Got this 1964 Corvette a couple of months ago and still trying to decide whether to restore it or keep it as a period piece with all the custom pieces glued on.

I'd keep that as a period piece. You'll probably find if you pry off those exhausts that the fender vents and/or rocker trim will be glue-roached. 

If it were mine, I'd see if that luggage rack could be pried off without glue marks; if so, I'd polish the white plastic. The other thing I'd do is remove those triple taillights from the outside and install them from inside the body as they should be. The body under them might be glue-roached, too. Easy enough fix but it will necessitate painting, not polishing, the body. (Does it have exhaust pipes at the rear in addition to the side pipes? Those would have to go as well.)

I'd keep the Corvette as-is too!  It is a cool period piece.

Regarding the tail lights, several kits of that era showed installing the lights on the outside as the custom version.  I'd check the instruction sheet for this model. It may be period correct!

Cheap IMC GT40 Mark IV on eBay with free shipping. Sort of a fun metallic gold color. I initially thought the ebay photos were showing a red molded MPC kit with scratch-throughs down to the bare plastic, but it turns out the builder sprayed the gold over a pink-ish red primer coat. I hope it all dissolves fairly easily. This one really earns the word "glue" in gluebomb, the back wheel really was solidly in that position and didn't come off without a struggle. The fiddley suspension looks like it was a huge struggle for the builder who might have abandoned it at that point because not enough glue would hold it in place.

In one of the other threads here about GT40s, somebody said you can never have enough of them, and since all I had was just a pair of 64th scale die casts, I needed this one. Well, maybe just the central body / interior section. The ultimate objective is to mash that section together with another ironically gold-colored glue bomb I snagged and have a complete car to mess with my fellow modeler's minds, where they might say "that isn't like any LeMans car I've seen. But the front & back clips look really familiar ……"

First glue bomb I’ve ever purchased. I got it off eBay, and believe it or not, the only reason I got it was for an extra knock-off! That was before I realized there were more affordable ways of getting hold of such parts? ... I’m not sure if I will ever take the time to turn this into something respectable. But hey... it’s a Cobra!

Russell that’s an MPC. The weird lettering on instructions is MPC, just hard to read. Great kit, only weird thing is goofy hinge cutouts in roof for engine cover.

Both have since been disassembled and stripped, awaiting restoration. Had to gather up a few replacement parts.

Some of the better ones I’ve gotten recently. I’m hoping to restore the three dragsters.

The frame is a revell 40 Ford, this was after a 72 hour soak in super clean, the glue was brittle enough to pick off, the only part that didn’t survive the process was the front wishbone

Not really old enough to be what I'd call a "survivor," maybe not even bad enough for "glue bomb" status. That one looks good enough that I think I could "rescue" it enough to sit on my shelf. Only reason I wouldn't buy that one at the local toy show is, I already have a nicely built dark blue one.

It is certainly a “glue bomb”. There are big globs holding the suspension parts together. I know I could make it awesome again, but I have way cooler things to work on at least for the next year or so, one of which is a fresh Revell Cobra.

I’ve already got 2 hardtops so this one is staying a vert. Specifically it’s going to be a replica of the real car my father once owned as a kid. The fairlane is a 66 original annual with the correct roof. Likely going to be a day two car. I’ve got two more that had various degrees of body damage I’m in the process of fixing now but I’m trying to locate 2 more sets of taillight bezels and lenses but thats proving to be difficult lol

Yeah, I don't buy glue bombs or builtups of currently available kits unless they're in VERY nice shape. If I can get a brand new kit for $18, why waste time trying to fix or rehab a hot mess? Generally I have to figger I can Snake-slap it into presentable shape in 4-6 hours to make it worth my while, although the reality is when I get into one of these projects, I end up with double or triple that in it. 

Still, I enjoy recycling old junk and raising it up out of ignominy and shame.

You can start from scratch and there are more decals options.  I have built the MKIV and J Car kits.  Good luck with the project.

This Revell Camaro seems tidy enough, although the paint has an odd texture:

But what did they do to the rear window?!

Hopefully a bit of clear sheet will rectify that. No hurry though as I have a boxed, unstarted one to do first.

I think this European Escort is probably beyond hope as a road car, but it could still make a short oval/grasstrack racer of some sort. Basically something that has no lights or windows and not too much interior.....

Eeeeeeek. One of these days I'll learn how to read. Hokey MPC logo lettering, yes, but I think where really I led myself astray was seeing all the white-molded plastic in this bomb when I was expecting red. MPC must have done an older one than the red plastic version, and this instruction sheet has all of its first page dedicated to a transparent walls two-axle transport trailer. My other excuse besides boneheaded random bouts of illiteracy is that I'm a traditional model builder --- don't need instruction sheets, never read 'em. ??

Nice pics & models! Naw, this suits my purposes purely because of how cheap it was, and all I needed was just the center body section. Mix 'n match guy that I was (Chrysler / Lambos, Cadillac BMWs, etc) and would like to be again, this one was a gamble to see if its body compared in scale to another glue bomb donor of front & rear clips, and since they all line up good enough for jazz, this project will be headed where no LaMans car has gone before. ?
