  1. In addition to the smooth decal application I like the tire detailing, that must have been hard to do.
  2. Outstanding details thru out. The JP Livery has always looked good . I'm most impressed with the engine and chassis detailing and wiring. I look forward to seeing your other Volvos.
  3. You would never know from looking at it now that the body had been broken. Your paint and trim really make this a standout.
  4. Great paint and body. The engine transplant looks perfect. To bad it's so hard to see the interior with all the effort on the detailing there.
  5. For a single four barrel manifold you might look for an old AMT '58 Impala kit as it offered several carb. setups. The '61 Impala from round 2 would be another source. The Revell '62 Impala kit would offer the best 348 engine with a single 4 barrel and a manual transmission. The Impala SS has the duel Quads so look for the Impala kit. Your engine and transmission combination reminds me of a friend from long ago who had a very similar car. His was a '60 Impala with the 348 four barrel and a column shift 3 speed. Most of the 348 cars I remember from that time were 4 speed cars. Hope this info can help you with your build.
  6. Great looking tail lights. The thing to remember about the AMT Impala is that it was designed and produced a LOOOONG time ago and that was the way they were modeled at that time. What you have created is much more the current way that the model companies are doing it. Yours are well done.

  8. Very interesting looking body. I would lower and enlarge the rear window . The way it is now it looks like a sun roof for the rear package tray.
  9. That is kind of what I had in mind as I has the convertible but I'm not intending to build a convertible. I just bought it since it was out there and you just don't know for how long.
  10. Good point. I hadn't thought of that. While a little more intensive body work maybe just graft the '56 front end and the rear quarters to the '55 body. You would still have to creat the correct side trim, but after the body work that should be easy.
  11. Beautiful looking build. I enjoyed watching this come together. Your color choice is one of my favorite, I presently in a rehab program to help me stop using that color on my builds for a while.
  12. Great looking Hot Rod. I like the roll pan on the rear and the front bumper looks like you flipped it. Were the Fog/Driving Lights in the kit or did you make those ? I liked seeing your other members builds also.
  13. I have to agree with you on the Revell '57 Nomad. These were very handsome cars and deserve a little love. I have one of the old Revell Nomad wagon kits but have been put off by the shape of the body. I have a '56 Nomad body and have thought of combining it with one of the Revell '57s. Your idea of using the Revell '55 hardtop roof on the '56 Del Ray would be a perfect fit with a little side trim change. I followed your '59 Impala build and this switch might even be easier than that build, which wasn't easy, but turn out beautifully.

  15. Very nice fit and finish. This is a great kit. I built one a few years ago to replicate our '10 RT AWD Charger. The plastic covers underneath hide the Transfer case so you really can't tell anyway. Your build is very realistic looking, and I like the personal touch with the yellow bits on the suspension.

  17. The '56 Chevrolet is one of my all time personal favorites so I'm biased. I have a few of the early Revell Tri-Five kits and have only half heartedly built the '57. The '56s body proportions are off and the hardtop the roof is just wrong. The newer '56s offered by Revell are very good kits and I have built several and really have enjoyed them. I notice that now they are hard to find on the shelves at Hobby Stores and I'm glad I bought them when they were available and at much better pricing than what we see today. I have a future build planed with the 210 2 door and changing the side trim to make it a Bel Air as that's my favorite body style. I have built a couple of Nomads with one being a custom style. A Sedan Delivery using a resin body and 2 of the 210s.

  19. The Headlights are a vast improvement. I always thought of using the fender/headlight assembly from the Revell '39 Chevy coupe if I ever got around to building this.
  20. I like the bumper idea, but something to think about with the trunk lid is would the trunk lid clear the upturned bumper guards ? I know its just plastic and you're going to leave the trunk closed but it would be an issue in reality. I'm n ot a big fan of the head light design either, but it's your build. My thought is that the pointed edges conflict with the otherwise smooth design. Maybe just soften the points a little. If you can find some front Corvette bumpers that would work on the front. I like your little change to the rear quarter windows. The rear window design might want to reflect the same rounded edges to match. This is going to be a really nice Kustom.
  21. Excellent design work on the body. I see how a '63 Split Window works to your advantage with the roof design. Wasn't sure on the wheel well openings at first, but after looking at the overall design it makes sense. When finished you could make a Diorama with Annette and Bobby at the beach.
  22. Your friends '58 Ranchero, neat vehicle by the way, would of had a 292 C.U.I.N. engine when new as the 312 was discontinued after the '57 model run. Now it could be that he or someone else put a 312 in the Ranchero since it would replace a 292 with no modifications needed.

  24. I like the way you aged the paint. With all the body and frame issues you were faced with it turned out great.
  25. The truck looks like a mess, I love it. This looks like a well used truck.
