Something I just finished last week -
My highly customized build of the 32 Phantom Vicki kit.
As you can compare the box art, I added side engine panels, filled in the rear wheel wells to be smooth, channeled the body over the chassis, chopped the front grill-shell, made the grill insert with wire, chopped the kits convertible top and molded it in to the body as a coupe.
Filled in the rear panel and added a fuel-cell filler.
Custom interior panels
The motor is a cross-ram injected set-up.
Paint is Duplicolor Platinum on top, with a fine orange body-line stripe above the Electric Current Red.

Very nicely done transformation. All the modifications are well integrated. The Phantom Vickie kit contains a bunch of great parts and is a great starting point for a custom hot rod build.

Those are some great pics of a very well done kit. Looks very real! You nailed it with your choices: paint, body, engine... And those WHEELS! Wow. They look like modified Viper GTS wheels. What are they?

Love it!

Thanks! The wheels are actually out of an old AMT Matador kit. The rears are Pegasus 19" sleeves to give the bigger deeper look.

I chose them because the shape of the openings are matched to the shape of the side window area.

Fantastic!! This is a perfect representation of that early 2000s style of hi-tech rod, complete with the 2-tone paintjob split at the beltline. It looks bang-on like a 1:1 'glass body from Rat's Glass. I like the re-positioned taillights as well. The cross-ram intake is ideal for this style and generation of street rod and really completes the package. Beautiful work.

I've been wanting to build something like this for a long time (convert the Vicky into a Rat's Glass-style body) but have had trouble assessing whether or not the stock roof would be a worthwhile starting point. Now I can see that it certainly is!

Did you patch in a windshield surround and A-pillars from something else, or was it all scratchbuilt?
