Spread another 2 cubic yards of mulch today and still just short of finished. I'll need another trailer load I think. My wife just got home from her office, she works from home now, We'll be sharing some deck time tonight and a little Vino Rojo.
This looks great, you could bet Roth would have done something like this. The '57 hood really gets your attention. Very nice smooth finish and I like the creativity.
The Boat Tail Riviera always had a presents on the road even when stock. From the reflection of your car in the Buick's rear fender you can see how nice the paint is.
My Grandmother thought I was artistic when I was young and got me some of those "Color by numbers" oil paint kits. The biggest problem was trying to figure out what the painting was supposed to be when finished. No it wasn't my fault as anyone who was forced to do these will tell you. If you didn't need glasses before you would afterwards.
That's why you have a mute button on the remote. There're a few that are somewhat interesting at first, but anything over and over and over is why we have the button.
Looks great especially considering the basic kit. I never did finish mine years ago. I was going to see how well it would bounce off the wall, but used it for parts instead. I like how you did the body decals. How did the engine turnout ?
I like the color combination and the theme on this. Those surf decals really look good. I used them on a similar theme'd build once. Great looking finish and the surf board is good looking also.
Great find. are these the ones you're thinking about trading ? I would be interested in the green '60 Ford F100 and the maroon '60 Buick hardtop if your open to any trades. Did your friend get the Valiant ? If he wants to trade that I would be interested in that one also.
Thank you for the additional suggestions. I'm looking at another '48 Ford coupe in the near future and that is why I had asked. I have a couple of those suggestions in the stock pile of kits I will never get too.
I have had good luck using the Molotaw Chrome Pins for small areas and touch up on other chrome trim. I use Chrome Foil for a majority of chrome trim on my models. One thing I have found useful if you aren't already doing this, is to out line any trim with a #11 blade before applying any color coats. The reason is that the paint buildup will make the departing line between the trim and the body harder to find when applying the foil. I started using this method back when you had to use chrome paint for trim before the foil was around. This may help with the Molotaw Pin also as the chrome fluid flows on the trim it will stop at the blades mark as it acts like a dam to stop the flow.
Thank you for the photo of the chassis. I was wondering if I could use the chassis under a different body. This looks like a modern chassis like I want to use on something else in the future.
Great looking collection. They all look to be built stock or close to it and that makes them even more desirable. Many have been reissued and if it were me I would avoid those unless they just speak to you as there are many others that have not been and those are the builds I would want. Two that standout to me are the white Valiant and the red '60 Edsel sitting on the table top without a box. I don't know if it would be appropriate or not to ask, but if you get either one or both of those I would be open to a trade with you for something you might prefer to have. To my thinking any one of these would be desirable if only to clean up a little and just display them.
