  1. Great looking paint finish and body trim. Like the wheels and tires along with all the chrome suspension hanging down. The engine looks the part, more drag than street, but looks good this way.
  2. Great looking color and finish.
  3. All painted and trimmed out this is great looking. The stock air cleaner dose sort of sit up a little. Maybe hollow out the inside of the air cleaner so it will sit down further on the carb.? You mentioned the mild custom look so maybe just a lower profile air cleaner would help. Looking at your build it is hard to remember just how old this tooling is.
  4. Are you going to do a solid color or a two tone maybe along the design that GM used on the Nomads?
  5. I agree with Mike about the distractions of life overtaking a project. I have also noticed how a build will pop up that has a start date over two years ago and I don't recall it, but there it is starting back up. As for a build you may be looking at that and the posts just stop leaving you to wonder what happened. I suggest clicking the "Quote" button and post your interest in the build. This will alert the builder that someone is interested in the build and what has happened to it. This will give them a chance to let you know if it is stalled out or if it has been posted in Under Glass in which case you can maybe find it there.
  6. Ordered the conversion parts from Texas 3D to make a copy of a Baja style type 1 I had years ago. As for a 4-wheel drive I would like to see someone offer a kit of the JL Wrangler. Until recently we owned a JK Wrangler and did get to enjoy off-roading with it. Personally, I'm partial to the two-door body style as it is more maneuverable in tight places off road. The four-door body is a bigger seller since it is easier to put the whole family in. The new Pick-Up body is really popular in our area, but for off road they are not as maneuverable either. All that said I think any of these would be a good seller. Future pick Up kits should be offered as either a 4X4 or a 2X4. Everyone is excited about the new Round 2 Ford Broncho which leads me to believe that there would be a market for any of these other kits as well.
  7. Great looking build. Like the paint finish and the new convertible top. Enjoyed looking at your other builds as well.
  8. A thought on the roof chrome trim. You mention weather or not to add chrome trim above the roof drip chrome moldings. While the lower line cars didn't have chrome in that area, just the drip molding, the raised area portion of the roof where the chrome trim would have been attached is still there. Going with the lower line idea try and find some pictures of a stock car and look for the difference. I think if you lightly sanded the rib design that is just above the drip molding making it flat but still a distinct ridge above the drip molding it would look just like a lower trim level car with that area painted to match the roof color if that's the way you want to go.
  9. Is the chassis from the AMT '55 Chevrolet two-door post kit?
  10. Started this a couple of years ago. In the meantime, we have moved, and it took another 6 months before I could get my model room built in the basement. My idea was to build something like a Chevrolet Prototype that the styling department was trying some advanced designs beyond the 1960 model year. The body changes are along the order of what came on later model year body styles. Added what Chevrolet used to call a Panorama Rear Window. Never cared for the '60's hood so I used one from the Revell Suburban kit and closed the front air inlets. The grill is from the old parts box and from the Lucas style head lights it would have been during the '60's. Added side moldings to the bed much like the Camio Carrier models from the late '50's. For the interior I used some strips of plastic for seat moldings and decals from Scale Motorsports for the inserts. The body is painted with Tamiya TS-49 Bright Red and TS-26 Pure White along with Clear. The bed wood is done with several different shades of color to try and look like wood grain and covered with flat clear and chrome foil runners. Again, with the Prototype theme I found a Chevrolet 348/409 engine since they were offered in the bigger trucks why not put one in a Prototype C10? The white walls came in the kit.
  11. After seeing all the great looking builds of this kit, I wanted to build one as well. The body required only a light clean up. I did tuck the bumpers and the grill just a little. Lowered the suspension about a 1/4" front and rear. Used the kits Magnum wheels and tires. The engine has been wired and plumbed. The body color is painted Tamiya TS-89 Pearl Blue with a couple of coats of TS-65 Pearl Clear and a coat of TS-13 Clear. The interior is done with the Pearl Blue and TS-58 Pearl Light Blue and a dusting of Flat Clear to knock down the shine. I feel that Revelle has made many improvements with the way different components are attached as well as fitting together. The "glass" is remarkable thin and no fitment issues at all. The same can be said for the headlights and all the other lenses. Already have another in the "to do" pile.
  12. Thank you for sharing your photos. So many great looking builds.
  13. Great looking work truck and everything is cleanly put together. The cab lights and other parts make this look just like something the highway department would have. While it is only a nitpick and not to criticize but consider some small blocks on the bed floor to keep the floor jack from beating up the inside of the bed. Don't ask me how I know about such things. Like the clean overall look of this truck.
  14. Consider looking at some of the Moebius kits for parts. Older AMT Chrysler 300 kits would give you a good Hemi to work with and an upgraded interior as well.
  15. Beautiful looking paint finishes. Like the way you brought the bed and the cab/chassis together.
  16. I can see why you have won all of the awards. A lot of intricate detailing everywhere you look on this. The paint work really stands out, but the attention to the interior detailing catches my eye as well as the engine.
  17. Great looking Charger. Even out of box the engine looks good with a little painted detailing. The wheels I think were called "Victors" by American Wheel.
  18. The console is a big improvement from what was in the kit, and the steering wheel looks good.
  19. I agree with Justin on the body work. These cars looked great in almost any color, so paint it the way that looks good to you. I do recall a Butternut Yellow and a Willow Green Camaros that ran around town. The Maroon Mt. color was used by GM for a long time, and it does tend to show the body lines well with light shadows depending on the light. The Plum Mist was a springtime release color in '67 and is not seen as often as some of the others, but it does look good.
  20. Wow, that's a really big gap between the dash and the lower window molding. Do you have an old AMT '55 two-door post model in your stash? Maybe try that dash and see if it fits better.
  21. Great kit and since it sounds like you're not opposed to removing the side trim that takes care of that problem. A friend from high school drove a base '58 2 door post car for a few years. Built one some time ago and did it in the red & white colors. I used the 2-4's from one of the Chrysler Hemi cars with the offset air cleaners because it fit, and I thought it looked good. You already have a lot of pictures of 1:1 builds for ideas. Build it like you owned a real one and have fun with it.
  22. Round 2 might have the best possibility of offering a GM Colonnade bodied kit. AMT had offered a NASCAR kit of a '75 Chevelle at one time. This could be used as a basis of a stock bodied car. While the Monte Carlos and Grand Prixs made up a large number of this body style sold, there are those that prefer the Chevelle, La Mans, or Cutless models. These also made some great looking wagon as well as the El Camino. Remember Round 2 was the one that went in and changed the old AMT '67 Impala SS into a four-door hardtop. While some of these body styles are available from some resin casters I think most would rather start with something in styrene. Just remember one thing when wishing for some company to spend some large sum of money to develop a kit, you 'all saying you want it had batter buy it or they realize that despite all the requests if no one buys it you just lost a lot of operating capitol, so what are the chances you'll try that again?
  23. Beautiful looking Nova and a fitting gift to someone who will appreciate it.
  24. Looks great and the body and interior colors are more what you would expect on a big Benz.

    '69 Camaro Z28

Beautiful looking Camaro and like that you used the optional Rally Sport grill. Cleanly done exterior trim and interior.
