  1. Extensive reengineering of the entire kit. The chassis looks very believable as does the engine. Great looking paint work and the interior. Ford could have sold far more of these instead of the pedestrian model of the GT40 that they offered at one time.
  2. Really like looking at all the small details on this build. The finishes all look great on every part you look at.
  3. Always liked the subtle look of the Thunderbolts. I was at the Winter Nationals in Pamona when they first ran in the NHRA and were mopping up the class and that has always stayed with me, I guess. Wonder about the front wheels? Are they the early Ford wide fives or VW's? This color would be a good base for some dealership livery or some other sponsor.
  4. Great looking color and smooth surface. The interior looks good and the contrast with the exterior goes well. Realistic looking paint detailing on the engine.
  5. Foil work looks nice and cleanly done.
  6. Great looking color.
  7. In addition to the thorough cleaning suggested by Noel you might want to use an automotive type of primer as a base on resin body parts. Most of the paints designed for plastic models have a hard time bonding with the resin surfaces. The automotive type primers seem to bond well with resin surfaces and give the paints that are usually used something to bond to. Another thing to keep in mind is when scribing around trim after final painting it is not uncommon for the paint to "crack" along the edge.
  8. Great job of changing direction of your build.
  9. Like the pearl white color and the interior. Clean looking chrome trim.
  10. Looks like the old barn had a leaky roof from the extensive rust. Great work. Harder to duplicate mother nature than to build a shiny model.
  11. Does Tamiya TS-21 Gold look like something you would want? Tamiya also has one TS Lt. Sand Metallic that would be between this and the Champagne you mentioned.
  12. One thing I like about using this method is the clean way that the tape removes the excess foil without leaving any adhesive from the foil on the paint. Even if you do lay down one long length of foil, you can go back and make a light cut at any door or trim breaks before removing the tape.
  13. I have noticed some decal and dry transfer type materials at Hobby Lobby in the model section. They seem to be part of the wooden car materials.
  14. I think it looks great. Like your color and the finish looks nice and smooth. Clean chrome trim and body details and even got the wheel opening moldings.
  15. Both look great. Remember doing the Rex White car when that kit first came out.

    AMT 1957 Chevy.

Great looking paint. Like the supercharged 409 option on this kit and especially the way you detailed it.
  17. Great looking color and finish. Got the right stance. Good engine and interior detailing.

Always fun to build a model of past cars and trucks and evokes a lot of memories. Like the oxidized red finish and staying true to the car, the missing back-up light.
  19. Great looking two-tone color combination. Clean looking OEM trim. Fords always look good with the Tear Drop Hood. The painted details on the chassis look almost like the chassis of the more current kit designs.
  20. While I like the shade of gold, you might consider this a good base coat for a candy color if that is of interest to you.
  21. Great looking paint work and clean trim.
  22. A thought on the rear bumper. Consider cutting the Nerf Bar portion of the custom bumper off and graft the license plate surround into the stock rear bumper. Have used these license plate surrounds in the past and they look good with the slim stock bumpers and even some later model cars as well.
  23. Great looking build, like seeing body styles that we don't see here.
  24. Beautiful looking paint finish and color. Like the stance and the engine looks great.
