Very nice mild Custom so far. These Chrysler products at that time almost looked like Customs from the factory, very advanced styling for that time frame.

The R&M '57 Ford Bumpers are front and rear and I believe are based on the 2 door bumpers. They fit perfectly as I have checked. The biggest problem with the front Bumper in the kit has to do with the mounting area on the back side. Using the kit Bumpers a couple of years ago when I first built the '57 coupe was that when you removed the material that is the Bumper Guard you were into the mounting area and the Bumper would fold up. I reinforced the back side with parts of a metal staple and then used filler on the front side to make it smooth. The R&M Bumper looks almost like a kit type part as far as size and appearance. Their part number is RM-145B. I would highly recommend these Bumpers if this trying to build car without Bumper Guards.

I have modified the Bumpers in several kits in the past and then sprayed them with Alclad Chrome paint. Modelhaus used to have the best '49-'51 Ford Bumpers but I don't know of anyone doing them now. I have gotten some smooth '57 Ford Bumpers from Replicas & Miniatures that only need to be Chromed. If you're building a '55 Chevy look for one of the old AMT kits with the Checkered Flag on the rear quarters on the box art. The kit had a set of smooth Bumpers as an option and the rear one was the Wagon style with the notch for the License Plate. I would suggest looking in the Directory on this site to see what the Suppliers there have listed.

Very nicely detailed. The colors are perfect '50's combination.

Another beautiful Restoration. Your color choice give the model a very rich looking finish. It is a shame non of the Model Companies today haven't issued a model of this body style.

Beautiful Restoration. I like the color combination.

That has got to be one of the best Black paint jobs I have seen. The finish almost looks like trick photography. The interior looks perfect. Like so many who have owned a 1:1 "Monte" these were cars you had to own to fully appreciate how great they were. Had a '72 350/350 in Placer Gold with Dark Brown Vinyl Bench Seat. Upgraded Suspension and 15x8 Corvette Rally Wheels. .

That is an amazing looking build. Besides the obvious Paint and Trim detailing, this is now a kit I would look forward to building. The Mirrors mounted on the Fenders is not a common style here. I like the Bumpers removed. I had watched your build and I would get that engine also. Man this is just so nice to look at.

"Triple Threat" '57 'Vette - 05-03 Update - Version 2, Show Car

I really like the shade of Blue you used, info on that please. -
Very nice looking. I'd just leave the doors open and not worry about the fitment when closed. I like the Very Old School look. You might want to check the Camber angle on the front tires.

That's the engine I was thinking of. For a Compact Economy Car in the early '60's these things would fly.
-
Now that's just to cool, if real.

You're off to a great start. I agree with some of the others about the rear overhang. A thought might be to look at the tailgate on say a '58 Ford wagon. I'm not the worlds biggest fan of the Ford design on the '58, but if you shortened the Quarter Panel sides about were the notch for the rear Bumper is and then brought the Tail Lamp area in so that it formed a Tailgate like a "58 Ford but with the Thunder Bird Tail Lights that might work. Ether way this is a great idea.

Has anyone ever figured out what any of the Kardashians really do that makes them so well known. I mean anything truly productive contributors to society as a whole.

Great looking build. Very nice paint finish. That is quite a trailer hitch you have there. -
Great looking paint and detailing. I like how you put the Flame Decals under the hood.

I can see where you spent your extra time with the Engine detailing. Looks like time well spent. Very clean looking build and I like the old time Keystone Wheels.

I always wondered if there was a real "Miss Deal" that the kit was based on. The basic concept looks the same.

All foolishness aside you have to wonder what types of materials were used to create this Publicity Mobile. Inquiring Minds need to know what Chassis was used. What types of inner structure was used ? Most importantly are there any freshly roasted hand outs.

In addition to the points made by Ace I think this may be a case of what used to be called "Over Carburation". IE. there is more fuel going to the engine than the engine can burn efficiently. This "Shade Tree Engineering" I think may be based on the engine option offered by Plymouth on their Valiant that was used in NASCAR's Compact Racing Series in the early sixties. The Chrysler Engineers designed a single four barrel Carburetor long Ram type Manifold. This placed a Carter AFB series Carburetor almost to the driver side inner fender. This was for their 225 cu in engine which was also offered at one time with an Aluminum Engine Block. I think I remember seeing this very car offered by a Dealer on E Bay some time ago. The Wagon was a pretty clean looking rig as I recall.

Very clean build and definitely a Day 2 car. I noticed the Metal Flake Steering Wheel and the long Shackles. I remember the Mufflers dangling from the Collectors on the Headers. A MoPar at that time wasn't a MoPar without Cragers .

I enjoy seeing what some modelers are doing with the Slant Six. I like the Turbo idea.
