Glad to see that you are still working on this. Great idea to cast it, I'll bet many will want this one.

I like the Flames you added, the green is a little intense and this gives it just enough contrast. After looking at what you have done so far and seeing what others have done with this model I'm looking at it in a new light as far as building one myself.

I'll bet that guy will not sell the hulk since he plans to restore it some day. Like that will ever happen.

Air brush the wood trim, ditch the skirts, get some wheels under it and a little more harmonizing interior colors and you would be there. Now that's just my opinion for what ever that's worth. But you have to agree with the concept and how it turned out, I think it looks great and so does the workmanship.

Excellent paint color and finish. The chassis looks very realistic. I noticed the rear suspension changes. You mentioned the unknown caster of the body, they got the proportions perfectly on the chopped top. I remember reading years ago an article about some of the difficulties of getting the proportions to look right when shopping the top on a 1:1 car. The reason I mention this is that the article stated that the '39 & '40 Fords were the most difficult to do. The problem had to do with the side windows and the rear side window was the hardest to get right.

Just miss getting the lawn mowed Friday since I had to run here and there. We have finally started to get some much needed rain. The general area has been listed as being in a drought all summer and the most extreme drought area has included where I live. I can't water the lawn enough to keep it from getting bad spots everywhere and many of my neighbors lawns are all but gone. WE have gotten more than 4 inches in the last 24 hours and it looks as if we will have at least two more days of the same. That is more rain than we have seen all summer. You bet I'm happy about that. After the rain stops it's aeration time and then over seeding.

Great looking conversion. I like the color choice also, with the interior color they make each other stand out.

Very nice clean looking rebuild. Very fitting color for your Road Runner. The interior is the most outstanding part for myself. I remember MoPar's with an interior option much like what you did here. To bad the insurance companies killed the performance cars, they were such fun to own and drive.

I think what your father was trying to accomplish was to have a balanced handling car by having the same tire all the way around with more rubber on the road. In reality this is the wiser thing to do. But most of use running the larger rear tire was to give the impression that we had something to back up the look and we were able to get a slight rake without spending any money on suspension parts. The fact that it would create understeer was never even a consideration. We were so smart back then.

All I can say is WOW. Looking at the paint, interior and engine compartment all of the finishes look perfect and dull were it should be and shinny were it is supposed to be.

In your first post you mention wanting your build to be factory correct. As far as the tires go the F60 x 15 would be the OEM tire and I think they could be either raised white letter or red line. Like you I also like the factory rally wheels and just about anything I have ever seen from Fireball Modelworks is going to be as accurate as can be found anywhere. You have also mentioned the desire to use the Indy profile tires. This would be a "day two" modification and also very common. These are nice tires for sure, but also look at the L60 x 15 size tires in the AMT package. This style was also very common in that era, IE same tire manufacture but a larger size. This could also get your model a slight "rake" depending on how you setup the suspension. By all means build it the way you like it.

I would "google image" for pictures of the different year models of the Monte Carlo. I owned a '72 Monte Carlo years ago and the only major thing I can recall, if you want to call it major, was the front parking lights. the '72 had the lights in the grill area and previous year models had the lights in the bumper. I'm sure there are many little trim differences. If a vinyl top is a consideration I know that there were a couple of different styles. One was called the "halo" roof based on the body colored metal between the drip rails and the vinyl roof. The other looks like a standard vinyl roof with chrome trim at the base of the C pillar and running from side window too side window passing under the rear window. I don't know of any Landau style factory vinyl roofs until the '73 models.

Very nice showroom stock build. The only models of this era Mercury I recall were done in different NASCR livery's.

Very deep rich looking paint color. Great paint finish and cleanly detailed. Others have mentioned the top. While I also don't feel that it enhances the overall look of the model, I think that the object of this roof in real life was two fold. The improved aerodynamics aside this may have enabled the real car to compete in a different closed body class. I think the model is well presented and would like to see more of the engine and chassis.

The thing I find most attractive about Allysa Rose, besides being pretty, is her persona on the TV show. She isn't full of herself and she seems very intelligent. .

IT STAYS AS IS. That's just my thought.

I enjoyed all of the shows I had seen. I think many of the car manufactures could have used some of their new car intros for TV commercials. That said you just know that they beat the living daylights out of everything they drove. Now ask yourself, would you buy a late model car knowing that it had been on Top Gear ? Ya I thought so.

And now you know why I'll never be found on Facebook. My life isn't that exciting anyway and it really isn't anyone's business what I'm doing.

I used to do a little mountain biking. No, I have done the Motorcycle thing also, this is bicycling. This would entail ridding thru the woods on very narrow dirt trails. We used to call the lead rider "spider man" for a reason. Think about peddling as hard as you can thru the woods and running thru a giant spider web across the trail. I always tried to be anything but first in line.

Just got back from a long weekend at the 5th annual Ozark Mountains Jeep Jamboree. Unbelievably beautiful countryside. Vehicle registration was capped at 65 vehicles. There were 150 registered participants from 12 different states. The park had 850 acres. We got to meet so many great people and the hosts at the Byrd's Adventure Center did an outstanding job providing trail guides and feeding everyone far more than we should have eaten. They also provided local entertainers every night around a giant camp fire. If you're into Wheel'n and own a Jeep it is an event that should not be missed.
