I think one of the great things about this forum and the different sections is the ability to see what other builders are doing. The WIP section is a good way to learn how different builders' approach some assembly issues and fabrication. Seeing finished builds and knowing how they accomplished different aspects of the model gives you a better appreciation of their efforts. As for the build subject, that will always be the observer's viewpoint, but that shouldn't change one's appreciation for what the builder has done. Colors and wheels and tires are one area that in my mind is an area that really is the builders' ideas. Everyone has at one point, or another looked at a build and thought "O I would have done this differently". This doesn't mean the builder is wrong and you're right, just means your personal tastes would have been different. You still have to look at someone else's build and appreciate it for what it is and how they finished it.

This is the body style I'm talking about. Round 2 brings this kit to market I'll need to buy a few of these.

1976 Chevy Van - The Tickler

Great looking exterior with just the right amount of grunge to it. The interior is a real time piece with the seats and all the little additions. Haven't seen the expression on the back doors since the late '70's. -

I like the build style and all the finishes look great. While not the usual treatment you might expect for this subject, I think that is why it is more eye catching just as it would be in 1:1. -
Beautiful looking Impala. The color looks true to the original. Building models of cars and trucks from the past always brings back such great memories.

They both look great. I always wondered how this kit would look with an earlier style build.

Beautiful looking paint and trim. Looks showroom fresh. Having owned one years ago it is special to see one done with stock looking finishes like this.

Got to be a big disappointment after all the effort you put into this and then get to the foil and have it all turn bad.

Another amazing focus by Doug Whyte

I remember now when this was in that magazine. With this background information of how it came about and the builder, I think I better appreciate what all it must have been to create this model. -
Your gas milage issues is why no one would buy it, not to mention the damage too fuel line components especially on older cars and trucks. Some of the local stations around here sell non E-85 gas and the regular grade costs as much as the E-85 premium gas. My own experience has been that I will get a couple more miles per gallon plus a noticeable increase in performance than with the E-85. The price can also vary depending on the way that your state or even county tax the fuel.

Beautiful looking paint finish and color. I like the way the engine is detailed, very realistic looking.

I like the step-side bed style. -
You guys may hate me for this. I filled up at Costco in Lenexa Ks at $3.45 per gallon yesterday. While gas seems too always be lower in the KC Metro area than the rest of the country, and some of that is based on the taxes I'm sure, the price has dropped over a dime a gallon in a week. There may be hope that gas prices will stabilize again at some semblance of reason soon.

The only stepside I can recall is the Chevrolet LWB and in a half ton I don't recall ever seeing but one of those on the street. If this is what they're going to offer I better start laying aside a little extra cash now.

I think if anyone wanting to build a model of a '58 Impala and can't find the Revell issue should consider this AMT kit. The body proportions are very correct looking. The AMT kit offers several build options and opening doors. While this is an older tooling at the time that AMT brought this out it was one of the best designed kits at the time.

Great looking paint finish and I'm partial to orange anyway. Looks much cleaner without all the black outs and stripes. -
Great looking and looks very much the part of the movie car. Realistic finishes. The blue cans in the back, are they for water since they're blue or gas ?
-
Great looking build. I didn't know such a kit existed.

Great looking color. I'll bet that really looks good in the sun light. Very clean looking conversion to the Pro Street style. I like how the carbs just poke out of the hood.

To all of the fellow CPASP users. For a good laugh watch the Inspire Sleep ads on TV. The one where the guy wakes up sleeping with the St Bernard dog is great.

Dido on left lane sitters. This is a problem in this area as well. In my limited travels I have visited a few states where they do enforce that section of the Vehicle Code Book. Try that in Tn. and you well be contributing to the states operating capital.

I wish they would change it to a short wheel base. I'll still buy on if they do reissue, just getting old and lazy is all.

1979 GMC Caballero Diablo

Great looking paint and I like the stance. Good wheels and they would have been a direct bolt on if you used the fronts from an IROC as the rears had a different off set. Your right about the trim package on the GMC. Always wondered why GMC dealers didn't sell more of these.
