Ideally 1/16 scale, but realistically 1/25 scale, would be a “level 5” 1978 Mustang II King Cobra kit with separate bodykit and trim panels, so one could easily make a different trim level. Heck, it would be easy enough to make coupe and hatchback kits with a simple roof mold swap and different rear/side windows.

Yes to this, in 1/25th for me, as a decent kit with all the King Cobra parts separate. As a cheaper alternative, maybe they could redo MPCs old Mustang II kit to make it a little better? New tires and wheels, maybe some retooling to make parts fit better.

I was reading through some old issues of R&C when I realized that some of us might enjoy a new kit of the 1955 Pontiacs - Chieftain, Star Chief or even the 2 door Safari wagon.

I'd like to see this happen.

As a tiny car aficionado, yes to this. I've always loved funny small cars, Fiats, Yugos, early Japanese cars, you name it. I recently found my Trabant unbuilt kit and my built ups of a 1/24th Skoda and a Fiat Abarth and am trying to decide how to restore them. They wouldn't even have to be full detail, just make them well detailed curbsides and I'd buy several of each!

I may have mentioned this before, but I'd really like to see 1/24th kits of the Mercedes Sprinter van, the Ford Transit and the Transit Connect. I would be happy to have them as curbsides or full detail. They should pay off in sales as the company could do multiple releases of them with markings for various delivery companies the way Round 2 has done with MPC's old Econoline van. They could do them as assembled promos with markings for companies to sell with their names on them, like an Amazon van or something. Then they could add a camping interior and sell them as active lifestyle camper vans. All sorts of things like that!

Edit: I'd also love to see a 1/24th kit of the new Maverick mini-pickup and some of the other smaller SUVs and trucks that are coming out. The real ones may not be as tough as their larger peers, but they sure seem popular!

Jimmy Flintstone has a resin '61 Starliner body available, but I would love to have this in kit form as well.

Never say never. There was an annual kit of the '61 Starliner. Yes, would be awesome to rerelease it. I used the '60 Starliner top on the '61 Galaxie to build a model of my aunt's first car. She used to take me to town on Saturdays with a pocket full of money, usually $2 or less, to buy models.

At least there are 1/24 die-cast models of 2 of these  cars available (from my collection):

from the Facel Vega there exists a model of the 1955 FV (the 1958 HK 500's forerunner) :

What you could possibly do is cut the roof off the ‘60, and then cut the roof off AMT’s square roof ‘61 and just interchange the roofs. If you’re daring.

The "new tool" 60 Starliner roof may be too wide to fit the 61 Galaxie body.  I ran into that issue when I tried putting a 60 Starliner roof on a 62 Mercury convertible.  I ended up using the roof from an original 61 Starliner body that had been hacked up by a previous owner.

It is a pretty straight forward swap. The major issue between the two is the dropped center tulip panel on the 60 as opposed to the flat tulip panel on the 61. On mine I cut the C pillars with a bit of extra styrene so I could have a larger gluing surface. For windows I got a set of vacu-form from Modelhaus, although looking back I believe the rear window from the 60 Starliner could be made to fit.

Picking up on Richard Bartrop's post during August. He mentioned that he would like to see an Auburn Speedster kitted.

I picked up the old 1/25th scale Pyro kit at a local model show just recently. Underneath it says the kit was released way back in 1955. I can remember building one of these before, back in the 70's.

There are no plated parts on the kit and no transparencies either. The parts look a bit on the heavy side in places. But the kit does have potential. It does have engine detail but the chassis, underside and sump are all moulded as one large flat moulding. So I will be building it as a kerb side model. The engine parts will find themselves in the spares box for now. The headlamps have lenses that have to be painted, but I am sure that I will find replacements in the spares box. As for the windscreen, as it is a split frame design, a couple of flat pieces of clear acetate will do the trick.

As far as I know Pyro was the only company to make a plastic kit of this car in 1/25th scale. It would possibly compliment the 1/24th scale Cord that Monogram made despite the small difference in scale.

There is also a Lindberg kit in 1/25th that has been reissued a couple of times. Way back in the 60s there was a article in one of the mags using the Auburn to make a boat tail Duesenberg out of the Monogram kit.
