1937 HRG roadster

Plus, the suspension is what used to be called "under slung" since the axle and the frame are mounted under the leaf springs. -
1960 Patina Chevy Pickup
espo replied to Nosferatu's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I think you nailed the look. Sun baked all summer and left out in the one or two winter rain storms. Left to sit out for a few years and this is what you get. Like the way you did the seats and the rubber floor mat. -
Great looking build. The tires look good and no separation line showing.

Great looking paint finish and body trim. These always look so sinister in black. Like the "skunk stripes".

Like that you're going to save this Kustom. The quad headlight styling started after Detroit started putting quad headlights on cars in late '57 and mainly on the '58-year models. The headlights here remined me of what you would find on a '59 Chevrolet. This is based on the details running between the headlight openings that look just like the '59 Chevrolet. The taillights look like the '56 Packard lights that were popular with many customizers. The grill looks like some of the generic custom parts that AMT put in a lot of the early annual 3 in 1's. The pencil lines on the hood look as if he may have been playing with the idea to "pancake" the hood. Did the half roof come out of the AMT '50 Ford Convertible kit? That kit and the '49 coupe had a bunch of custom body options.

Like the Ranchero. Wonder who the supplier was, any markings on the chassis plate. The reason I ask is that maybe if you could find the grill and bumper parts from one of the old AMT annual kits if they wouldn't work as replacements.

How Stable Is The Plastic Used In 3D Printing?
espo replied to oldcarfan's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I have found some parts to be a little more on the brittle side than the normal kit plastic. As Rick L points out there are more than one type of materials being used and I really don't know which resin was used on the parts I had. I think like anything else there will be a learning curve for both the producers of 3D parts and the consumer. The big advantage is that for a reasonable price you can get parts to build something that you wouldn't otherwise be able to based on the kits available. -
Beautiful looking paint finishes and colors. The interior looks great with the outside colors. Like the sunroof option.

Loosen the lid on Testors enamel square bottles.

Another idea if you don't have any thinner handy. Place the bottle upside-down in a container of warm water. This seems to have the same effect as using thinner. Remember to clean the inside of the cap along with the bottle opening so that the paint doesn't reseal the bottle. -
Great looking paint and clean body trim. The interior details look good as well.
-
Great looking color and finish. The white stripes look good.
-
Beautiful looking paint finish and interior. I don't think my work bench would be big enough to build a 1/12 scale model. Like the engine detailing and the interior trim.
-
Great looking build and the correct company colors. Lots of fine detailing on the body trim.
-
Beautiful looking "full dress" Eldo. Like the attention to the fittings in the engine compartment. The color with the contrasting vinyl roof looks great.
-
Great looking paint color and finish. Like the hub cap and wide whites look, especially the flat head engine.

About your issue with the panel between the seats. Could the floor covering be stopping the part from sitting flat? Maybe just scraping a little flocking to clear a clean glue point for the panel.

I also like the way this was weathered. The front push bar/bumper looks like it could be home made. -
First non distressed paint job

I agree with Chuckyg1 on your interior. What did you use for the material inserts on the seats? -
Great looking finishes and paint detailing under the hood. Built one many years ago when it was issued in yellow plastic, color matches yours, Just polished it and also added the camper shell. My six pack is done as Coors Beer.
-
Great looking classic color combination. Your photos show the excellent detailing done inside and out.
-
Great looking paint color and finish. Like the cleanly detailed trim and interior.

The most extensively detailed build that I can remember watching. You could write a book about what and how everything was done on this. In some of the pictures you have to remind yourself that this is a model and not a beautifully restored real car.

Built the racing version of this kit for a friend a few years ago. Look forward to watching your build especially with the added detail kit you have.
