  1. WOW this looks sooooo much better , excellent work Pierre !
  2. I had problems with the fire extinguisher but it's finally finished , crooked straps and all . And the interior is 99% complete , I think all that's left is the rear view mirror .
  3. Excellent work Martin , I really like what you've done ! Everything looks so neat and clean , that's something I always have problems with .
  4. Excellent job Mario , what a great color and tribute to your neighbor !
  5. Great looking Charger , well done Anthony ! That's how all our cars looked back in the 70's .
  6. Well done , you've made a great kit look even better with the mods you've done ! Until now I've avoided replying to your posts because forum rules say that you must use your full real name . . . so That Guy what's your name ?
  7. Wow ! Very nicely done Lee ! Such a fiddley kit to build and you've done an excellent job . I'd skip the working roof too , why bother if it's going to sit on a shelf or in a cabinet forever .
  8. Well done Steve ! For a simple model it builds up nicely and yours looks great in red with the white tires !
  9. I understand your frustration . It seems like Salvinos goes to great lengths to get their bodies and 75% of other parts correct but then completely drops the ball with the last 25% of parts , it's like they think nobody will notice . As for using Future . . . it's self leveling and yes the best way to apply it is with a brush , I found those cheap 1" foam brushes from Harbor Freight are the best . Also any damage to the Future or fogging from the MicroSol should completely disappear with a final coat of Future . And I do hope you'll finish this and post some photos . I've been watching and you're doing a great job , it should look awesome in black !
  10. Well done Ludwig ! The perfect colors for a '70 Firebird .
  11. Well done Mario ! Your wood trim looks great , and yes the decals are a bit dark but they still look great !
  12. Absolutely gorgeous !
  13. Yesterday I found a problem with the fire extinguisher , it's way too big . It measures nearly 32 scale inches long with almost a 4 inch gauge ! Instead of cutting it down I just made a new one . This is inside Petty's car . . . . . . the Salvinos part and my new one . After paint I'll add a mounting bracket and straps .
  14. I tried something different and wrapped the steering wheel with some tape , not the greatest but maybe I can work with it . I was able to tighten the tape before spraying the wheel with some clear , it doesn't look too bad installed on the dash . It's time to start assembling the interior but then I realized I should do the underside first . The last couple of weeks I've been painting all of the parts so it went pretty quick . I also added oil lines for the differential oil pump and cooler . Haven't done anything like this for several years because of arthritis and poor eyesight but I've been feeling pretty good the last month or so and decided to give it a try before things go south again . Now I can move on to the interior !
  15. Good one ! Thanks much Pierre ! The latches for the belts came from Future Attractions , his website has a link to a video that shows exactly how to assemble them . I followed those instructions and the latches went together with no problems at all , I was surprised they were that easy .
  16. Well done Samuel , you should be very proud of that one ! I bet most of us here didn't even come close to that on our third model ever !
  17. Well done John , it looks great in those colors ! That Tamiya Aluminum looks better than most silver paints I've seen .
  18. Excellent work Bob , that's one super sharp looking truck ! Really like the black paint with a slight green tint .
  19. Pretty cool ! The Ron Jon decal on the board is a nice touch , great job !
  20. Even out of the box this is a great looking model , anything beyond that is icing on the cake ! Great job on the wheels !
  21. Beautiful Camaro John ! The perfect color and some great trim and detailing . And no complaints about the hood stripe decals , you may be the first !
  22. I like what I see so far , great work Joe ! While having poor fitting parts may be frustrating to some I find it a challenge and more satisfying when it's finished , to me that's what this hobby is all about .
  23. I managed a couple of quick additions last night . First I made the shoulder belts into a "Y" belt to attach it to the roll cage . And I worked on a new shifter using a Detail Master set and the shifter boot from the kit . The DM set comes with tiny lead balls that you're supposed to drill but I just cut one from a ball-link chain , it already has the hole . The finished shifter .
  24. Congrats on the score and a great save ! Sharp looking '70 , nice work Steve !
