  1. This would probably help reduce brush marks, huh? That's the only problem with brush painting..... Thanks for the replies, fellas, this is the best forum....
  2. Yes, I usually use either a craft paint or something acrylic like Tamiya clear red...... I guess I'll need to stop by a hardware store soon. Thanks....
  3. Hey, Guys..... I bought a small jar of Tamiya "rubber black" (LP-65), and just had a quick question. Besides their dedicated lacquer thinner, what could I use to clean my brushes? Would rubbing alcohol do the job? I'm hoping to use this on an upcoming model for a more realistic finish on the rubber parts..... Thanks for any kind of help!
  4. I read in a magazine column some time back that driving instructors no longer teach kids how to avoid an accident....... They just tell them to drop their arms and wait for impact. I guess the airbags and such are more responsible for driver safety than the drivers themselves.....
  5. Cale, man, do you know what year model the engine is? If it's an early one, the only go fast goodies you would really need would be a good carb and your long tube headers.... These engines were strictly a performance engine. They never came in a family car, and never had a 2 bbl carburetor.....
  6. Yep, stockers in sleeves! That looks the best......
  7. I appreciate you, Bill....... if nobody else does......
  8. Just a heads-up if any of you guys may be fans.... Primus is releasing a new album this month! I can't wait until it's on Napster.... Also, the Red Hot Chili Peppers have a new album out (those guys are showing their age!). First time I think they had horns and piano on an album. Pretty good listen so far.....
  9. I like the little Bimmers...... It's pretty cool to see the Karmann Ghia among the higher-end cars.....
  10. That's a real good find! They've painted the engine bay, though.... It should be body color.
  11. You can see more than just a little '62 Olds Starfire in the front end of a '68 Thunderbird.....
  12. I just checked that out..... Can you draw from scratch, or is it mainly image manipulation software?
  13. I like to both draw with pen/pencil and paper and doodle with the MS Paint program..... I think that hand drawn art is a bit 'warmer' and more organic. Digital art can be a bit cold and distant. I wish I could afford something like Photoshop to draw with, though. Here's a drawing that I did in Paint, I think it evokes a bit of feeling even though it's digital.....
  14. Those were on the 'unplugged' Nirvana album, correct? I had the cassette...... They also covered some Meat Puppets songs on that album! and Bowie, too......
  15. This all looks really good, and will be very much removed from the toy you started with.....
  16. Carl, man, I believe anything is better than Facebook........... I stay on IG a bit, though, it's a whole 'nother experience...
  17. I lurk on here off and on all day, I just never sign in unless I'm posting something.....
  18. Thanks, Anton! They have other colors of wheel coating, also..... One is a nice copper tone.
  19. Sorry, you'll have to click the link. It won't show here as a video for some reason...
  20. One of Les Claypool's side projects..... It gets really good about five minutes in! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OnHib4DDkAU
  21. I'm noticing some quirks with the site, Tom man.... Maybe it's something they need to fix now that the forum is back online. One quirk (not to borrow your topic), is clicking on the last reply taking me to the first page of a thread. We'll just have to be patient until things are 100%.....
  22. Thank you for starting this thread..... this will be very cool to follow!
  23. Gnarls Barkley...... Most of their songs have a definite hip-hop flavor, but they do have some catchy stuff.
  24. Love me some Fu Manchu! Not many people know about them..... This is my favorite of theirs....
