Like the red with the black stinger. The red line tires look right for the time period. The trim looks cleanly done, too bad about the hood issue.

Interesting paint layering. I like how you show the different effects. I'll have to keep that in mind. The interior looks very nice.

Older Nascar Cars

Well I never realized who was responsible for the brown bag lunch, but they were good. Someone would just pull into the station in the pits in one of those lawn mower powered flatbeds and we just thought it was the raceway buy lunch. You mention the "stock" Z28's and in fact they were going at it door to door but as I recall it was some type of club event or armature at least. I was there when the pro drivers were doing the Trans Am races as well as any NASCAR events. I briefly got involved in the Winston West Hobby Stocks at the Orange Show in San Bernardino and the Permatex at Riverside. Nothing to the extent you enjoyed. I was limited by both funds and a young family so that was my main priorities at the time. I'm sure we may have passed in the pits since it sounds like you were there when ever I would have been. As for the pictures of the "Stock Cars" that started this conversation, The Ford Talladega especially looks strange to me. I had a friend that had one of the Dan Gurney edition street car and the front looked nothing like the picture here. I know that there was liberties taken between the street car and what was on the starting grid, but the car in this picture would never be allowed to compete with that nose. Nice talking to you and know there are many that were or are involved in different types of racing and seeing some of the things offered as a replica race car now aren't even close. -
Great looking interior. I saw the picture of your finger. Hurt just to look at it. Get well.

The intricate details of the patterns and colors look amazing.

Glad to see this one getting some attention again. -

Been following your build and the attention to the fine details to replicate the 1:1 is amazing. -
Sorry to hear that. This was looking so good, and I like the dirt track rear tires.
-
Look forward to seeing this one built.

I think the white piping on the carpets give it more depth. A solid dark color, while more correct, would lose the carpeting detail.

I like the shade of blue and the foil looks nice and clean.

I try to build them the way I would want to have a 1:1. Tried a two tone color combo that was seen on '59 Chevrolets. The primary color was usually the copper with the roof and top of the fines done in white or beige. I just thought it looked better this way.

Look forward to seeing your build. Thank you all for your interest and remarks. I hope to have this finished for this weekends show. I'm getting the chassis in and finishing the differential install.

Great looking build. I'm not familiar the subject, but sure like the way this looks. The wheels, tires, and disc brake details look really nice.

Great looking paint color and finish. I like the wide whites. Sorry to hear of your problems with this build. I built one when they first came out and used almost the same color on that.

Great looking color and I like the detailing on the engine.

Great job capturing the look of the 1:1 Chevelle in the picture.

Great looking little Chevy II. I like the way you used different colored paints to detail the engine and under hood. I remember seeing a few of these in this color back than and always thought it looked good.
-
Beautiful looking build. Amazing how even a kit that offers a little bit of a challenge can turn out with a good cleanly detailed assembly.

Great looking conversion. -
Nice looking paint work. The seats look almost like a cloth finish. The distributor cap is very realistic looking.
