oh yea! This is Duplicolor gray primer with Duplicolor blue over it. Then since someone in my club was crowing about One Coat Clear, I tried it. Over all that detail... what was I thinking. It somehow drew out the red plastic through all that Duplicolor. You can see the difference in the decal areas, and in the rear side windows which were the clear unit. It also dissolved black Sharpie that I had used to touch up some details, including panel lines. This episode definitely sucked. This is now the silver truck I finally finished.

I went to your page and read your latest report. I love the work you did on the decals. Upon buying a kit, you wouldn't even think that the decals would be that far off. Glad you pointed that out. I was surprised that I didn't have a Brat in my massive stash. I thought I had all the loser cars, especially when they were available at shows for $5-10, I'd just automatically pick them up. In comparison, when I started my recent Datsun pickup, I realized I already owned two different versions of that kit! I was at Hobby Lobby yesterday and I would've bought a Brat if they had one. They did not! Soldier on!

That is pretty cool! A good use for a broken body too! I have a few VW projects up in my unfinished project pile I need to get back to. This is inspiration!

Those are the two most radical A100s I've ever seen! Great work! Great imagination to put it all together!
