Looks great. Nice job converting to a hardtop. Very smooth paint finish.

They both look great. I like the shade of blue you used on the 440 car.

Great looking build. I like the "Mother's Cheery Pie" livery. Where did you get the unusual looking 4 spoke wheels for this ?

I just saw this on "On the work bench" and now your finished already. Came together fast. I like your color finish and the body mods, but the engine is the most interesting part to me. Very well laid out and all the finishes look right.

What did you see on the road today?

The old flat head six with three speed and overdrive would give you mid 20 mpg all day long with your foot in it all the time. -
I have used TS-11 on a coupe of builds. I just used the spray can and got good coverage with a couple of light coats. Like you I really like the color and it just looks right on the early Fords, or just about anything up thru the early '60's.

I have to agree. I always thought the Studebakers in general were good cars. My experience was long ago and they were all very high mileage cars as that was about I and several of my friends could afford. These cars were built like an anvil and nothing we could do would kill them. As for Studebaker the company, they were underfunded and using a generic pickup beds was this least expensive way to bring the pick-up to market. -
Interesting idea to cover the rear side windows. Looking at your picture of the body it looks as if you're going to change the shape of the "B" pillar. If that's your intent you might want to consider how that would effect the back edge of the door line. The door glass would have to descend into the door jam based on the line you have drawn.

This is a very nice kit and I like your pick of color combination, I'll be following your build.

Interesting looking pick-up. The cab area looks like a normal Studebaker Lark and the bed looks a lot like a Ford bed. -
AMT 67 Chevelle PS wheels
espo replied to Oldschool4x4's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I think those 4 spoke wheels are meant to replicate a light weight wheel used mainly for Drag Racing. I wonder if this offering could be built as a stock 396 SS. I remember when this was first issued at the same time Revell started offering their '67 SS 396. There was several write ups comparing the two. -
I think the GT version was the better looking kit since the notch back just didn't look proportional to myself. The notch back earlier kit had some nice engine upgrades and I liked the snorkel that went from the engine cover to just above the roof line. I remember when the 1:1 hit the market. A friend and former co-worker had gone to work for the Pontiac dealer and he drove one the first ones the dealership got down to show me. I'm 6'3" so it felt like I was wearing it rather than sitting in it. The console was high enough inside that my right arm and elbow was at an angle were I almost couldn't shift gears. No leg room in my case. I did like the concept but the car was made for someone shorter than myself.

This cleaned and polished up great. The 305 HO engine, the 4 speed auto/overdrive transmission and 373 gears made a pretty good car for that era.

Great looking frame connectors and X brace. Depending on how dark of a floor color you're going with the seem between the floor and the drive shaft tunnel might not be that noticeable. AS you pointed out, having the interior part movable would make it a lot easier to assemble.

This is a very large and diverse collection. The display cabinets alone must be worth a lot. As mentioned by others here, the large quantity would be hard for most and beyond their means. To sell it all as a single lot the only logical buyer wound be someone that would be able to split it up and sell parts to different people. I think Steven Guthmiller 's idea of contacting his friends with a shared interest would be in her best interest.

Is "Brite Touch" primer any good?
espo replied to JollySipper's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Take your basic 40 % off coupon from Hobby Lobby and buy Tamiya primer there. What it may lack in volume it makes up for it in finish properties. -
I don't think I would call them friends if they're throwing nasty things on your floor. Maybe I'm just to sensitive.

I don't know if this is the right place for this since it has to do with what the driver of a car was doing. Yesterday in my travels I was interring a round about and had to stop to give this guy the right of way. As he drove in front of me I could see that he had one of those Halloween skeletons in the passenger seat with the seat belt holding it in place. He know everyone was looking, you could tell by the big smile on his face. -
Very nice looking pick-up. Dodge has after market kits in their parts department that would make that a ram air hood. They also offer a nice low back pressure exhaust system.

That bathroom turned out really nice. That faucet looks perfect with that sink.

That is a real sleeper. The Comet portion is very clean looking and a great looking paint job. The addition of the T-Bolt parts really set this apart on so many ways. In real life this would have been a terror on the drag strip or the street.

I look forward to getting one of these myself. I owned a '66 Impala SS 396 with 4 speed back in the day so I have a personal attachment to this kit. The forward section of the floor boards are the only real issue I could find on the ones I have built. My personal car had the optional gauge package that put a Tach where the Clock would have been and added four gauges between the console and the bottom of the dash. This had the Oil pressure, Water temp., Charging, and Clock. I have fabricated these on my builds.

I have been enjoying watching this build and learning all of the differences between the Parisienne and Pontiac cars. Something I noticed looking at the brochure that Vietnam Vet67 posted, there is no listing for a Disc Brake option. I know this was an option on the Pontiacs starting in '67.

Amazing fabrication and attention to detail. After a while looking at these pictures it really does look almost like a 1:1 build.

I share your pain. We are listing our home with the thought of down sizing as my wife hopes to retire in the next couple of years. I often have seen interesting houses that are being relisted with a disclaimer that the deal fell through because of "an over zealous inspector". This always makes you wonder just how much is the inspector and how much is the home. Looking at homes in the area that are under 20 years old sometimes you have to wonder if they were Frat Houses at some point. I just can't see how someone wouldn't take better care of what is often their biggest asset. Anyway good luck to you on selling your home.
