  1. I lucked into this one on eBay some time ago. It was glue bombed and since it had been left unpainted, the plastic was beginning to crumble. The top of the windshield frame and cowl both broke while working on it.
  2. This one's a hybrid. The body, chrome, interior, windshield and top are from the Jo-Han kit. Engine, engine compartment, chassis, wheels and tires are from the AMT Chrysler 300C. The only thing I would change if I were to do it again would be to take the mounts for the rear suspension off the frame and move them about 1/8" forward.
  3. Combination of Model Color, Army Painter and Citadel paints for miniatures, Revell Aqua Color acrylics, craft acrylics...
  4. Stupid thought, but what about RIT dye? I've heard of people using that to tint plastic lenses on glasses.
  5. I use a combination of things to clean up after stripping parts: toothbrush, bamboo skewers, needle files, the tip of an X-Acto knife... There never seems to be one solution.
  6. Most of it went together okay, but the worst part was the front suspension. It's really odd to put together especially since the steering is supposed to be poseable, especially with the front springs. I just glued it all together. The engine installation is funny, there's no transmission crossmember. It's very obviously an older kit. I've got the Nomad version of it, I'll have to build it sometime as well.
  7. This one came out really well, I think. I took the interior tub apart and made new window cranks and door handles. The colors are Duplicolor Olympic white and Tamiya pearl green.
  8. This is similar to what I do. I step out the doorway and spray, then back inside to thaw.
  9. Ran to Hobby Lobby for supplies and while I was there hit the clearance section. Got an AMT 1964 Olds Cutlass 442 reduced to $7.49
  10. My wife and I were out for lunch and coffee today, decided to go up around Dublin, OH. There's an area up there called Shawnee Hills, and next to the center with the coffee house was a car lot. Parked out front was a Porsche Carrera, a couple of Bentley Continental GT's (coupe and drophead), a 1971 Mustang Mach 1 convertible and a Jaguar E-Type convertible. Edit: Forgot the Rolls Royce.
  11. Very nice looking Firebird! Excellent paint!
  12. Had this one for a while partially completed, and finally got the foil work done. Not perfect, but I think it came out pretty good.
  13. Ow! My Wallet! Definitely interested in the new Mopars.
  14. Very nice! I love the color!
  15. I'm watching this one! I hope you can salvage her.
  16. Looks great! Very nice job!
  17. Awesome job! Got one of these in the stash, might be a soon coming project.
  18. Gorgeous!
  19. Love it! Gonna have to get one of these. I've heard the "real" Herbie had an engine out of a Porsche and was surprisingly quick.
  20. This is beautiful. I can't wait to see how it turns out.
  21. If I remember correctly in the show, both versions appeared side-by side. Jethro had the hot rod version built and he and Granny ended up in a race. She beat him stupid because she fueled the old truck with moonshine.
  22. 007 1971 Mustang and "Super Boss" Chevy II Funny car. I love Ollie's.
