My father bought a new '56 Chevy 210 4 door in blue and white with the standard interior. The Del Ray was offered as a dress up for the interior, much like the Ventura option on the Catalina in the early days. As I understand it the interior trim option started in the '54 model run and went thru the '57 model run. In '58 Chevrolet offered it as a standalone model called the Del Ray. In high school one of the guys that I hung out with had a '56 210 2 door in black & white with the Del Ray interior and it looked a whole lot better than our pedestrian 210 with the standard cloth interior and rubber floor covering. While I'm thankful for the Revell 210 sedan I still would have rather have the Bel Air since it was definitely better looking.

Both great looking builds. I'm partial to the red and White one but they are both well built. -
'65 Chevy Stepside

This is sure turning out nice. The Hub Caps you are looking for may be in the new '66 Chevy Suburban kit. -
I agree since I'm a big fan of the "middle child" '56 Chevy's. I would welcome a '56 Convertible as well as a Bel Hardtop.

I like this. It's kind of like Formula 1 meets Prototype race car with a touch of Mad Max. You blended all of the elements together and came up with something very special.

Revell '41 Willys "Demon II"-Now Under Glass...
espo replied to mustang1989's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I built the Big John Mazmanian version a few years ago. This is a really nice kit and builds easily, you should enjoy it. -
These Colonnade models never got the respect when new. I like the Hurst Olds you're building and the '73 Chevelle SS looks good also.

I have been watching the metamorphoses of the Nova Hatchback into the 4 door Sedan you have now. Hard to believe if I hadn't seen it happen. The body looks spot on and I may build my first Law Enforcement model if this come out in Resin.

Aftermarket wheels for my daily driver
espo replied to Monty's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
As Joe Handley pointed out many cars share the same bolt pattern. This seems most common with Ford and Chrysler products. 440 Dakota offered an excellent information site to help understand the different variables to look for when shopping for wheels. My number one question would be the wheel diameter that you have now. You are asking about 15" diameter wheels and unless you have a smaller compact car most have been using 16" diameter wheels and are moving toward 18" and even 19" wheels now. I suggest another place to look for information on what will fit on your Daily Driver. I have used, and sometimes purchased wheels and tires from the Tire Rack. Their web site has an area where you can inter you car and it will show wheels and tires that will fit and clear your suspension and body. You can also research tires from several different manufactures and it offers infinite size information on each tire. Weather or not you purchase thru them is up to you. I have been able to find oversized wheel and tires for several of my past vehicles and have them shipped to my door mounted and balanced so all I had to do was jack up my car and mount the new wheels and tires with zero fitment issues. The main thing is it's another tool to use in your research for what ever it is you're trying to do. -
Thank you for noticing the engine displacement difference. I didn't mention that the kit's I suggested were representing the 409 engine rather than the 348. What Dan was after was a single 4 barrel carb. and intake setup. That was the reason behind my suggesting these particular kits as the parts he would need were in them. I'm aware of the difference in engine displacement, as I have owned a '62 Chevrolet 409, but in the kits the engine appears the same since externally the only difference is the location of the Oil Dip Stick which isn't even in any of the kits. The 1962 Super Sport was a basic emblem option that even dealers could apply to any Impala that they had in stock and often did. The original idea was to highlight the new 409 engine that could he had in any body style you wanted. I had a friend with a Biscayne two door with a 409 4 speed that he raced at the old Lyon's Drag Strip. You mentioned it was possible to get a 6 cylinder Super Sport. I think this would of been from 1962 on, I have never seen one but I have read that a few were in fact were built, although I can't figure out why. This was also true in the Chevelle Super Sport when it was offered in 1964. I have seen one of those with a 6 cylinder, but again why ?

You may just need a metal switch plate to replace the plastic one. Or maybe a switch that is compatible with your wiring current.

Revell 41 chevy truck

Looks like a nice Street Rod. I like the Wheels and Tires. The warmed over inline six is great. With a couple of short Glass Packs these sound like a Jaguar under acceleration. -
Very nice especially for an early build. Pepto Bismol Pink is an interesting color.
-
Beautiful looking Caddy. Excellent detailing on both the interior and body trim. Those cars were so big I always thought the owners should have a Commercial Drivers License to operate one.
-
While I personally wouldn't build in this style I can't help but admire the creativeness in these builds. Very interesting to look at how everything comes together in a very believable way.
-
Very interesting builds. Combined with your Camaros you have a lot going on on your work bench.

Going to watch this. I had a '69 Camaro in Hugger Orange with the standard Black Vinyl interior for a total of 18 years. I was the second and fourth owner. The 1:1 car was great and Revell's Camaro kit is really nice with endless possibilities much like the real ones.

You have very good taste in automobiles. I'll bet that 40 years ago he thought he paid to much for this car. Time has proven this to be the best retirement plan and he got to enjoy it for the last 40 years. -

Chevy s10 "waverider"
espo replied to Jared Roach's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Outstanding rebuild on this little S10. The extra details with the license plate and the bed cover shocks add to the realistic look. I could see owning a 1:1 version of this. Great tutone paint job. -
In addition to the smooth decal application I like the tire detailing, that must have been hard to do.
