  1. Clean looking so far. I like the door shield.
  2. Anyone else ever notice the front end of a 1960 Edsel and think of a 1959 Pontiac?
  3. You might want to keep an eye open for any moving or large garage sales. Sometimes people are moving and don't have room or want to have an older cabinet in their new residents. These can often be bought for pennies on the dollar.
  4. Also used your present method for ever. I have started using Tamiya Panel Line Accent. Sometimes takes a light second coat but far better appearance in my mind.
  5. Several of the reissued JoHan models that had the 440 engines had some nice headers. Also, Revell has put out a few models that had something otheer than a Hemi engine that should also work. Try posting your header needs on the forum and see what some other builder might have to offer.

    '62 Impala SS

This is an AMT '62 Impala SS kit that I built OOB style. I have been away from the work bench for just over a year, so this is my way of working out some of the cobwebs. The body is painted with Model Master Phoenicia Yellow and Ultra Clear. For the interior I used Model Master Lt. Ivory and Tamiya Dark Earth trim and Tamiya Flat Clear. The floors are done in Ken's Fuzzi-Fur. The chassis has Tamiya Matt Black and Semi-Gloss for some of the suspension components.
  7. While this Dodge concept looks interesting, I find your design far better looking and as I mentioned it would cost far less for them to produce. They could use an existing chassis, this can save a big expense, and it would share much of its body parts with existing vehicles.
  8. Maybe someone will have pictures to share?
  9. Great looking 4X4 conversion. The pint color and finish look good, and the custom touches add to the looks as well.
  10. Great looking wagon. I always heard such horror stories about Hubley kits, but this is one I would like to see reissued.
  11. Smooth looking little Hot Rod. Great looking paint finish and color. I like the stance and the wheel, tire combination. Your other Hot Rods look great as well.
  12. I like how you built this to the era that you did. What did you use for your tank ?
  13. They both turned out great. The '56 is a test of anyone's patients to build. I like the Ford full wheel covers.
  14. Great looking paint and finish. This would never get lost in a parking lot.
  15. I like the theme, and the build looks great.
  16. Sorry to hear about your brother. My remark was meant to be tung in cheek. Instead I seem to stepped on myself.
  17. Great looking color combination and finish. Almost to pretty to take too far off road. Looking under the hood is when I remembered Ford was using some specially treated metal for inner finders on their trucks at that time.
  18. Great looking build of a model not often seen. I like the way the paint catches the light showing the body curves.
  19. Beautiful looking Olds and the chrome trim looks amazing. Hard to think this has been crushed at one time looking at the body now. So do your brother and you still talk?
  20. Beautiful looking finishes and trim details. The pictures look more like a 1:1 car than a model.
  21. The 10mm problem is widespread even among do it yourselfers. I have lost more than a few open-end wrenches as well as sockets in the frame rails and other hard to reach places. I was just thinking of all of the products that I have looked at that are made offshore, and they have a bit of a language barrier. Words that we use often do not have a corresponding word in another language.
  22. A paint to consider for darkening the taillights is from Tamiya. They offer what they are calling Smoke in X-19 form for brush painting and they also offer it in spray cans. I have also used their black Panel Line Accent although it may be harder to control over a large area. My suggestion would be to use the clear red on the back side of the lense and the smoke on the outside. Another idea to get a nice shiny finish is a final coat of Future Floor polish that will also help to seal the painted surfaces.
  23. I would like to see your build on this. Judging from the above picture that looks like a 1:1 pair, this should look great.
  24. Beautiful looking conversion. The paint and the smooth body lines all look like they could be an OEM type truck. In my opinion looking at this from a production standpoint you have to wonder why Dodge didn't do something just like this.
  25. One thing to remember on the issue of catalytic converters is that GM didn't install them until the 1975 model year vehicles. Depending on the level of accuracy you are striving for anything before that could or would have a full dual exhaust depending on engine,
