  1. I have built a couple of them and they are actually very nice kits. As Snake45 pointed out some modifications would be needed to make a more main stream model. I have a future build of a standard SS with a small block. The trunk lid just needs the upper trim molding added between the tail lights, the engine call outs on the fender removed, and I'll be using the Small Block from the Revell Nova SS to complete the conversion. Beyond that the differences are minimal. Good luck with your build, I'd like to see what you do with it.
  2. I really like your wagon.
  3. The beige color you picked for the body, while a MoPar color, is very close to what GM used in 1960. The Fawn Beige color was different and the only reason I mentioned it was what seemed like your thinking that it was that color. The Copper color is almost a perfect match for what GM was using at that time. Sorry for the confusion. Either way I think this is going to look great and I'm looking forward to watching your build.
  4. Very sharp looking build. I like the detailing on the dash.
  5. Very nice paint job. The trim is very well done.

    My nomad

Very nice ageing, looks like it was abandoned in a field somewhere.

    '56 Chevy Nomad

Beautiful looking build. Every detail seems correct including the colors under the hood. I have never built a Stock Nomad, and now I think I'm going to have to.
  8. Your Beige body color seems very close to the Beige that Chevrolet was using at that time. The Fawn Beige was a very light Gold Metallic shade that became very popular in 1961 and beyond. The color combination you have used was not real common at that time and usually the ones I remember had the Copper as the primary color. I have seen it both ways and think this is a little more interesting looking. Your chrome trim and the interior look very nice.
  9. Looks real nice so far. I like your "carpet".
  10. Please, say it isn't so.
  11. I stand corrected. the Newman & Altman team later sold the rights to the Avanti to someone in Ohio and the State of Ohio guaranteed some loans to get the car in production. The company then was sold again and I think that was Florida and the new owner was killed in an auto accident. The whole thing went to Mexico and the new owner was busted in a big Ponzi scheme and was put in jail around 2006. Very sad ending.
  12. Besides his bad driving ability and deficient equipment issues, Just why would he be going to the Quickie Mart so many times a day ? Sounds as if the background story on your new neighbor might be a little more questionable then his ability to operate a motor vehicle.
  13. My understanding is that the round headlamps came about when production was moved to Canada. It may just be an old wives tail, but that is what I have been told by those who are sure that they know of such things.
  14. Looks like it has lived a very hard life. Well built.
  15. The Cab conversion looks perfect. The stance and overall appearance looks very realistic.
  16. Beautiful looking build. The paint is perfect, Black hides no flaws.
  17. Excellent detailing on this build.
  18. I like the NASCAR Chassis as it is ideal for this type of build. This body is perfect for a Road Racer type build.
  19. I have gotten to see each of the episodes so far and I still enjoy them. Next week they're doing a Datsun 510 and that is one I have always liked. Just finished the BRE 510 and have a tuner version waiting to build. I will see if any of the modifications look like something I would want on that build.
  20. Great, I look forward to seeing what you have to share. I always enjoy seeing what others are building and often get ideas from other builders.
  21. Great looking Show Room build. Your extra efforts on the detailing adds a great deal of realism.
  22. Very natural looking body and bed combination. I know Ford made Roadster style trucks but I'm not sure when they stopped. This is very nice looking and if Ford didn't offer it then they should have.
  23. Magnificent looking. I followed your build on this beauty and it turned out perfect.
