  1. You all are right on the price! 5 bucks for the Avenger, the 7.99 price was for the 1/48 XF-88 VooDoo, the F-8 Crusader, and a couple others that escape me now. I passed on the ships, Lindberg's WWII heavy ships are quite crude (I learned the hard way last year). Did score a nice 1/24 37 Ford hot rod for the engine/chassis setup. Your Avenger is looking really nice! Did you use the kit decals?
  2. Cool project! I like how that car looks in red, but then I like most cars in red. Black with red interior is wicked, too. A handsome body style like that can wear pretty much any color and look nice, though. I'd love to see it wear the Keystones, and the post above was spot on in that it looks like a late 60s high school hot rod. It just needs some yellow traction bars and cherry bombs below!
  3. Shaping up nicely! My nearby Ollie's has these for $7.99 right now, so I'm glad to see what's in the box before I jump! This doesn't look bad at all, and your build is particularly clean; I really like the Atlantic color scheme.
  4. That's VERY effective; and thanks for sharing!
  5. That interior is SNAAAZZZY!
  6. I'm loving your choice of colors, and your build is very clean so far. Keep it up!

    67 impala

Both those colors have potential! Very nice non-bellybutton-color for a 67 Impala. Will follow this one.
  8. I'll be watching this one with interest. It reminds me of a 4-door Bonneville I almost bought a few years back. I have regretted it ever since, as it was a very solid body with the original engine and drive train intact, and the factory interior was nearly perfect. It was an icy-blue metallic with a tri-tone blue interior.
  9. This is what building models is all about; a very clean rendition of a car as YOU want it!
  10. Oh yeah! The engine is especially nice; well done.
  11. Very cool idea, and you can never go wrong with red!
  12. If you hadn't included the ruler in one picture, I'd have thought you were pulling our collective leg! This is just fantastic crafting.
  13. I'm partial to black with a red office, but this car can look cool in SO many combos! Looking forward to this build.
  14. Cool rod!
  15. That looks WAY better than I would expect for that attachment method! Cool stuff, but in your pics, at least on my screen it looks a bit bluer than I'd prefer. Is it perhaps more green and less saturated in person? Very curious to try this! Thanks for posting.
  16. Much improved head, and a neat build over all!
  17. Get some dirt on that body! Primer grabs dust like nothing else, so it's nearly impossible to keep this clean! Very cool build.
  18. That brings back so many memories; that one was my introduction to Dave Deal's models at about age 10, and I was blown away by the very idea of a 3D caricature! I loved the humor in the instructions, I loved Dave's drawing style, I loved how well the models translated his look, and I built every one I could find back then. Thanks for sharing this one! Nice save.
  19. Well done; I gotta get one of these! Got all the others in the stash.
  20. That is really nice! Your scratcbuilding added much realism, but it's so...clean! Where's the dirt?!!
  21. Very nice build; very authentic appearance!
  22. Very clean build, can't wait to see it completed! Cool car.
  23. That's about as good as an IMC kit can look, IMHO! The IMC tools ended up in the possession of Lindberg, who would occasionally pop them out, though I don't recall them releasing this particular kit. They are, however, responsible for my most-hated and reviled plastic disaster: the '48 Lincoln. Open the box, and you hear the sounds of orphans crying. ( and me, too) Beautiful picture of of a REAL Lincoln on the box, plastic inside would build just as accurate a model of the USS Enterprise as it would a Lincoln of any year...
  24. Period perfect! Nice looking build here.
