Beautiful looking combination. Amazing results just using what was in the box and using the OEM paint colors. I'll be getting one or two just for the trailer alone. One of the reasons I like the Galaxies shade of blue is that it reminds me of a couple of 1:1s that I remember from new. Two guys that worked together building home went together and ordered two identical '64 Galaxies in this color with an all white interiors. They were both 390 4 speed cars and to see the two of them at the same time together was a sight. Your attention to the trim details on each car as well as the trailer really look great.

WIP: AMT 1951 Chevy Convertible from Sun Cruiser box

The body and paint look very smooth. How and what did you use to paint the chrome trim ?? -
This has really come together nicely. The stans looks good and all the body work looks smooth. The only real chrome remaining looks to be around the windows. In addition to RRR's comments on foiling sometimes doing shorter pieces of foil following the shape of the 1:1's chrome trim can make it easier. Don't over due the coffee either.

The Charger and Road Runners all look great. Something about the wagon with the wide rear tires. Is it a sleeper, or a poser ??

I like the more weathered looking chassis. These guys were on and off road a little so the style now is a little more realistic to the TV car. -
As you pointed out there is some serious mold lines to be removed on the front fenders, wings. A thought on the wheels and tires. Not knowing what you have on the hobby shop shelves in your area but some die cast assembled models can be purchased that have a set of wheels and tires that could be used. Should you want to build it as a low rider from the mid to late fifties maybe just lower the suspension and some sort of full wheel covers.

Great looking showroom stock looking truck. I like the paint and interior. -
Beautiful looking finish. These were very well done curb side models with well proportioned bodies and trim. Detailed the way you have done here they look as good as anything today, just a little less chassis and engine details is all.

Great looking Hot Rod. Nice paint finish and I like the steel wheels. The engine looks like a Chevy big block.
-
Nice OEM look.

Beautiful looking finishes. I like the pure stock look and all the attention to the color details.

Never knew of this kit. Being an AMT I wonder if round 2 has the molds. I remember a time in the '60's when a guy I worked with bought a Tow'd that was built by some company in SoCal.

Glad to see your back at this build. I hope everything else is well for you also.

I wanna grow up and be a weatherperson.......
espo replied to HomerS's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
I don't think there really is any "Weather Person" anymore. They used to actually look at all the data from the weather burau and make a projection that was pretty much dead on. Now they look at three or four different computer readouts from different sources and you have to wonder if they are even for the same state. They just throw a dart at the dart board and hope for the best. When the weather wonk on TV says there isn't a chance of rain for three or more days I know to go turn off the sprinklers and make sure the gutters are clear of leaves because we're in for it. -
What's the number ? I haven't heard any really good Surf Guitars in a long time. Makes you want to bleach your hair and grab your baggies.

Very realistic looking finishes thru out. Very cleanly detailed engine and chassis. -
Great looking Nova and I like how you detailed the engine.
-
The both still look fresh with great looking paint and cleanly detailed. This wasn't the easiest kit to build to this standard either.
-
Beautiful looking paint and finish. With the stance and the wheels this is what a '57 should look like.
-
Great looking weathering and I also would like to see more of this.
-
I look forward to seeing your rebuild of the '56. While a curtain part of me wanted you to leave it as a barn find but it is yours after all and I'm sure you'll do it justice. The '55 Bel Airs roof almost looks like it's been chopped near the rear window. This would make a great bases for a Kustom.

Great looking Firebird. Always special to build a model of cars and trucks you have owned in the past and all the memories that come back to you during the build. I always thought the OHC 6 would make an interesting engine to add power to. At one time they offered several different horse power levels including a Qudra Jet 4 barrel and a much hotter cam along with a 4 speed. Yours had a nice color combination and I like the way you detailed the engine and chassis.
