  1. Very nice clean looking build. If you ever go ahead with your 6 Cylinder build you might check some of Revell's truck kits as some offered the 6 cylinder engine you would need including the correct air cleaner. I have also thought of such a build but just haven't gotten around to it.
  2. Great "Surfer" graphics. The Waves around the wheel openings are nice. I also like the rear window louvers.
  3. Great looking build. I like the way you hinged the tail gate, that adds a great deal to the finished model.
  4. Half my life has been spent in different parts of both southern and northern California. The things I miss are the Santa Ana winds, extreme drought, and the burning season when the whole country side is ablaze. Then course an Earth Quake every now and then was always exciting. When we left the sentiment at 20 years ago was "The last tax payer out turn off the lights" . Nice to visit but just couldn't afford to live there anymore.
  5. So Thursday night my lovely bride of 33 years this May and I are enjoying a glass of Wine on the deck at the end of the day. The temperature was 68 degrees at 6 P.M. and we are discussing our weekend plans. Friday evening its at 32 degrees and falling, no deck time. Got to run all your errands today because its supposed to SNOW again Sunday. Don't you just love living in the Mid-West ?
  6. Many of the earlier issued kits had their merits but the much newer Revell offerings are the best in most every way.
  7. They all look great tome. I had one for a short time with the pick up bed. If you are driving any distance at all it is nice to have a place to put your suit case or anything else you might want to take with you.
  8. Many good suggestions on how to evaluate the paint condition. I have several paints that have been with me for 10 plus years and for what ever reason just never got used. I would suggest, as others have pointed out, just open and use a regular old tooth pick to break up the residue on the bottom. Keep mixing until the residue is mixed in with the clear and then reseal and shake the bottle for a while. Reopen and test as suggested. I have gotten several that I was able to save and many that I could not. I think it has to do if they had ever been opened and exposed to oxygen at some point as that would start their deterioration. If all else fails it would seem that you could sell them on EBay and make a fortune.
  9. I have to agree with your perception of how people should drive. I wanted to get back on the Forum this morning to apologize to you. I thought about what I had sent to you and was afraid you would take it as a personal attack on my part, and that was not my intent, but after thinking about it I realized that it could easily be taken as something personal when I was really expressing my frustration with how drivers seem to operate a vehicle in this area. From your reply it would seem that you understood that it was nothing to do with you as an individual, only drivers in general. As I think you can see this is something that bothers me a great deal. Thank you for understanding.
  10. The middle lane is not OK to dilly dally around at speed well under the speed limit, this is per the state issued rules of the road had books at your local DMV office. This behavior is what causes so many traffic jams when the number of vehicles on the road increases. Left lane sitters are the only ones that are worse. The right hand lane is for slower moving traffic and you are not supposed to speed up to cut off anyone trying to merge with traffic only to slow down after you beet the guy to the top of the on ramp. The left hand or fast lane is for overtaking or passing slower moving vehicles. The center lane should be maintaining a speed with the flow of traffic without obstructing that flow. This means that you don't speed up to block anyone passing you to prevent them from getting back into the center lane. The basic rule and the LAW is that slower vehicles keep to the right lanes. Kansa does not enforce their own laws of the road and this is what causes so many accidents on the highways. I have traveled in some other states that enforce these rules of the road and traffic moves much smother and outside of a rush hour situation have not had any problems.
  11. You might consider some rear fenders, but I wouldn't worry about not being noticed at the party. Where does the line begin for the Rocky Mountain Cool Aid ??
  12. All of your efforts on this really paid off. Very interesting to look at all of the well done details inside and out of the van. Very cool looking.
  13. Very clean looking Cuda. The addition of the trunk rack is not often seen and adds to the look of the build.

    65' Impala

Very good detailing especially when you realize it is done mostly with different shades of paint. The piping on the seats really standout. The paint looks as if you did a slight fade in the center of the hood and the roof. Very smooth finish. I like the stance and the wheel & tire combination.
  15. I never really thought about it until I saw this post. I can't remember the last time I saw a Honda with a "Fart Can" on it or even the loud music with the base that would disrupt your heart beat. The young'ns are still lowering there sad little cars until they bounce down the road on the suspension bump stops and the windows are all painted black along with the wheels. Some will add some contrasting bright color to bits of trim but otherwise not as offensive as they once were. There are far more lifted trucks "Burning Coal" and Bull Testicles dangling from the underside of the bed. Hopefully this to will pass.
  16. You might want to post your needs in the Wanted section on the Forum. I have seen many find some pretty obscure parts there.
  17. That just make you want to cry. That was a rare sight in 1956. Note the little scoops on the rear quarter panel. Could this car also have Air Conditioning also ?? That would be rare, but maybe not in Az.
  18. My '96 also had the two piece driveshaft and I also had the center carrier support. As I said my problem may not even be related to what you are experiencing, but if there is a vibration in say the rear drive shaft because of a change in it's angle, that will transmit to the front drive shaft. There is a curtain amount of for and aft play even though the shaft appears to be solidly mounted. Per the drive shaft shop I went too any vibration can set up harmonics that effect anything else in the driveline. This is one of the reasons balancing of the drive shaft its self is so important. Just like balancing the crankshaft in the engine or balancing your tires. Should your tire be off even an oz. you can feel it in your steering wheel, and look at how isolated your steering wheel is from your tire. Just a thought. Good luck to you on getting your truck done the way you want it. Maybe even post you progress here.
  19. Last week I switched the Snow Blower with the Lawn Mower. Got it all serviced and ready for the summer. Just watched the weather guy on TV, SNOW on Friday. What the ?
  20. Nice clean build. Very realistic looking truck.
  21. Great idea. Can't wait to see what else you got planed for this one.
  22. Outstanding paint work so far. The Chrysler 300 grill and canted headlights look great.

    Revell AMG GT

Very sharp clean looking build. That shade of blue looks perfect on this. I like how you detailed the wheels rather than just leaving them black.
  24. I also remember the Willys Wagon and trailer. That is such an outstanding build. The '48 Ford two door Woody really got my attention. Then I see the picture with the doors open and see the interior. If I ever win the Lottery I'll build one of those but it will be 1:1 scale. I'm going to set fire to my work bench now after seeing these builds.
  25. That's quite a bit of body work. The grill looks like it will become the main styling feature. I like the smooth sides and the shortened trunk and hood look different.
