Interesting that you mention the 5-speed 260. I was working at a Chevrolet dealership at the time but knew nothing of the option from Oldsmobile. A couple we were frinds with liked our new Mont Carlo SS and not being able to afford one at the time waited a year and bought a Cutlass with the 260 and that is the only way I even knew of the 260's existence. They were disappointed in the performance or lack there off. Now just a couple of weeks ago I came across an E-Bay ad for just such a car, 260 V-8 with the 5-speed. This reminded me of once being told that it was more fun driving a car with very little power at it's maximum capabilities than driving say a Hellcat and trying to stay out of trouble with it.

Actually my wife and I were laughing most of the evening about the whole thing.

Nailed it. Great looking color and paint finish. Interior looks good. The chassis work is the biggest part of this build, maybe display it over mirrors. This body style looks so much better when you see what you and many other builders have done with it.

I have been selling some used lawn equipment since I purchased a new riding mower. I listed the old rider on Cragslist as well as some equipment for dethatching and aerating the lawn. Go thru the usual people wanting the best price without knowing anything about what they're looking at in the pictures. Finally a guy calls that is a genuine buyer and we arrange for me to deliver to his new home since I have a trailer that I tow with our Jeep. He has asked all the correct questions for someone who has never owned or operated a rider before, they really are not hard. I'm trying to go over the controls and offer some operational tips but he's just wanting to hand us the money and have us leave. My wife even had to tell me it was time to go since he wasn't interested in hearing anything. The next day late in the afternoon he texts me wanting to know if something is wrong with the mower. He had driven it around the yard several times and adjusted the deck height as I had shown him and he said it wasn't working. I text him back and ask him if he had engaged the blades as I had shown him, but it seems this was about the time he had lost interest in any additional operation information I was trying to give him. In my text I described the push/pull button on the dash. He sends me a picture of the rider and asks if it is the button with the circle containing the picture of a mower blade on it. Bingo, I can't understand why people don't want information about something they know little or nothing about from someone offering the obviously much needed info.

That may have a bigger impact than calling out Fox, especially when it comes to contract negotiations.

Very clean looking build. The paint finish is super smooth looking. The wheel color compliments the body color perfectly.

Beautiful looking Mercury. Not a 1:1 model often seen and even less so in scale. I had a friend who had an XR7 Cougar with the 390 and auto. trans. They were great riding cars.

I would let Fox know of your displeasure with their coverage of Drag Racing. I often think that the people who control these things have little or no understanding of Motor Sports in general and really couldn't care less.

Great conversion.

I followed your build on this. Great build and concept. -
Great, thank you. I enjoy seeing what everyone else is doing from different shows.

Great job with realistic looking ageing. I love the door gaps on the driver's door. Or maybe that's an engine heat extractor ? Great job on the front bumper also. -
I like the Viper injection idea. Nice crusty looking body and paint. I personally have owned a couple of this ones Charger cousins and have had great service. Traded our '10 Charger RT with AWD at 97k miles for a '14 Charger GT with AWD. Great cars and they laugh at snowy roads.

Looks great to me, I don't understand why your "not thrilled" with how it turned out. To bad you don't have any pictures of the interior with all the work you did there. You called it "gutless" so I'm guessing you had the world beater 260 cu in V-8.

Looks sharp enough to be a resent build. Very cleanly done.

Great clean looking build. I like the showroom appearance.

I wonder if Norm ever found any stray combs behind the seat.

Hopefully someone will have pictures to share.

Tamiya offers two different clears that you might look at. TS-80 is a Flat Clear and TS-79 is a Semi Gloss Clear. I has used both on interiors and chassis and engines and have always liked how they worked.

Painting resin what prep should I use?

In addition to gman's information you might want to use an automotive type etching primer before going to your finish paint color. -
You might also look at any craft shop that has a jewelry section. I have found some chain that worked perfect for the bed chains on a pick up bed latch. While not the same thing they may have a different style you could use.

Beautiful looking build. Very clean foil work, and now you will have to buy another sheet. I also like that you got the tutone correct on the window area as most seem to get it wrong.

I agree with you that there has been a vast improvement in the castings offered in the last two decades. Recently I personally have passed on the purchase of a few based on how much work I felt would be involved. But I also have bought a few that were very well done. This last weekend at the Heartland Show I picked up a '67 Chevelle two door post that to my eye rivaled anything Revell is offering. This particular casting will not require any more work than what you would devote to a normal plastic kit body. My compliments to who ever the caster might have been since there was no name on the box. But I also looked at some other bodies that were interesting subjects while at the swap meet and they really would of required more work than I could have justified for my self. I did a '56 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery a couple of years ago, and it was from one of the known casters you mention, And it still required a lot of clean up and I really had to rework the inside for the Revell Nomad chassis and interior to fit. While I agree there has been much improvement overall there generally is still going to be work to be done on the builders part and you just have to accept how much you're willing to do and then spend your money accordingly.
