The Willys Gasser will be nice to have again. Not as good as the Revell offerings but there're many of years apart when it comes to the time they were developed. The Lift looks interesting to me. I have to wonder just how many COPO Chevelle's were ordered with a vinyl roof ?

A lot of work went into this build. Turned out beautifully.

I like how you did the paint treatment. All of the other body and trim modifications work well together.

The hood looks perfect. I like the "post" body style.

The colors and the stripes look great. My personal all time favorite is the Go Mango orange.

That looks great. If someone is looking for an unusual color just visit the Nail Polish isle.

Is this part of your initial cleaning of a new model, or was there perhaps a painting problem??

A little known fact about the Aztek , or maybe everyone knows by now. I worked in a Pontiac dealership when this monstrosity was unleashed on the general public. I had asked the Zone Rep. from Pontiac "what were they thinking". His story line was that it was a committee design. Pontiac Division had work shops with non GM employees asking what they were looking for in a new car. AS it turned out a majority of the people in the work shops were very early twenties since that was their target buyers. The problem is by the time they put it all together and brought it to market it cost to much for the target buyers and it was during the plastic cladding era at GM and so it looked the way it looked because no one had a clear vision of what it should be. I was quoted as saying "that if he had a dog that looked like that he would shave his bottom and teach him to walk backwards". The Zone Drone was not impressed.

Find a hobby shop that carries Plastruct products. They offer many different pattern sheets of plastic.

My Grandparents had the same coffee maker. I'd check around old Antique and Consignment places.

A friend of mine bought a new '63 Corvette. I got to drive it for a very short time one evening. That big obstruction in the middle of the rear window was bad. I'm 6'2'', I may have been 6'3' back then. You really don't have a real good field of vision out of the rear window on the C3 fastback anyway and while I like the looks of the split window I can see why owners of the '63's were chopping the post out of these cars.

It would make sense that as a true race car the whole front end would lift off. As a road car would you want to change that? With the paint job you have on this, it looks amazing, I'd just let it go and remember you have to lift off the entire front body work to check the oil and water.

It sounds as if we both like a good cup of Coffee in the morning. I order all of mine from Peet's in San Francisco with whole beans and grind my own as needed. I have tried the percolator method before and experienced some of the same problems. Mine had two different metal baskets neither of which worked for me. I have gone back to the old drip method and it just seems to work the best for me anyway.

I don't know if you watch the 10 O'clock News, but this wing nut, from of all places KCMO, got a snout full of meth and decided he should load up all his gun powder and a few fire arms and go have dinner with our President. Virginia's finest clocked him at over 130 MPH. According to the news he had several guns and a lot of ammo and plans to also visit the Pentagon while he was in town. Thank thanks to the Virginia authorities who stopped him, but it just goes to show there're is a lot people out there who are just ready to go off at any moment.

You aren't by chance using a Mr. Coffee maker ?? I have had the same problem with one several times and found it had to do with the top of the coffee pot. The top is supposed to allow the freshly brewed coffee to pass thru it and into the pot. This doesn't always happen as the top ages. Just leave the top off the pot while brewing and problem solved.

I like the way you detailed the interior and under the hood. Very clean looking build.

Great looking group of Corvettes.

Beautiful paint work. I like your idea of making it a road car. One thing I noticed is the Hood opening lines. In the area of the front wheel arches the line disappears. I don't know enough about this body to know how the Hood lines would run, but this stood out as soon as I looked at it.

'70 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 (Revell snap-kit, 1/25 scale)

Looking back over the pictures I can now see that the wheels are a 6 spoke design. I also agree with Snake45 on the grill treatment. So many miss that feature and I like that you did it correctly. I personally like the lower ride height. -
I like the way you did the paint fades on the side of the body.

Some states have a "three strikes your out" rule. This would give the repeat offender a substantial time behind bars. Not a bad idea in my opinion.

With just the two small holes in the hood you could use some scraps of spruce from the kit and fill the holes with that. With a very little body filler and a little sanding it should work perfectly.

These are nice kits. The decals and the carpet look as if they have seen high humidity conditions. The bottom half of the box would feel a little softer than the average card board if that is so.
