I use the Tamiya putty, but there are a lot of options.

My guess is that the friction models would be the hardest to find. Think about all the youngsters that would get that friction motor going and run the car into the wall baseboard. The mortality rate had to be high on those.

I would keep it white since that will better show your models. A suggestion one color. I have a couple of book shelf type cabinets that I have used for years. The walls in my model room were a light beige color and I panted the inside and the shelf tops to match. I thought it looked good. Like you we just moved and I have to set them up when the new space gets done. The colors in homes now are different shades of "Battleship Gray" so I guess that's what I'll be doing next.

Trash pickup. We have our trash pickup done by a local big trash company that has a contract with our city as well as many others in the area. Trash day is early Wednesday morning and the paper/card board pickup is in the after noon. No big deal, sort of like the sun coming up in the morning and setting in the evening, except this last Wednesday. The trash truck usually rolls thru the neighborhood between 7:30 and 8 AM. I had both roll arounds out there by then. I checked on the trash dumpster a few times and thought it odd that at 1 PM they still hadn't picked it up. The recycle bin was picked up by 3 PM which is late for that but still no trash pickup. Thursday I call the city number for the trash and the lady was a little testy but I figure I'm not the only one not getting their trash pickup. Friday the city is saying that today they will pickup the trash. Today I added another bag of trash to the bin at the end of the driveway. I'm betting that we will not see the trash truck until Wednesday. In the mean time the neighborhood has full to overflowing trash bins at the end of our driveways. Starting to look a little tacky not to mention the air quality in our 95 degree plus weather.

So many neat features here and all done so well. I like how you changed the wheel base and still kept the proportions. Paint looks great.

Great looking Impala. You got the body really smooth, the dark color is like black it will not hide any sins. I liked how you reworked the seats and all the interior trim looks very OEM. Nice day two engine.

Cool looking Panel truck. Based on the wraparound windshield my guess is it's a '56 year model. I like the early style dish slot mags.

The colors I was suggesting can be had from Tamiya and in rattle cans. My painting is about 50/50 rattle cans and air brush.

Thank you. I wish there were more boat kits but realize the cost of developing a kit and turning a profit would be a chancy deal at best. I have a couple more in my stash and hope to build another soon. Again thank you for the kind words this means a lot coming from a fellow builder.

I like them both but enjoy doing them by hand like your '60 Chevy Apache pick up. Both your trucks look great.

I have one of these in line for the work bench soon so I'll watch how you go about this build.

There may be a dealership somewhere that caters to that market. I remember years ago in the 'burbs of Chicago a dealer that had a bunch of late '40's and early '50's Cadillac Hearses and Flower Cars as well. This was in the late '50's. These were trade ins on the new one they had sold.

I'm a huge fan of these kits and was surprised to see this old kit review pop up. I reread this and see where many are questioning the moldings on the glass. My opinion is that this represents the metal interior moldings that were used around the window openings and help secure the interior panels and the head liner. I agree that while these are a little pricy they are actually not for the level of detail and the parts finish. My only wish now is that I bought more of them back when I thought they cost to much. I did the Aero Sedan a couple of years ago and have the Delivery and a Coupe to build yet.

Great looking build and very cleanly detailed. These just look correct in any of MoPars colors.

That's the Dodge Lancer version of the Plymouth Valiant. I'm a closet fan of these cars and I like the Lancer the best of the two. They didn't have the "toilet seat" on the trunk like the Valiant had.

As with any paint from any supplier that you're not a 100 % sure off I would use the tried and true picnic spoon test. This is especially true with any paint that wasn't originally formulated for the subjects we're building. Better safe than sorry.

This was one of those that never leaves the memory of a car crazy youth such as my self. Glad to see I'm not alone with this affliction.

There have been issues of this kit in the past where they included a green tinted or clear roof panel. Neither are true to the original. Looking at pictures of the 1:1 glass roof cars they seem to be sort of a greenish blue color. I would consider using some of the tinted clear paints that are normally used over a silver or gold base for a candy effect.
