Greg Myers Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 (edited) This would be the kit in question. Edited May 15, 2018 by Greg Myers
64Comet404 Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 I wouldn't mind having another XR-6 in my collection. It's a great source for a rodded Slant Six, if nothing else.
Snake45 Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 I'd buy one just for the history of it. No real desire to build, at least not according to the instructions.
426 pack Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 I would buy it for the 27 Ford and the other car would be spare parts.
bamadon Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 Same as 426 pack. I'ld like the phaeton and have no interest in the xr6 except for parts

Greg Myers Posted May 15, 2018 Author Posted May 15, 2018 (edited) What day was that ? I got one when they first came out in the mid sixties. Saw the articles in Hot Rod Magazine and thought what a cool idea. I built the XR-6 and the tub. Then I needed a body for a slot car, well that XR-6 worked out just fine. cobraman Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 I would not but would still like to see it released for those who would like it.
Richard Bartrop Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 i already have one in my stash, but it's one i'd like to see come back. Even if the XR-6 part is lost to history, I thik there are people who would like to see the '27 touring come back with some of the custom parts from the original issue.
stavanzer Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 Heck Yeah! Send about 6 of those. You can NEVER have too many XR-6's... I have two of the original XR-6 kits, Four of the '27 Firetruck versions of this tool, two My Mother the Car kits(also from this tool) and a half dozen of the later versions of the touring, including the Hillbilly Hotrod. It is a fabulous kit. Needs to be brought back restored. It would be nice to see the firetruck version back as well.
Richard Bartrop Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 Though if we're talking miraculous resurrections, if AMT could somehow bring this back from the dead, I would be happy.

I'm with Snake on this one. I already have the T touring by itself. And I've never been all that interested in the XR-6. But, if it was reissued I'd probably buy one. Just because I love those old AMT reissues.
