Some nice looking builds. Did you build the hoists from scratch or are there kits for those ?
-
There used to be a Montego NASCAR kit a few years ago. That might be a better starting point in the future. I like how your build turned out and would also like to see more pictures of it.
-
Great looking build. I like the paint, super smooth. I like that you kept the Flat Head engine.

This should be fun. These are very unique cars, I was on vacation a couple of years ago in Northern Michigan and there was a convention and show in town for the 2CV owners. There had to be close to 100 of them running around town.

Sorry I didn't mean to veer of course. I also have the utmost respect for John Force and what he has accomplished in Drag Racing. I also have the same respect for several of the drivers in NASCAR and what they have done in their form of racing. As you pointed out this is about John Force and I agree that is what it should be limited to. -

And all this time I thought this type of crazy was a US thing. Its not like these people are going to go hungry for lack of food options. I guess when you really want something nothing else is going to do. -
Complain to City Hall. If your elected officials don't hear from disgruntled citizens they think its OK to have your utilities torn up in the dead of winter. Make noise, let them know this is unacceptable to the citizenry they are supposed to represent. Maybe even a few burning pitch forks in the middle of town, see if they notice. That maybe a bit much but attend a few City Hall meetings and let them know this is unacceptable to you. . ,

There is no doubt that Earnhardt Sr. was trying to win the race and possibly another Championship, along with some 40 other drivers on that day. Unfortunately he chose to mount his belts in a manor that was not recommended and his preference for an open faced helmet proved his undoing. I had a white # 3 on the rear window of my pick up for a long time before that day and it was still there when I sold the truck. -

I like the fade paint job. -
Great looking paint and interior. I like what you did with the engine update. Is that the Testors Root Beer color ? You got the stance where it should be and with that wheel and tire combination it just looks right.
-
I really like the colors in the range of Copper/Orange that you are using. Good idea with the Hemi Billboards on the side. Not sure about the Push Bar, but its about your vision anyway.

Since I have a hard time trying to walk and chew gum at the same time I try to stay with one build at a time. With to many models on the bench at one time it seems to little gets finished and sometimes I lose track of what I was trying to accomplish on any one build. I'd just do one at a time and make that your main focus.

Thank you for sharing the photos. A lot of great looking cars and trucks. -
Very impressive ageing. Under hood looks like this poor old car was in a very damp environment. You even got the "Eye Brows" rusted thru. Where did you get the drum brake setup for the rear ?

I like the Utility Bed and the accessories in the bed are very realistic looking. -
Very impressive looking Vinyl Roof. Outstanding paint and the trim looks perfect. I like the light "grim" on the chassis and on the engine.
-
Very nice and basic build. Looks like something built before WWII with the modified 4 cylinder. Great looking paint work, not to shinny more realistic looking.

65 Chevy Shcool Bus
espo replied to Oldmopars's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
What often happened in the 1:1 world with school buses was that the conversion company used the same body no matter what length they were building. They would just chop the length to meet what ever was needed. The duel rear wheels were done by tubing the floor to clear the duel wheels and kept the same tread width as the front wheels. These "Shortys" are very popular with the "Tail Gating" set. -
Beautiful looking build. Almost makes you sad to see such a once stately automobile fall on hard times. Does make you wonder about the hood and fender, just what did happen ?? Could it have been another car, you can bet it's totaled as a Hudson would drive right thru most other cars. Maybe a Power Poll or a couple of trees or something. I like how you weather your builds it always looks very convincing.

Excellent finish on the Charger, very believable looking.
-
I hadn't thought of those but it sounds like a good idea. It might just depend on what can be found and what it would cost.
-
I think GMCMAN 52's idea would be the best and most accurate for the 3.8 liter Buick engine. You would want to change to a Carburetor instead of the Turbo, or a Turbo could be fun also.

I was having lunch and watching the Tube. They're updating the whole Locklear thing and they mention all of the other problems she has had and that she had been in rehab several time which I didn't know. I think the Officer in the TV show you were watching gave his son some very sound advice. I believe it takes a very special skill set to be a Police Officer and maybe now more than ever before. You see and hear of so many situations that these Officers are put in and all to often it's a No Win situation. They are Damned of they do and Damned if they don't. Unfortunately all to often they are playing referee in some domestic issue that could be prevented if they hadn't started drinking in the first place. To many of the "Bad Guys" today think nothing of shooting at the Police and if the Police return fire they are now somehow at fault. We have local cities that are defunding the Police and Fire Departments to balance their city budgets and then wonder why it takes so long for them to respond to a problem. I wish your son well if he wants to go into Law Enforcement but so few people really appreciate their sacrifices. I'll get down off my soap box now, sorry sometimes I just state more than what is needed or asked for.
