socal76 Posted February 18, 2016 Author Posted February 18, 2016 Roadrunner, I took your advice. Original post title was a big error on my part and actually did not pay attention to it beofre posting.
gtx6970 Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 If I can pick one and only one.Moebius would do a 1960 or 1961 Chrysler 300 ( I know its 2 actually,,,,,but it truely doesnt matter which one to me )
MrObsessive Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 If I can pick one and only one. Moebius would do a 1960 or 1961 Chrysler 300 ( I know its 2 actually,,,,,but it truely doesnt matter which one to me ) I would buy either of those in a heartbeat, but I'm partial to the '61. It would be nice if they also seriously considered a '57 Olds. Lots of race history with that one, and a number of versions could be run!
Richard Bartrop Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 My thought on these threads is, so long as you keep your expectations realistic, I don't see a problem with letting the kitmakers know what you want, and over the years I've seen just enough things on my want list hit the shelves to make me think it's not a completely useless exercise. At the very least, it's always fun to bounce ideas off each other. And if you're just too darn cool for all this, it's not like someone is holding a gun to your head to make you read these threads, are they?
Mike Kucaba Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 A 1969 Chevrolet Biscayne 2 dr sedan would make my day. They could start with a 2 dr Hdtp and after that flies off the shelfs and warehouses, enough money would be made to make the new tooling for the sedan. Then there would be convertibles, wagons The whole she-bang.
ChrisBcritter Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 I'll go from left field and suggest a vintage travel trailer, like a Shasta or small Airstream - or maybe even a 2-in-1 version of the Open Road camper that could be also built as a trailer.
slusher Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 A 68 Chevy Belair or Impala and 74 or 75 Ford Pinto..
Joe Handley Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 I like the idea of a Tesla, if it were the Model S or maybe the upcoming III if it looks decent, otherwise, XJ body Jeep Cherokee!
1930fordpickup Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 1962 Ford Truck or a 1967 Chevy Truck, They are hotter than a fox in a forest fire in the truck custom world. The Tesla is not a bad idea or maybe the Fisker which I think is a better looking car.
Olderisbetter Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 1938 Buick 4 door. I hope this doesn't bore Aho too much
blunc Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 I find the thread title misleading, I thought I would find ideas or wish lists for tools that would help in constructing models, not another kit wishlist thread. While I am not bored by this thread, I am disappoint.Oh yeah, I would like a '54 Lincoln Capri or '56 Continental in 1/25 scale.
Ridge Rider Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Once again- early 40's dodge pickup. Although I am liking Rob's idea of Studebakers.
RandyEarle Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 1970 Dodge D-100 in 2 and 4 wheel drive. I'd also like to see the '67 Coronet retooled as a '66.,
Timonator Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Koenigsegg Agera, new Ford gt, or full detail plastic stingray z06.
Tom Geiger Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 The new tools we need are...1958 Ford1967 Ford1965 and 1966 Barracuda1968 and 1969 Impala
socal76 Posted February 21, 2016 Author Posted February 21, 2016 (edited) I have to admit since I started this thread and then revised the title of the post there are some kits I sure would like to see that have been mentioned that I did not really think about too much before posting the thread. The Tesla is the biggest PRIME example. But there is one that I have not seen anyone mention, and maybe it is just because it is just dated now. Do I dare say Cadzilla? And I have sent Round2 some suggestions using existing tools to make some new tools with minimum tooling dollars. Do I dare say convert the '66 Nova Pro-Street to a '67 Nova? Pro Street , you can avoid the whole interior tooling and just use the same that you have. Same with both the AMT and Revell '67 Chevelle Pro Streets to a '66 Pro Street. True, replica stock builder would not be happy, but it would give either company an idea if a new tool Replica Stock might sell. Oh, and do a Monogram 1/24th scale '69 Mustang Boss 302 and Boss 429 to sit beside the Monogram '70. And a 1/24th scale Cobra 289 to sit beside the Monogram 427 Cobra? I bet all of these would sell. I readily admit my first choice of a '66 Impala wagon probably would not sell as well as some others, but then again I may find out I am not the only one. And I have to admit I am partial to the '66 Chevy for purely personal reasons, but I would like to see a wagon, a Caprice, a Bel Air, and a base 6 cylinder Replica Stock, Not my cup of tea, but maybe enought to cover tooling costs to do some otheres using the same chassis parts. But then again I go off kilter and want to include an optional coupon to provide some of the revised tooling cost items to be offered with a proof of purchae type deal. Best example I can think of is to include a coupon to be able to send into Revell to get the parts to do a 6 cylinder up-top convertible. Up-top and 6 Cylinder engine parts to purchase after sending in poof of purchase on a '69 convertible kit. Granted more paperwork for Revell but direct to Revell for tooling dollars. Just an idea I have had.OK, and another new tool I just thought of is a 67-68 Cougar to go with AMT's nice '67 Mustang tool. Or did I miss something with that? And thank you to all that have provided suggestions as far as new tools. Hopefully the companies have some lurkers reading posts here too! highway Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 (edited) I'm sorry, but that is hideous in my opinion. I don't see anything Torino about it at all. 63 Corvette Splitwindow I agree. Revell would already have a pretty good base to go on with their 67 kit. As for my choice, I would like to see a kit of this: Moebius already make the correct trailer, I just need the correct tractor to pull it! It's my other daily driver. charlie8575 Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 The new tools we need are...1958 Ford1967 Ford1965 and 1966 Barracuda1968 and 1969 Impala These have very high potential. For the Impalas, even if AMT made alternate body/trim/interior molds for their really nice '67, that would work well, too, as opposed to an all-new tool.Charlie Larkin
slusher Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 The new tools we need are...1958 Ford1967 Ford1965 and 1966 Barracuda1968 and 1969 Impala Tom, real good choices. I would like to see it happen...
socal76 Posted February 22, 2016 Author Posted February 22, 2016 (edited) OK, since I am the guilty party of starting this thread. many of the choices posted are on my list. Top of the list is the Tesla, but I sure would like to see Moiebus do a new Freightliner to go along with thier trailers. OK, I admit it, all of the newer Class 8 trucks would give me goose pimples. And highway's post of a Schneider Freightliner in white? Let alone pulling a Wal-Mart trailer, (since I live 40 miles from wallyworld headquarters in Bentonville) would tickle me, Yes the Wal-Mart decals would be easy to do on an inkjet printer! But I still have to ask everyone, if Round2 did a new (or a revised new kit like a '67 Nova SS Pro Street) would you buy more of that than a re-issue? I know I would! Moiebus is giving us totally new tools and revised tools in their issues, Revell is doing a few new tools along with some re-issues, but everything Round 2 is doing is either straight re-issue or slightly revised re-issue, which is your choice? Don't get me wrong I have bought a few of Round2's re-issues, but much more of my buying is Moiebus and then Revell. Care to provide your input in that respect too, along with the totally new tool choice? Edited February 22, 2016 by socal76
Jordan White Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 (edited) One new tool of an older subject I would love to see is a 1/12 scale Mopar muscle car, such as a 1970 Charger or Cuda. They are popular subjects, can be made into a few different releases, and there are currently no Mopar products in 1/12 scale, while there are close to a half dozen gm kits and a couple Ford kits already. One tool of a newer subject I would love to see is a previous gen Ram 2500 or 3500 with the Cummins. Again, popular trucks, can be made into many different versions, and there are no current truck kits other than the Meng F350. Plus, people would probably buy the kit for the engine alone.
